    How do you actually pump into the schrader valve though? Do you have to twist it? Lock it first? Just press it in?

    • @cyclemaintenanceacademy
      @cyclemaintenanceacademy  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your comment. With a schrader valve the pump end presses onto the valve. Then if the pump has a locking lever this can be lifted to create a seal around the valve. Hope this helps

    Modern pumps like this are, IMHO, absurd. The old style pumps would connect to the tyre's valve by screwing on a six inch long adapter. That way everything was screwed tightly togather so could arrest assured all o9f the air from the pump would go into the tyre. These modern pumps aren't screwed to the tyre valve, they're pressed on and quite a lot of the air you pump escapes. Nonethless, thanks for the video. Very clear. 👍

    • @cyclemaintenanceacademy
      @cyclemaintenanceacademy  Год назад

      Hey, thanks for your comment. Fair point! Modern pumps are more compact and easier to carry but there was something about the old pumps that made pumping up tyres easier and safer for the valves. I'm glad that you found the video clear and helpful.😄

    Well explained . Thanks. What is the lock and unlock postion of the lever? I believe "closed"position of lever is "unlock" and "arise" position of lever is "lock". Correct me if I am wrong. I am using similar type small Btwin hand pump.

    • @cyclemaintenanceacademy
      @cyclemaintenanceacademy  3 месяца назад

      Hi, thanks for your comment and I'm sorry for getting back to you sooner! I’m glad you found the explanation helpful. Regarding the lever positions, in most hand pumps, opening the lever compresses the rubber seal inside the head against the valve, creating an airtight seal. This allows for the effective tube inflation.

      Hi, thanks for the comment. I understand your frustration. You can try reaching out to the manufacturer or a local bike shop for a replacement part. Who knows, they might be able to help you out. If not then it might be time for a new pump. Keep your spirits up and happy riding!🙂
