    I wanted to choose AT&T service when signing up for US Mobile, but my imported Sony phone would be incompatible. Glad I chose T-Mobile service, as one who's also from San Diego. Twice as fast as my old Verizon service.

    I've been using Mint for about 6 weeks now and last week I downloaded the speed test app. So I've been checking speeds in my area (Hampton Roads, VA) wherever I happen to be. Yesterday I ran a check of Mint from the parking lot of the post office and got a whopping 812 Mbps! That's significantly faster than my Cox home internet (588 Mbps last night). I was truly shocked to get that sort of speed. Of course it was more of an aberration. Generally I've been getting more in the 100-250 Mbps range. And just a couple of hours after my post office test I was at a grocery store in the other direction and only got like 28 Mbps. So speeds can vary greatly over short distances (we're probably talking 5 miles as the crow flies) and time of day.

      After you use 40GB on Mint your speeds slow down to 512 kbps down/up. If you use less than 40GB a month, then Mint it's a great option.

    I’ve had both mint and visible. In the areas I had service I noticed mint typically had faster data speeds, but in my area I don’t have as many dead zones with visible. Furthermore, I noticed the call quality is better across the board with visible as well. Is there a reason this might be the case? I’ve always been curious about those differences

      Mint is T-Mobile and Visible is Verizon. We all know Verizon has better coverage compared to T-Mobile which has a lot of dead spots of coverage.

      Any idea why call quality is better on verizon/visible, but data speeds are slower. I thought they would be related, but in my experience that hasn't been the case

      Verizon call quality has always been good but speeds vary in different locations but speeds are better than AT&T.

    But does mint have the same rural coverage as AT&T ? Probably not

    • @rickwiese5438
      @rickwiese5438 Месяц назад +1

      It depends. Mint has coverage wherever T-Mobile has coverage, which means for the vast majority of people. All the carriers have their weaknesses in certain rural areas. And if you're looking for 5G, T-Mobile (and thus Mint) has more 5G coverage than AT&T and Verizon combined.

    This is embarrassing for AT&T where they got crushed by T-Mobile where Mint is deprioritized. Sherri its time to give up your grandfathered AT&T plan.

      All these phone services are pretty good but certain locations might be better than others depending on which one you are using.
