I love both of these guitars. The vibrola is supposed to help the guitar to be more balanced as you say...it was invented that way and helped to prevent neck dive. I actually went with the non-vibrola Gibson SG 61 reissue though... First because I got a killer deal on it... but also the is nothing worse than tuning issues when playing live... and that wammy/vibrola bar gets in the way... but I do like the look of both. I like the simplicity of the one I bought too... and it looks less like something from the Transformer's lol...
You sound great man! Is that a bit of an east coast accent I hear? Canada? I really like the way you present stuff on your channel and you really rock! Btw it looks the the regular one looks almost brown. Tough choice. I just picked up a 2022 sg Standard and love it except the stock pickups seem really loud and just a tad harsh but im trying to dial things in. Keep up the awesome work man!
@@Crypticmaskguitargot myself a used 2019 but I can’t keep the thing in tune for the life of me and I’m not using the vibrola at all. Tuning up to pitch and tugging on strings. Apparently it had a setup about 6 months ago. Should I just get it set up again?
There are a few things to try first. If it is not staying in tune even if you aren’t using the vibrola then the issue is very unlikely to be the vibrola/bridge. The issue is more than likely going to be from the Nut to the Posts. It could be that the nut slots aren’t wide enough or less likely is that there’s too much slack around the posts (too many wraps can cause this). If you haven’t put a fresh set of strings on it then that might be the route to go. when you change the strings grab a pencil and rub the lead into the nut slots and when you change the strings try less wraps around the post before you feed the string through the post. I generally go with 1 wrap for the E, A, D, and G, and 2 wraps for the B and High E strings. If you have already changed the strings then just loosen the strings and rub pencil lead into the nut slots. If that resolves the tuning issue then the Nut will be the culprit. From there you can either keep rubbing pencil lead into the nut slots every few months or you can have the nut slots filed a little better by a tech. Best of luck. Cheers -Ryan
These two are great , but I love your VHT and ENGL's too.

Could you please tell me which one has better sustain? or do they seem the same?
Vibrola so much cooler 🎼💪😎👍🎼
Just bought 1
Which year would you recommend picking up for the maestro? Looking at getting a used one. Not sure if they’re any different year to year
From 2019 on they would have the same specs. Cheers -Ryan

I feel with the vibrola is a bit hairier sounding
