To put into perspective just how bad of a deal this is, when the Stampede came out in 2010, it cost $49.99. Adjusted for inflation, that's $67.92, just over half the price of these things. And let's remember that the Stampede is full-auto, has tons of aftermarket support, and when it was new, it included 4 magazines, and 40 darts. Plus, you don't need to deal with rev-up time, bogdown, and the loud buzzing noises a full-auto flywheeler has to deal with, compared to the Stampede, where you just pull the trigger, and lay down foam.
Yeah, and there was also a sonic green stampede so Borg and or Matrix vibes can be had from it as well. Oh, and regardless of the colour, it basically makes pew pew lazer noises every time, possibly even when dryfired with an empty mag. Perfect ergonomics and rails for days. @@TrueNomadSkies Yes to the laser noises noises when dry fired, and cranking up the rate of fire makes it sound even cooler, though I wouldn't saw it has perfect ergonomics, considering how ludicrously back-heavy it is with stock alkalines. "Look how they massacred by boy." - Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone. This quote is how I felt when I saw the star trek nerf line. I guess they really did stick by their name and nerfed it
Gonna start by saying I love the return to the old school shooting style with the Beyblades. Now...I fully agree with you. And I'll add; this looks almost like a rush job from Hasbro. Like the laziest slapdash Star Trek TNG aesthetics, an almost random BuzzBee-esque color scheme, and as you said, no special bells or whistles. The Nerf Zombie Strike Contractor was more impressive all around. This is a bad, bad look. No judgement to Star Trek fans who buy this, I'm looking forward to some bitter disappointment when my Aliens Pulse Rifle arrives, but yikes.
Hey walcom,I recently gained a nerf warlock axe from a fanboy expo con,it was at a table that sold old school toys. I love this thing like it's my baby, and Id wish Hasbro did stuff like this more, something good, high quality, and wacky. This thing came out in 2009,and it still looks like I got it off the shelf, yeah there's paint smear here and there but it's not creasing or tearing, and it's of such good quality. There are screws actually molded into the foam, the foam has actual texture differences all over the different parts,it's foam is Ridgid but also safe. It's beautiful. Is it practical for a nerf war? Who cares!? It's a foam battle axe,it's beautiful to swing around,it's well balanced,it's fun and that's all I want from Hasbro But when I look at modern hasbro,I don't see that. I see cheap,I see crappy,I see impractical and not fun. I don't care if it's not half darts spiting,244 fps ranking, ect if it's atleast fun,I'm gonna be happy. And nothing looks fun,not the star trek, not the gel crap, not the stupid elite 2.0 nothing is fun or exciting to me. And the more I use the axe the more in reminded that Hasbro used to do cool amazing stuff,Hasbro used to make things that were fun, innovative, high quality, and even if they weren't geared for performance, that's why we had our modding community and we could take that you had and make it better. And now with all the locks and glue and with the dart zone pro,we both don't have to and don't have the ability to. I'm just butthurt and I wish, and hope that Hasbro will wake up and look at what they need to do. I'm very passionate about nerf in general and I just wish Hasbro did better. This axe is amazing and idk what to do with it. If you have suggestions for paints or modifications I'd love to hear them
I'm a big Star Trek fan (A fan of the older Star Trek series) and the two blasters look incredible however, Hasbro is asking for way too much money for it. I'll wait 2 or 3 years for the nonlimited versions to come out. After comparing the different prices that are based on the previous limited and non-limited Mandalorian amban phase pulse blaster prices. I can predict that if Hasbro did release a NON-limited version of the Star Trek blaster pack, it will retail for $52.80 USD. (The estimated price might be slightly lower than the future price.) Also, the scope isn't even real. I'll pick up the non-limited versions when they come out.
As a Star Trek fan, you are one of the percent right on the mark! No way would I ever shell out $120 for this crap. Nerf lost an opportunity to make something really cool. Instead, they gave us two of the dorkiest Nerf guns no one would ever want to buy. They should've given us the TOS laser rifle. Now that's a cool gun that would've been perfect for Nerf. And I'm sorry, but the hand phaser looks like it came out of the 1970s ATM Explorers kit. Nope! No way! Not buying it!
what was the revoltinator full price? I wanna say 45 to 50 bucks. and that had spark plug looking lights cyclotron lights sound and good size as well as amazing styling. why is this so much more $$$ for so much less.
how did they know that those 2 were my 2 favorite phaser weapons >.< i wish they didnt randomly throw greeen crap on the phaser rifle and call it borg....at least please replica ppl if ur gonna over charge. also the type 2 is a cool jolt, but why not just make it a normal release, or a exclusive to a certain store?
I hear everything you are saying about Hasbro in regards to Nerf and Bayblades however (this my be entirely due to their partnership with Takara) the main line transformers figures are getting pretty good in terms of design and quality despite certain areas needing dycast to once again replace the plastic
Its crazy cause there's some amazing blasters that were better in the regular lines! Like the halo ma40 and overwatch blasters all looked good and unique and some even offered more than what limited is doing. And they've already shown you can still just buy em, or a cheper version, so its not like it's super exclusive or whatever. Not like the haslab stuff at least. Besides, exclusives are a pain in the ass most of the time. If they're doing a "limited" premium thing, they should go all out! Like a halo ma40 with a working ammo counter, or perhaps more interesting and elaborate electronics and such in this "premium" line! I'd love a halo carbine or battle rifle or something. More halo stuff! Or hell, transformers would be a sick collab they could easily do, and give either transforming blasters like those old ones in like 2007, or props of character weapons! There's so much potential and so much stuff they could do! 😅👍🏻😔
The phase rifle shoots rival? Makes it more a charger than a stryfe. Doesn't change your point though. We'll see when it's released if it's any fun or not
It is over priced, but if you think,if y want it as a prop to modify, repaint etc. I have figured that 3d printing these and sanding painting electric's could be well over that price point. So I take this as a cheap starting base. But yeah, if I have extra funds I'd probably get it unless I find a better prop , but I know most props don't shoot anything so.... Still awesome video.
The adjustment feature of phasers could have been executed by swapping between Elite and Mega and maybe even adjusting the position of the flywheels to fit the different darts
As a massive Star Trek fan, I can tell you that I am disappointed with this type 3 blaster. Although I didn't have high expectations from it. It doesn't look like it's to scale and I really don't like that borg assimilation look.
You should give Hasbro a new name,"Hasbeen." Even I will never buy this Nerf blaster for any price, even if they give me these for free. They don't look right, and they're not painted in authentic Starfleet colors, and this is coming from a massive Star Trek fanatic. Now if they (Hasbeen) turned a jolt into a Original Series type two phaser with removable type one handphaser that squirts water for $20, then I'll buy it. Thank you for showing us this atrocious Nerf blaster set before anyone else. By the way, have you gotten the Aliens M-41a pulse rifle blaster? You'll be incredibly mad at Hasbeen, the magazine holder will not hold any other magazines other than it's own. I took mine back to GameStop and got my money back
I absolutely agree with you when the most important things should be giving the fans something that really meets the balance of the price that they're paying and the quality that they want it's okay to give us funny gimmicky things that aren't exactly what's on the box but then it shouldn't be $120.95 the Star Trek blasters look cool but not $125.95 school give us like 70 yards and not Elite darts maybe Nerf to give us their first prototype short darts maybe with a color that matches and they can actually make a blaster that's completely unique for these instead of just reskinning old blasters I don't mind the idea that these are license I don't like that the license is being abused to make cheap crap I'll be cheap crap that's not terrible but still cheep crap the jolt functions the strife functions the quality of Hasbro and blasters lately have not been great I don't always want something that's great for competitions going to blow my socks off with how fast that Arts fly out of there I want the new fun but if you're going to do something that's a license product or say something supposed to be New And improved and great and amazing you got to show something more than what you've already done in the past that was pretty good and possible and all right and meh I'm not saying Hasbro has become stagnant but maybe they could have given a short darts instead they're like oh hey you are playing with gel blasters now not even paying attention to the fact that that is a niggish mark it within subset of people who are playing with them dark blasters and that they could have changed the name of the company that was like on the box from nerve to something else I'll still being Hasbro and still being nerve so people weren't confused when buying gel blasters and foam dart blasters again to reiterate Hasbro could have announced and created short darts
I am a lifetime Star Trek fan and I agree with you Walcom. This is a stupid release. I’ve always wanted a phaser rifle as a Nerf blaster. However I think my $120 would be better spent sitting in a checking account until I discuss with a custom Nerf builder to custom build me a phaser rifle Nerf blaster that fires rival rounds. And then use that $120 as a deposit on that commission. My mind and my thumb are hovering over the preorder now button but I really feel like once I have it in-hand I’m going to have a regrettable amount of buyers remorse
Definitely agree with ya. Halo got good Assaulter, Aliens pulse rifle is overall gorgeous, and looking at E33 Boba's limited it looks decent. Trek got the short end of the stick and absolutely deserves better.
This looks cool, and being a Trek nerd I could not have clicked on this any faster... But for almost 200 Canadian I can't see myself biting it. Like, if I wanted to spend money on Nerf stuff the pawsibilities are endless, and if I wanted to spend money on Trek cosplay stuff it's going toward a Picard jacket.
Putting things into context I see the Aliens Pulse Rifle from Nerf selling between £200.00 and £400.00 both new and used. I would not mind having one but not at those prices. Yet I picked up a pair of Halo rifles for £30.00 each. They are decent prop replicas especially when repainted plus they perform pretty well also. If these Trek entries were at an affordable price then maybe. If they go the way of the Pulse Rifle then not a chance. And presently they are showing on eBay for an average of £150.00.....
the way to fix this would have been easy, make both motorized. have the handheld phaser have a 4-5 dart internal magazine since it has the room and have the longarm phaser load like the dartzone blasters wit the horizontally loading mag and load it in the back to hold half length darts since dartzone is embracing it, hasbro should catch up. these could take half lengths easily.
As a Nerf & Star Trek fan With that price I wish it was more show accurate and or use the vortex projectiles or more reasonably priced. I don't recall seeing an assimilated rifle.
okay so hear me out, You know what LMT nerf should do, The Halo Hunter set basically. Imagine the older swarm fire, except updated to modern nerf standards, with a more cosmetic appearance. just slightly smaller, maybe the size length of a retaliator, and the width of 3 of said retaliators side by side (most of this would be cosmetic plastic however), Make it fly wheel so you can one handily use it, and add (to make it worth £100-£200, add a foam / rubber shield, like the fuel rod cannon, it would be smaller than its real game counterpart.)
You're better off just fine a World of Wonder Starlyte laser tag blaster secondhand, it's the same effect. Also if you like Star Trek check out The Orville!
I appreciate you speaking on this. I fully agree that it is nothing more than a cash gram and I too would like to see them do more with the brand because this truly is unacceptable.

Who cares!?
It's a foam battle axe,it's beautiful to swing around,it's well balanced,it's fun and that's all I want from Hasbro
But when I look at modern hasbro,I don't see that.
If you have suggestions for paints or modifications I'd love to hear them
The "upside down" song fits these complaint videos pointing out where Hasbro is going wrong way too well...things are indeed upside down
I'm a big Star Trek fan (A fan of the older Star Trek series) and the two blasters look incredible however, Hasbro is asking for way too much money for it.
They'll be on Amazon warehouse for 60 about 3 months after stores get them and 9 months before preorderers get them.
I watched three episodes of Beavis and Butthead today lol
As a Star Trek fan, you are one of the percent right on the mark! No way would I ever shell out $120 for this crap. Nerf lost an opportunity to make something really cool. Instead, they gave us two of the dorkiest Nerf guns no one would ever want to buy. They should've given us the TOS laser rifle. Now that's a cool gun that would've been perfect for Nerf. And I'm sorry, but the hand phaser looks like it came out of the 1970s ATM Explorers kit. Nope! No way! Not buying it!
I have to admit. Which Ferengee decided the price of that piece of plastic?
Brunt.
I laughed out loud when I saw this.
“Has to doesn’t make good stuff anymore”
Jurassic Park fans: “First time?”
Beam me up Scotty. Hasbro has no intelligent life forms left 🤣
Nerf and star trek makes a nerf blaster
Everyone else: WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING OOOONNN
Ridge Racer Arcade machine in the background Woo Hoo🙌💙!!
what was the revoltinator full price? I wanna say 45 to 50 bucks. and that had spark plug looking lights cyclotron lights sound and good size as well as amazing styling. why is this so much more $$$ for so much less.
I know that Nerf performance blaster’s are rival but at least make the newer blasters to still have 90+ fps
they should have made these HYPER blasters IMHO but i guess HYPER is dead too
I cut all that stuff out, but you're right.
There's a new Hyper blaster either out or on its way, but yes, they have more dart formats than they can use.
I noticed you're often times the very first nerf youtuber to post theese new blasters. To me its magic!
Speaking of collab, Id love to see a warhammer bolt gun made by dart zone. But maybe in the faaaar future
It would have to shoot Mega XL darts and be individually blessed by the Emperor.
@@100Servings cant argue the emperor's blessing
I'd prefer a "Pro" grade belt-feeder that's basically a LAMG or PK but foam flinging, but that's neat too.
That rev trigger looks smaller than the amount of patience I have for hasbro
how did they know that those 2 were my 2 favorite phaser weapons >.< i wish they didnt randomly throw greeen crap on the phaser rifle and call it borg....at least please replica ppl if ur gonna over charge. also the type 2 is a cool jolt, but why not just make it a normal release, or a exclusive to a certain store?
New drinking game
Take a shot every time the words "120 dollars" is said
I hear everything you are saying about Hasbro in regards to Nerf and Bayblades however (this my be entirely due to their partnership with Takara) the main line transformers figures are getting pretty good in terms of design and quality despite certain areas needing dycast to once again replace the plastic
Remember that time there was an evil Spock with a mustache?
That like the one interesting thing I know at all about Star Trek.
I couldn't find my goddamned evil Spock shirt.
as a star trek nerd this a bad idea i mean they will not even be practcole
Is that on your Shirt a genius crossover between Cowboy Bebop and Beavis and Butthead? 😮
Now we wait for the non painted version for $80. 🤣 I was also laughing at the marketing blurb. 🤣 Thank you walcom for this video. 👏🏻
Did Wal ever review that eaglestone foam blaster that gets belt fed and looks like a red AR15???
The adjustment feature of phasers could have been executed by swapping between Elite and Mega and maybe even adjusting the position of the flywheels to fit the different darts
As a massive Star Trek fan, I can tell you that I am disappointed with this type 3 blaster. Although I didn't have high expectations from it. It doesn't look like it's to scale and I really don't like that borg assimilation look.
The bare minimum would've been glow-in-the-dark darts
So as of September 8th 2022. GameStop has for $5.99 on preorder, don’t know if they’ll honor that price come release date. I preordered one.
So the Revoltinator and Contractor are still the lights and sounds kings... at $32 and $40? apiece.
yes very much Skeem
And videos like this is why i have an adventure force and dart zone collection.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BRINGING BEYBLADE INTO THIS!!! HASBRO IS A STRAIGHT UP JOKE
" We got you surrounded, come buy your 120$ blaster "
I HATE JOLT RESKINS!!! I HATE JOLT RESKINS!!
I took mine back to GameStop and got my money back
I still like Hasbruh.
I'm gonna go with my 380 pound gut and say this will be $50 in less than a year.
Tbh we should just not buy this at all and maybe hasbro will realize. "Hey our customers want QUALITY"
I absolutely agree with you when the most important things should be giving the fans something that really meets the balance of the price that they're paying and the quality that they want it's okay to give us funny gimmicky things that aren't exactly what's on the box but then it shouldn't be $120.95
the Star Trek blasters look cool but not $125.95 school give us like 70 yards and not Elite darts maybe Nerf to give us their first prototype short darts maybe with a color that matches and they can actually make a blaster that's completely unique for these instead of just reskinning old blasters I don't mind the idea that these are license I don't like that the license is being abused to make cheap crap I'll be cheap crap that's not terrible but still cheep crap the jolt functions the strife functions the quality of Hasbro and blasters lately have not been great I don't always want something that's great for competitions going to blow my socks off with how fast that Arts fly out of there I want the new fun but if you're going to do something that's a license product or say something supposed to be New And improved and great and amazing
you got to show something more than what you've already done in the past that was pretty good and possible and all right and meh I'm not saying Hasbro has become stagnant but maybe they could have given a short darts instead they're like oh hey you are playing with gel blasters now not even paying attention to the fact that that is a niggish mark it within subset of people who are playing with them dark blasters and that they could have changed the name of the company that was like on the box from nerve to something else I'll still being Hasbro and still being nerve so people weren't confused when buying gel blasters and foam dart blasters again to reiterate Hasbro could have announced and created short darts
Hasbruh Hasbuhs the Hasbruhing of a thousand Hasbruhs. At this point I'm surprised they aren't just selling boxes of air for 200 bucks.
Loving the Phantasy Star music.
Props for using phantasy star online music
I bet the darts aren’t even the firefly darts.
I'd take the type 2 hand phaser in a heartbeat.
God I hope the Alien Pulse Rifle doesn't have any issues. I got mine coming next month
Honestly I wouldn’t mind watching you review bey blades
You are exactly correct on this, I tried to order but out of stock so they cancelled my order
The blasters look cool enough I'd pay a premium for it, but no more than $50.
i wonder how the rifle mag works
As a Nerf & Star Trek fan With that price I wish it was more show accurate and or use the vortex projectiles or more reasonably priced. I don't recall seeing an assimilated rifle.
okay so hear me out,
You know what LMT nerf should do,
The Halo Hunter set
basically.
Imagine the older swarm fire, except updated to modern nerf standards, with a more cosmetic appearance.
just slightly smaller, maybe the size length of a retaliator, and the width of 3 of said retaliators side by side (most of this would be cosmetic plastic however),
Make it fly wheel so you can one handily use it,
and add (to make it worth £100-£200, add a foam / rubber shield, like the fuel rod cannon, it would be smaller than its real game counterpart.)
You're better off just fine a World of Wonder Starlyte laser tag blaster secondhand, it's the same effect. Also if you like Star Trek check out The Orville!
Why is this even a thing?
I appreciate you speaking on this. I fully agree that it is nothing more than a cash gram and I too would like to see them do more with the brand because this truly is unacceptable.
Feeling the pain there big guy. Hasbro can, quite frankly, "Yob Tovjemadj".
Finally , I can reenact the Skirmish of AR-558
once AGAIN the foam flinging maestro himself has spoken true facts.
GIVE US A DIFFERENT STRYFE VARIANT NERF IM BEGGING YOU
If they're gonna do it, make it Ultra and give us 40 shots. And make the little one hold like 4 ultra rounds. THAT would be at least useable.
I do agree, it's a 119.95 strife.
For the price I could get the several of the 90's playmates Star Trek TNG / DS9 phasers. Just as equal in scale with better detail.
My dad loves Star Trek he love this gun
Hey walcom did you see the other LMTD blaster they're making, the Boba Fett EE-3 blaster?
