Oooh.....you ain't a shittin! They stretch a lot when new. I've had to adjust my 2020 690 chain a couple times in the first 1000 miles. I really enjoy mine but, if you do get one....be aware of a few known issues they have. Such as clutch slave cylinder failure. Mine failed at 86 miles (they may have fixed it on the 2021s) countershaft seal leaks.
@@MuscleBandit in the US. This crap has been a known issue forever. Weak fuel pumps too. Mine is acting up at 1300 miles. I am installing a lifetime warranted Quantum this week. Warranty replacement is a waste of time. They replace with the same Chinese pump that is weak.

Awesome bike! I also have the 690 but with RapidBike tuning and the akra racing line with the tekmo header and DNA filter, she was pumping out 80hp!! Now i had it downtuned to 77hp and raised the torque up...it’s an absolute weapon XD You will love the smf decals once they are on!

Trust me buy the smcr 2020 or an used 2019 all Bikes 19/20/21 are the Same Bikes but 19/20 is Euro4 Emissions and 2021 model ist Euro5 and has more Kats in the Pipe and exhaust... The 72hp He is talking comes from the Kats...

@@AdventureBert niiice yea im the same gearing on mine I really think that if I put it back to 16 front I'll still hit 3rd gear clutch ups but probably won't power wheelie in 3rd that dam rotty intake made a world of difference but I'll probably leave it how it is I like having a little more low end I noticed I use more fuel when I'm holding it open on highway for long runs but if I'm just putting around gainesville or even cruising at 55 or 60 it gets insane gas mileage But that sucks about the nail I've been hoping I don't get one In a way it sucks having tubes because you can't just put a plug but then again with tubes you can patch it which is way safer Did u make it home or have to break it apart on the road

yea i really like this skid plate its not as low profile and clean looking as the p3 but idk i kind of like the look its grown on me and they have cutouts for when you do the oil change dont have to remove it which is nice but i think eventually ill get all the carbon bling for her and lmaoo ikr the horn is kinda funny but its really loud ive used it several times to get peoples attention damn clueless drivers

@@AverageCarGuy straight up when it was totally stock i was pretty disappointed with it i was used to my ktm 530 being able to do clutch ups at super low rpms being real snappy but yea it would do 2nd gear clutch ups for me but seemed very sluggish but after doing the exhaust it seemed a little better but the major difference was the intake the stock intake is extremely restricted once i changed it out i did the dna filter first it opened the bike up quite a bit and i would probably have been happy leaving it on the dna filter but because of it being a dirt magnet i got the rottweiler intake and going to that i noticed even more of an increase in performance the bike is wayyy more snappy and wants to power wheelie it feels like it should

thanks and hell yea youre going to really love this bike i am still having a blast with mine and i would recomend to do it dry i did try once with soap and water but for graphics it doesnt really do any good because of all the curves the best thing you can do is have a heat gun or blow dryer it really helps the vinyl stretch and conform to the curves, most graphics kits are made of thicker vinyl so you shouldnt have too many bubbles you still have to try to make sure it lays down flat but its not like normal vinyl that captures bubbles like crazy lol

I can only speak for my state which is Florida as far as I know here we do not have any state inspection so literally you can do just about anything you want to any of your vehicles for performance mods the only thing I can remotely think of that would get you in trouble is like blue or red lights on a vehicle stupid stuff like that the other question about the pp seat lol it basically feels exactly just as uncomfortable as the stock seat in my opinion but looks cooler lol and more grip

The FMF muffler is just the 4.1 for the SXF no? I’m really disappointed with the aftermarket exhaust options for the 690. I ordered mine and it’s coming soon, but I can’t decide what to do for the exhaust. Most pipes are too big, and the fmf looks sick, but a little pricey. Not to mention having to custom fit it
yes i believe so i just know it was for the 2018 500 i think its the same pipe for all of the 500s and yea i agree with you there its so stupid fmf doesnt make one for the 690 and the way they make the tank it kind of wraps around the exhaust so its a tight fit and you have to get the header angled just right but it definitely can be done, it seems like people that get the tekmo header have a better time getting it to fit up to the fmf without having to cut it as much lol but thats another 400 somethin bucks

nope i traded er in about a year ago for my 2022 yamaha mt10, i do sometimes miss the 690 but i still have my ktm 530 exc supermoto and i like it more because its way lighter and wheelies super easy but i would say get the power commander if you plan to get the rotweiler intake otherwise i think it will run pretty lean

Why are no ECU manufacturers supporting 2021 690/701? I've read that it's because of the stock ECU being able to recognize them and will throw off errors. I'm calling dynojet on Monday to figure it out.

Yes just 1 down on front sprocket and thanks I feel like for the type of riding I've been doing that was enough i do some highway riding so it's still snappy and very smooth at higher speeds
i did get the fi light the first time i installed the sas delete resistor backwards you wouldnt think it has to be in the correct orrientation but if you get the fi light take that resistor out and flip it around and it should go away only other time ive had fi light is when i had it dyno'd when the front wheel speed sensor doesnt detect any movement after the bike has been balls to wall on a dyno it throws fi light until you ride it for about 20 minutes or so and cycle the key
its a chinese one from ebay if you search for tail tidy for this year 690 it should pop up they are pretty much the same as the r&g tail tidy but for a quarter of the price and honestly better because you dont have to drill it out to fit the drc led light on it
its the 2021 us model essentially the only thing i think they changed on the us model was color of plastics no new speedo like euro model got, and power commander best place to get is from rottweiler performance they preload maps on there for u depending on what exhaust and lifetime free maps from them im pretty sure if u dont have a local dyno and the fmf i just got on amazon its for a 500 you have to custom fit it

Yepp I did Well when I first put it on I had the power commander and put it on at same time rottweiler performance loaded the map on there for me I wouldn't run it without the power commander or atleaat the fueling dongle
@@Bwright214 no problem at all and you know im not exactly sure about putting it on with stock exhaust it probably cant hurt because these bikes are pretty lean on the stock tune but yea i would say if youre slowly going to do the mods instead of all at once id start with fuel dongle and power commander that way when youre ready to get the exhaust u wont have to worry about running the bike lean because if you put an aftermarket exhaust and change the air filter without putting a power commander with pre loaded tune its going to run super super lean

im talking about power wheelies mostly idk maybe the bike i got has shitty clutch plates or something and its not my error lmao anyway my bike is good after doing the mods still doesnt feel as snappy doing wheelies as my 530exc
And you can't fairly compare a 2015 to a 2021 I know it's the same lc4 motor but ktm has almost definitely tuned these bikes different
@@psyfertech Ktm definitely gave your bike more beans, so I mean if my 15 can clutch up 3rd no issues than yours definitely should. But I would never expect any bike to power wheelie 3rd on the street. To each their own. Power wheelies are a good way to chase a wheelie. Cheers m8, I dig your bikes mods.

bullshit, 6 hp more with a rotty rather than a DNA, jeesus, that pipe will lose you power at the very top end of the rev range as well. DNA all the way, that rotty sounds like a meow, the DNA barks.

Well when I first put it on I had the power commander and put it on at same time rottweiler performance loaded the map on there for me
I wouldn't run it without the power commander or atleaat the fueling dongle

@@Bwright214 no problem at all and you know im not exactly sure about putting it on with stock exhaust it probably cant hurt because these bikes are pretty lean on the stock tune but yea i would say if youre slowly going to do the mods instead of all at once id start with fuel dongle and power commander that way when youre ready to get the exhaust u wont have to worry about running the bike lean because if you put an aftermarket exhaust and change the air filter without putting a power commander with pre loaded tune its going to run super super lean
