Wait, wait. Your telling me on top of blue-ringed octopuses, stonefish, and gympie gympie plants, Australia now is home to Cthulhu? That....sounds about right.
This has been on my wish list forever and with a couple of gift cards and a randomly low price on Amazon yesterday, I picked it up for $22. I’m not a fan of games with combat BUT this game looks just like something I would enjoy esp 1st half of the game. Thanks for the run through! Im excited to get it to the table.
I like the zeppelin. That 4 range flight is good. They can just sail out and if they take a hit, move back. They are even better if you get the guy who gives them 3 hits. I don't like to just have one type of troop though. It helps to have several types due to the battle cards. Also, with the Zepplin I like to hit Cthulu counters far away in the top corner. That reveals them (giving less points to Cthulu), causing them to move towards me possibly even getting on the train line. It helps me choose when to affect them. I think you left a few of these guys too long. You were really focused on getting leaders. Thanks for the play through. It made we want to play again, which I will do on Sunday. Yeah!
Rahdo, it seems like you love all of your recent reviewed games. Do you refuse to make reviews if games you didn't loved/liked playing, or...? I just find it hard to figure out HOW much fun you've had playing the last couple of games compared to one another. Perhaps giving it a score from 1-10 as well would help someone like myself out 🤗
Very nice :) But one could argue it's still hard to know how much you liked the game. Personally I can't afford all your "I really, really, really enjoyed this game" 😂 So if I were to take a chance I would go for the ones you (perhaps among others too) rate the highest 🤗 Btw are the smilies visible to everyone else too it is it just on my own screen? 'cause I'm really trying not to offend anyone. I'm always looking forward to your videos - and I would gladly wait 30 sec for an add just to make you some money too.
the most important message from that link steve posted is that I strongly strongly strongly recommend that you not base any purchasing decisions on my own personal subjective opinion, but instead use the runthrough to decide instead. who cares what i think? i'm just some guy. i try to make the videos the equivalent of having played the game, so you can decide for yourself if it looks like it's fun enough to pick up.
I was so exited for this game even with the cthulu “theme”... right up until the combat part. Its like all the worst parts of going to a casino. 42 minutes of getting exited just to be stopped by a huge wall of nope! Too bad. At least i get to save some cash. Great run through though, thanks!
Hi Richard, what happens, if I inflict damage on an Old One, but do not have (any/enough) marker cubes in my HQ? Thank you very much for an amswer, Phil
sorry i filmed this over 9 months ago, and i don't really remember the specifics. if you head over to boardgamegeek and look the game up there, you'll find a rules forum you can post the question to, and you'll definitely get an answer :)
Huh, I must be a super fan Rahdo! I didn't see anyone else pick on you for saying "mechanic." 8:35 Never mind, the character might have been a literal mechanic, haha
@Rhodo you seemed to have made Kapena Alika a bit more powerful than he's sposed to be, by forgetting to put a cube on the attack action the first time, and then putting a 2nd cube and paying 1 gold for the 2nd attack and a 3rd cube and 2 gold for the 3rd attack that happened in the same turn as the 2nd attack on your farm at about 1-04 to 1-08
From all this scurrying left to right and up and down of your head-cam I really had to puke, which did not happen for years. The worker placement, build up, tracklaying, mining are a nice composition. But all the hazards of fighting (lucky type of creature, lucky move direction, lucky hittting, lucky hit receiving,) make the result nearly pure luck. I will not buy this game because of the fighting system. Thank you for this run-through, it helped me to decide.

It sounds like you had a great time with this. Thanks for the playthrough!

I have been feeling this too. I find it hard to get excited about a game rahdo raves about recently when he raves about Everything now.

Backed this today - solo mode clinched it for me
at 48:19 you award *both* the VP tokens (3 divided by 2, lose the remainder) to Jen, then you give yourself a VP. You should have received one each
It was already noted... Like Rahdo says at the start of the 1st video, please turn on the Klingon subtitles to see where Richard goofs up… Thanks :)

Didn't expect this to be a Cthulhu game.
I KNOW RIGHT!?!

great game thanks for the walk through . i sure will get this game :)
If you attacjed the Migo with the zeppelin and armored vehicle, would you automatically kill it due to your recruits?
it's possible (i don't remember how many hitpoints the migo had)
Two hit points with a range of one? (58:20)
Good run through Rahdo. You are making less mistakes all the time.
oh i doubt that!
@@rahdo as long as fun is had....who cares!? Adore your content sir.
Great runthrough, Rahdo! Thank you!
Hello! When an Old one reachs a farm this is destroyed immediately, losing two victory points. You only can defend your port.
He had a character who let him defend farms
Ups! I didn't notice
Huh, I must be a super fan Rahdo! I didn't see anyone else pick on you for saying "mechanic." 8:35
Never mind, the character might have been a literal mechanic, haha
you had me scared there for a minute!
Thanks for the great play through
Rahdo, mate... this game looks really good.
Thanks for the play through... So close to dropping the coin for this... Lol
This game reminds me of an Aussie book "the day after tomorrow". Check it out
Sorry, wrong movie and book. It was "Tomorrow when the War Began."
Did Richard gave Jen 2 points at 48:00?
Yep! Missed your comment and added my own. Kudos to you ;)

Do you overreact to card flips for the camera or is that how you really play games?
i'm trying to be very natural wherever possible
Interesting, but the board art is a turn off right :/ Maybe it'll be updated through stretch goals
What the hell is the klingon channel? You always mention it but never heard you explain what it is :/

"The Western Colonizers?"
should i have put it some other way?

FYI check the show notes, there's always static cam options for the videos...
I dont like the game. Fights are too simple, the whole game is to simple. I only Play for my own. No really confrontation to my gaming Partners...
