Awesome thanks for sharing. I have several 100gn and 125gn Swhackers that I use for deer and other critters. I just ordered a pack of 150gn for this spring turkey season.

      Absolutely! Happy to help!
Be sure to spend some time shooting and adjusting your sights. I was surprised how much fps I lost with the 150gr swhacker vs my normal stinger 150gr 2 blade head

When is the last time you checked ATA measurement and timing?
If your ATA is off the bow is going to shoot slightly slower which will make your shots lower.

The bow has consistently shot 375fps since I bought it and added the extra 50gr in broadhead weight. Before that is was around 395-405 I believe.
This broadhead just dropped off a little more than my fixed blade does at 50yds, but it is longer. For turkeys, I am hoping to shoot them all within 30yds or less since its a small margin for error.
Do you think the length difference and/or shape decreased the velocity over the further distance compared to my fixed blade?

@@reviveoutdoors4him I suppose it’s possible, but the first thing you want to do is measure your ATA.
If it’s longer than what it’s supposed to be the string has stretched and it will shoot slower.
Is the Swhacker head the same weight as your fixed blade?
One other thing on the Swhacker heads …… if you were ever concerned about them pre-deploying in flight double band them. This will have absolutely no effect on them upon impact.

@@charlesbeaver5665 yes it is the same grain, but its a good bit longer than my fixed is. I know those “tick/timing” marks are slightly off but it’s a really small amount and it came back that way from the factory when I had to have it restrung for blowing up in the case the first year I had it.
Their warranty team was great about it.

@@reviveoutdoors4him you want that bow in perfect time meaning split evenly on the dots and you want the ATA in spec.
For Ravin to send that bow back to you without the timing dots being perfectly split and or the ATA measurement being off was real sloppy on their part. You would be surprised on the performance with either measurement being only slightly off, especially at longer distances

@@charlesbeaver5665 I haven’t had any issues with my fixed blade up to 90 yds. It’s right on the money

Have you ever tried that broadhead on deer?

    • @reviveoutdoors4him
      @reviveoutdoors4him  4 месяца назад

No I have not because of how bad it drops in accuracy after 30 yards. I would also be concerned with penetration because of how much drag those blades create.
