Ohh… you think that’s the “only”part of the SID I ignore?? 😂
😅
Getting to know more about how to properly fly IFR procedures thanks to your videos! Absolutely loving it!
Hi Emmanuel, great video as always. Just wanted to say that I didn’t know you was a controller for Vatsim Germany until you controlled us today out of stuttgart but like everything you do it, was amazing and keep up the great work.
Thanks for videos like this. It can be very hard to find out what to do when something goes wrong. Dealing with failures is one of the more interesting parts of simming.
Awesome content, thank you very much for showing this. I always wondered where pilots get their information for EOSIDs from. Now I know it.
Your videos are a great resource to the flight sim community. Thank you for creating such a great youtube channel.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for sharing these executions and tips! Just make our Simming even more realistic
Thank you as always. Learning to implement more procedures on regular flights.
Interesting as always, thanks !
Thanks again!
Very nice content! This is very useful! This isn't related to the video, but do you know the reasoning behind your airline's "gear up, positive rate" callout?
I don't ignore these when I fly an aircraft with activated failures. ;)
But I have to say that programming them is much easier with the A320 and its secondary flightplan feature.
absolutely amazing videos thanks so much
These videos are amazing!
Great Video, as always!
One small detail i noticed, can you always cut off the warning horn for "landing gear not down" by pressing the rest button on the minimum selector?
Great video, very interesting how to program the holding. I've got one question regaring "KID" in EDDK. It's always written in the NOTAMs that it replaces KBO but I've never found it in the charts. Is it a navaid (VOR or DME or somthing) or just a waypoint?
Very well explained
Very interesting. How did you cancel the warning horn, please?
Great information Emanuel :) And the AP? It can't be use here?
I use your videos so often for the Ryanair LPC OPC RSTs 😅
Good info on showing how can pilots include plan B in the flight plan. For 737, how do we change/interrupt current flight plan with direct to new waypoint just like in airbus?
E.g. Change from > Wypt1 > wypt2 > wypt 3
To wypt0 > wypt1 > wypt2 >wypt3?
Very instructive content, would you mind explaining why dont you set max thrust for the remaining engine when climbing ?
You'd do that once the flaps are retracted. As outlined in the video however the emphases was on correct application of the EO SID and other parts of the procedure were sacrificed for that, at least once flaps up was indicated.
Hi, i have a question, how do you create a holding when the EOSID is straight ahead to 25nm and HOLD, thx for the vid
hELLO !! I have a question : how to create a holding point when the Eosid published does not show a waypoint in the chart ?
I have my EOsids from the OPT excel that used to be free
If the engine ever goes out on a 737 I'm flying on, I want you to be the pilot . . . calm . . . cool . . . collected . . . professional.
I would say 'how dare you say that' but what I actually mean is 'yeah, you're right' 😂
How do I enter the Holding at Runwaytrack 25nm and how do I find the Height for the holding?
very interesting
Not only are you showing us and teaching this also has to be good practice for you
This should also lead into the usage of NOTAMS. Granted in the Sim no navaid suddenly becomes inoperative but just looking at Cologne's NOTAM's it says that KBO is unusable and one should use KID DME readings instead. So the EOSID would need to be changed accordingly if one were to go full realism.
Now tell the airlines. We took 4 months until that change was implemented 😂
@@A330Driver While we are at it, I just took off from Vienna and was throughly confused by what I found on Blackbox's site.
For RW 29 it reads:
"At 7.4 DMW FMD 110.4 LT BRK 408 Hold".
What the is DMW supposed to mean? Shouldn't that read DME? And BRK 408 indiactes to me that this should be an NDB freuqency of 408.
But there is no BRK NDB, only a BRK VOR but that one is in the U.S.
So what am I supposed to do here?
I used the EOSID that came with TOPCAT all these years ago and that still would work:
CLIMB STRAIGHT AHEAD TO 2100FT. TURN LEFT TO SNU (D115.50) CLIMBING TO 5000FT AND HOLD (350/R).
Best title I have ever seen 😅
How would you enter the "straight ahead to 25nm" fix when there are no suitable points in the FMC to base that fix off of? E.g. entering the runway of your departure aerodrome usually doesn't work, maybe if you're lucky there is a VOR right next to the runway you could use, even then there is a slight offset of the radial compared to the runway track.
Departure Aerodrome Reference Point should roughly work.
Hi, your videos are very informative, I love them. Would you be able to make a video on non standard departures and arrivals? I am trying to learn but need some help
What kind of non standard would you be looking for?
@@A330Driver Not really sure tbh, but what I mean is: when there is no SIDs or STARs at an airport where do you find the procedures to depart and arrive, and how do you read them
Would you consider using rte2 for eosid during preflight ?
No RTE2 in the PMDG 737 unfortunately
In case of an engine failure isn’t a good idea to put on fmc max continues thrust or at least to delete the limitation on the CLB thrust?
Once your Flaps are retracted yes.
Before that no as increasing thrust will increase Vmca. Thus you might loose directional control of the aircraft.
Thank you!
9:48 why did gear horn go off? Is that realistic? Wasnt that in the ngx?
Bug
I usualy put it on the fixes and the freq on stby
If your SID doesn't require the use of both frequencies I'd also preselect the EOSID on the Radios. Most SIDs however seem to need multiple VORs if the EOSID is also based on them and then we normally prefer tuning a conventional backup of the SID over one of the EOSID. Chances to need the backup of the SID are higher than needing a conventional backup of the EOSID.
My airline policy when it comes to engine out SID is to just put after burner on the engine that is still running, simple !
always good content! How common is it to enter the hold waypoint like this? I guess you dont do it 100% of the time
I pretty much do it on every flight.
It simply reduces workload if things happen and anything I don't have to do while flying single engine is something good.
@@A330Driver Yeah, but considering how much time and effort you put into doing that, compared to how much time and effort you save when it actually happens, (and the risk of it happening)
is it worth it? dont get me wrong, I am not critisizing, I am just curious. What I mean is... if it takes 4 minutes extra on EVERY flight, to do that.... and it only saves you 5 minuts on every 1 flight out of... what? ... 200?. Is it still worth it? I dont know! I might be. That is what I am curious about :)
Can you please make a video of the STAR and APP of RWY 27 EDLV (Niederrhein). I’m a bit confused how to use the charts.
Every single time I’ve flown there in the real world we got either radar vectors or a direct to the FAF. Not once have I flown a STAR there.
@@A330Driver Thx for your answer! :)
I already thought that you got vectors or a direct to the FAF by ATC. But, I think, it would be interesting how to fly it like it’s published. For me it looks not possible and that’s the point that confuses me. So maybe, if u have the time and inclination, you can make an explanation. ☺️🤩
Thank you very much vor your answer!
is there any possiblity to obtain that performance calculation tool ?2
Yes of course! You can find it on virtualperformancetool.com.
Whats the name of the application you use to calculate the takeoff performance?
Virtualperformancetool
Need wake help, when going toga on takeoff, it beeps and say takeoff config in red, I have spoilers unarmed. Please help !
If your spoilers are not armed that leaves trim outside of green band and Flaps not in takeoff config or parking brake set as your remaining options.
@@A330Driver Works just fine now, but 1 more question 😅
I’m clicking on VNAV/LNAV and they just flash for a second and don’t turn on, I have flight director turned on and u
Autopilot on in the air ? Any ides ?
at 0.33 you said for every single runway in world has a EOsid i here to tell you that is not true cause not every single runway have a sid departure so your are giving false infomation cause my local airport dont have sids nor starts cause it a GA only airport so you need go look again at the infomation that you trying to tell
In most GA aircraft, you don't need an EOSID - you need a forced landing checklist!
I mean, I guess his wording could have been better, but might be splitting hairs at this point since I doubt a 737 or any commercial jet is going to be flying into a GA only airport.
So what are you going to do when you fly a multi engine aircraft out of those places? Follow a route or blindly fly into nowhere? There's your EO SID. Who's talking bs now? 😘
Presumptuous title :) It's like those "blah blah more than you think" titles.
Show me a single flight sim video from a non-real-life-pilot where the pilot actually takes the EO SID into account and prepares it accordingly. Then we talk ;-)
@@A330Driver Well, I'm not a pilot or a youtuber but I do prepare my EOSIDs, even though I know I won't have any failures because they are disabled. It is true that it is not what is most abundant when flying in simulators, but it is because when you fly a homemade simulator, what you want is to fly. I partly agree with Rusty Dog, a bit presumptuous.
Respectfully
@@A330Driver I'm not saying you're wrong. But you've kinda moved the goalposts by limiting it to non real-life pilots when you did state 'ALL'.
You cannot presume 'all'.
A better way would be to say 'The part of the SID that most of you may not know about'. Then it's not so patronising.
To suggest ignoring means that they DO know about it and choose not ignore it.
You can't ignore something you don't know about. :)
@@machmuler There you go.
A bit of clickbait for sure
