Thank you so much Jeremy. I had a client years ago who insisted she did NOT want to look at the balance sheet. Until she was audited and it was using information on the balance sheet that I was able to answer their questions and put the audit to rest quickly! After that she agreed to let me explain the balance sheet to her! Also many businesses may be "cash basis" for tax purposes, but you still need to run your business on an accrual basis. Good tutorial , but are these accounts like “services” premade or do we have to set up the accounts our selfs - and then also specify if it’s one of those 5 account types ?
Services are what you will find in your "Products and services" list. The accounts are where your transactions get aggregated for financial reports like the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss.
very informative and well explained basics of bookkeeping , i would really appreciate if you may also show us how to record depreciation in the books with the example of buying fixed asset of computer equipment!
Hi. For the QuickBooks Online part you either need to set up your own company to practice on, or Google QBO Test Drive and you will find a sample company you can play around with.
@@lisawhitefield40 That would probably be too much work, but you should be able to post things, and check the impact on the Balance Sheet and P&L just the same. You can even create new accounts while you are in there, just to see the impact more clearly. But if you leave the sample QBO company everything resets. It might just be worth paying for a QBO Company 50% off through QBOA just to have a place to learn and test things.

What if you have loads of transactions on a e-commerce store is there a way of automatic entries ?
There are many apps and tools available to help with that. It just depends on exactly where you're selling, and what kind of volume etc...
how do you get quickbooks payroll to come up on your register
