Thanks to our buddy Justin (one of the players in our game), who doesn't own a 3d printer, but subs to the Lord of The Print, for hitting our gaming group up with his file so I can print it for him and then try to kill his character with it!

Thanks for showing the failures, it’s really hard for a lot of people to get into this hobby because of the amount of failures you get in the beginning. Thanks for showing the reward of sticking to it! 👍👍

So refreshing to see an honest representation of what 3d printing is like!
It's not just plug and play most of the time. Its often tinkering, learning from mistakes, adjusting, and THEN coming away with an awesome final product.
Great video and beautiful dragon! Thanks for showing the whole process, videos like this are invaluable for people just getting into the hobby!

I really felt your struggle. I sub Lord of the Print for half a year now and printed at least 8 of their drangons during this time. The supports of the bigger models are always very flimsy. My golden approach is to go with the presupported files and then reinforce the print with additional supports here and there. It works fine for me and takes way less time than supporting everything myself.

This is what I do. I open the files in Lychee slicer, do a scan for islands, add support to them automatically using medium supports, add a pile of heavy supports manually and then use the brace support feature to brace everything. Since I started doing it this way I haven't had a single failed print.

I just started 3D printing and it's pretty cool, but I have myself this print file that has multiple pieces of the print I want to, well you know, print. But the amount of pieces on the build plate is too much for the size of my build plate, a lot of the pieces are sticking out and won't print. What do I do or what program should I use to separate the pieces into their own files. I can fix the problem by down scaling the model but I really want to keep it at the current size.
