My favorite part of this whole stream is that his first instinct isn't to make a fancy house or go straight for diamonds and enchantments, but to remodel the first village he finds because the farming irrigation just ticks him off that bad
I’ve been listening in while playing SDV, have never played Minecraft in my entire life, and still lost it at like 2:11:00-ish when Dan was like, “What is THAT? What was that noise? Oh god! Don’t worry about it~ I don’t think that registered on the subtitles, either…” Meanwhile, the subtitles: EeRie NoISe
6:30 Well; the nether, oceans, caves, mountains, and villages have all undergone a complete and total overhaul, the world is now 128 blocks taller, iron and gold now work like redstone and lapis, and there's a gear material stronger than diamond now.
1:11:00 if you want to optimise the game performance, reduce the "simulation" distance to as low as possible! All it means is that it won't load the AI of mobs/entities past that distance.

@@isloel47513 I just want a Minecraft session of Kevin and Jack continuing their boat tour without three other Irishmen screaming at each other in the background 😂

To be fair, the first things i make are a bucket, then a stone cutter, then (maybe) an iron pick {i usually just use stone, or trade for diamond tools}
Also, this stream inspired me to pick up the game again. I made a base in the forest biome after spawning in the Polar. Couldn't find sheep so I didn't have a bed. Got hit by a creeper in the same doorway three times and died once. I have renamed that world "Cursed" and started a new one XD
@epicureanbard yo, that's funny! I, too, was inspired to hop in again. The seed "Scrumptious" spawned me on an island with no trees and a nearby (depending on your render distance) sunken ship as the only source of wood.. It's been a blast!
This stream is a whole whirlwind of emotions for me, LMAO 😭 I’ve consistently played Minecraft for YEARS now (actually over a decade at this point), and watching Dan sort of struggle over some of the newer content pained me (mainly because he HAS previously played Minecraft with the newer content he struggles over in this video.) But, during the times where he did know about newer content, it made me really happy! But honestly, the whole stream made me happy as well because I absolutely adore watching people play Minecraft. There’s something about it that’s just so relaxing and peaceful.
I also didn’t play Minecraft very much between 2013/14 and this year and I was exactly the same when I started playing again. Just a lot of “what’s this?” “what’s that?”
i was just thinking about playing some minecraft myself (part of my internal cycle where i decide to play minecraft for a week straight and then not touch it for a year) so this is perfect timing. very excited to watch this!
This was so wholesome at the start, especially with the house, and then he started holding the village in an iron fist and punishing any who dared to approach him. The trapdoor is pretty neat though

This is awesome! Can't wait to see where he takes it. (Not going to lie I hope RT gets hooked and wants to try some modpacks... E.g. minecolonies). Does he normally want tips in the comments?
I like how RT could solve the villager problem far more easily but instead just straight imprisons two guys despite the solution being fairly simple since Villagers can't do complex movements the player can.
Ah yes, the Drift King forges his new adventure, to be catalogued in his memoir Mein Kraft. He shall carve out a living space of his own and drive back all in his path.
Wait so he's now doing a lets play series thought he'd already finished the game Edit: oh.... Its been that long. Cant wait to see his reaction to every new thing
I think it's more of a proximity problem. Even with enough beds for every villager, there'd still be a chance of them sleeping in his bed and/or making another villager to fill it. edit to add: he could keep them out with a gate, since villagers can't open them.
My favorite part of this whole stream is that his first instinct isn't to make a fancy house or go straight for diamonds and enchantments, but to remodel the first village he finds because the farming irrigation just ticks him off that bad

I was kind of hoping he would see the pillager tower on the first day and be like, cool let’s check this out.
It’s kinda crazy how his video made me want to play Minecraft too :p
Completely relate to this play style (feel bad for the villagers and get distracted terraforming their village) also yes the grass is ugly haha
