16 episodes with the pilot chapter included, unpublished material, I have been looking for this gem for years, I hope you can upload it in full, big hug and thank you very much😇
This show went on the air my senior year (high school) and I thought it was fantastic. I was sad when it was gone by summer. Watching it again, now, I still think it's fantastic and has one of the best (and tightest) of scripts to introduce a new series and character - by Stephen J. Cannell usually came up with some very sharp pilot scripts for his shows. Thank you, by the way, for the vanguard work you are doing in sharing this and all the other splendid, unfairly overlooked shows of decades past.
Thanks for uploading. Seen a few episodes, i think i missed ep 13 A Song from the Sequel, so looking forward to that episode. Together with The Devlin Connection your channel is one to keep an eye on. Just to see if something special comes round. Especially for someone like me who likes these (as I call them) one-season-wonders of the 80's and 90's. For those who like this, watch Tenspeed and Brown Shoe 1980 first. Just because it is a nice series, and to know about the connections E.L. Turner is mentioning.
In the series, Jerome Jeremiah "J.J." Starbuck (Dale Robertson) was an ostentatious self-made Texas billionaire who earned his fortune in oil and a variety of other investment ventures. Unfortunately, J.J.'s work had become his life, at the expense of his family. Then, one day, his wife and son Mark decided to pay J.J. a surprise visit aboard an off-shore oil rig he was working when their plane crashed en route and both were killed. Only then did J.J. realize that the two most valuable assets in his life were lost and no amount of money could ever buy them back. From thay day on, J.J. Starbuck became an changed man. He turned day-to-day control of his company, Marklee Enterprises, over to his trusted second, Charlie Bullets (played by character actor David Huddleston in the pilot, and singer Jimmy Dean thereafter), and hit the open road in his 1961 Lincoln Convertible to see to it that others didn't make the same mistakes he did. He traveled the country helping out "good folks" in trouble by using his considering influence and contacts, and more than a little detective work.
