im a native of kolkata and i live just 30 minutes away from the campus and everytime i cross the gates of iim calcutta i remember the words of my dad that if you get in here life will be come alot more easier so it has been a dream for me to get into iimc currently im preping for ipmat and i wish i can get into iimi cus the ultimate plan is to have both i and c under my belt 😈

I am a General Engineering Male candidate. I have almost 40 months of work ex. The problem lies in my acads. Although I scored a 81% in 10th, my score in 12th is 62℅. Even btech was disastrous with 60℅. Is there even the slightest of chance to make a place in IIM C interview room? Harsh points are most welcome with respect.
I think yes , you have a little less marks in 12,but you have a good work ex period and if you ace in cat very nicely, there is a good chance to get call and then ball is in your court, you can convert iim calcutta
I guess, CAT percentile close to 99.9 would get the call but rest everything will depend on the PI and even if you get the call be prepared to get grilled. One more thing which helped me crack IIM C's PI was to have my USPs ready. Be sure to make the interviewers realise that if you get selected you'd be a valuable asset in the classroom who'd contribute well in the discussion. Your work ex seem to play that role. Rest one more important take away is - IIM C is kind of obsessed with Quantitative bent of mind. If you could somehow prove that in the PI, there's a high chance to convert it. But before all these, make sure to score above 99.9+ in cat.

Till now they have not released the criteria for 2024-26 admissions. So you cant say about whether they will consider UG or not. Criteria will be released after CAT only. So dont spread misinformation.

I would say complete 24 months of exp as if you apply currently your exp would count at par with a student of 12 months exp take it atleast to 25 you would get better marks that would cope up to some extent with your 10 th 12 th marks

If someone has not scored 80+ in 12th then you gotta increase your CAT score by 10 marks(not percentile) straight.

You should enjoy your life you can get 98%tile if you start preparing before 8-10months of your cat exam
