Instead of a slap up, could one recommend a back of the wrist crane strike? After the forearm to the chest.I do the silat snake form of Sanders/ Inosanto. You might find it's kinda neat.
Would be good to incorporate some bjj work with this. The hand fighting drills you are doing in this seem to be making really nice opportunities to collect a limb and get arm drags !
Excellent point! Yes, We do arm drags, double leg takedowns, single leg takedown, wrestling pummel, Throws, neck clinch, and so much more. So much important exercises to mix. Love it all!
