Oh, I forgot to mention that I love the music. The videos are so well done that I have been binge watching them. I dream of moving there, although I will not be able to because our sons live here, and I don't want to be so far from them. My husband and I will have to visit someday. In the meantime, I can experience it vicariously watching your videos. 😊❤
Thanks so much for taking notice! A lot of time and energy goes into these videos, so we appreciate the comment ❤️ We hope you do make it over at some point. It’ll be worth it!
I did a similar move from Florida to london 23 years ago with our small kids. We travelled somuch with them throughout Europe (and lots of personal growth involved-in such a move for me as their mother adjusting to it here) . You are amazing as a team and will prevail . 😊
Now you are in Scotland I can recommend Five Sisters zoo in Polbeth West Lothian. Much cheaper than Edinburgh zoo and much more animals. Plus they have penguins too 😊😊
We went back and forth on that for awhile, trying to decide whether or not to ship items or sell and buy new. In the end, it just came down to what we thought would be worth not having to re-buy. Kids’ sentimental items were a biggie as well. We hoped to ease the transition by having some familiarity. We’ll let you know if it makes it! Apparently, there’s been quite the holdup at the Panama Canal.
Enjoying your videos of your big move over. You guys should visit east links family park when your here in Scotland. Is a great day our with the kids :)
Would love to see how you made this all happen in its entirety. Including budget/costs, job transitions, etc. I'm from the UK (Scots mum/English dad) and have lived in both countries growing up until my early 20s. Hubby is American. We keep talking about moving there at some point in the near future as my parents get older. I have lots of family in Scotland and England so no problems over there and I miss them and the lifestyle dearly. It's handling the U.S. part and getting my husband over there that's complicating things. We don't have kids at least, just the dog and he's a westie so he'll fit right in! We're in Virginia, an hour or two south of DC.
We definitely hope to make a video of the process and are doing research as new visa requirements were passed after I applied for mine (Annie). It was a bit of work but not insurmountable! The most difficult is that the UK citizen has to “sponsor” the U.S. partner. So in your case, you would have to show proof of a job lined up in the UK that will pay more than the mandated annual salary of ~£29,000. Unfortunately, this number is likely to be bumped up in 2025. Your husband’s salary/job cannot be used to supplement that number with the initial application, which is another hurdle for many couples. Things could possibly change with the new change in government however! This video is definitely on our to-do list though! I truly hope you are able to make the transition if it’s what you want, and we wish you the best ❤️ I don’t think you’d regret it!
Lovely. Just wonderful. I know it was a hard thing to do, but you know already how great you feel about your decision.
It's been a wild ride, but so worth it! Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you! Luckily, most people are lovely, and we have pretty thick skin as well 😊❤️

Thanks! We’re still battling jet lag and some colds so a bit delayed this week. Aiming for Friday!
Yep, we’re doing the same thing right now! How did you decide on 4 pallets?

I'm so excited for you guys 🥰
Thanks, Hannah! It’s surreal. Arrived this week!
No free plastic shopping bags in UK Supermarkets
True! They make you pay for them in parts of the U.S. now too!
I think it would be better to eliminate plastic bags.

I can hear Zack’s faint Scottish accent when he says garage, I’m betting his accent comes back in full force once you move there! 😂
We hope so!! We’ve been here a month, and it is already creeping back 🙌
Bad choice of flag.
I hope you packed an umbrella and some heavy coats. Don't bother packing your sunglasses.
All set on the rain/winter gear! Ha, and surprisingly, we’ve been here a week now and HAVE needed sunglasses!! Who would have thought?
@@SimpleScottishLiving nothing sums up Scotland better than sunglasses and an umbrella, all seasons in an hour 😂😂
