    Did you know prescription inserts were an option for snow goggles? If so, what stopped you from making the switch?

    Got inserts a few seasons ago. NEVER GOING BACK! They have worked phenomenally well. No problems with fog even without no fog on insert.

    I don't even notice my glasses once my Accuri 2 OTG goggles are on and I love the 100% transition lens, but my biggest problem is that although the goggle lens is anti fog coated, my glasses will fog up, even when temps are very moderate. I run hot all the time.
    So, I just ordered a pair of prescription inserts with anti fog coating and I'm hoping this will solve my problem, but at $400 just for the Rx Insert, it's a bit of a gamble. I'll be back to report my results after I receive and test them out.
    The other obvious (to me) aspect of the goggle insert that is a "con" in my opinion is that now I also have to carry glasses with me during motorcycle rides so when I stop for a break and remove my goggles, I can read my phone or a restaurant menu. Such a pain to have to keep digging in a bag for your glasses when you stop. Also, you'll need to keep them in a protective case, so that is a bulky item to carry...

    I bought a prescription insert from SportRX a few years ago...I was moderately pleased but still a few frustrations with the whole set up..#1 skiing down a run and stopping for a break, they usually fog up..to my ski buddies frustration I demand we move so I dont fog up more..#2 was likely my error in that I submitted my most recent prescription to SportRX which was the prescription I use on a daily basis ..Issue being, they are progressive lenses...and unfortunately, the largest correction area in the inserts is that of the lowest portion of my prescription which provides the necessary correction for reading...unfortunately that correction throws me off skiing..If I were to reorder Sport RX inserts I would eliminate the lower correction prescription..Havent quite decided how to proceed .Still deliberating..Suggestions welcome.Michael

      HI Michael! This is great feedback, thank you! Since the time of your last insert order, we've drastically improved upon a few features, notably the Anti-Fog coating and seg height placement for our snow goggles as well as expanding our insert lineup to accommodate a wider range of goggle types. Regarding the Rx type, I usually recommend that if you're not heavily reliant upon the reading area associated with a progressive lens, opt for single vision DIGITAL. You'll notice a much wider viewing range with less distortion throughout. However, if you're dissatisfied with the product for any reason, know that you're covered with our See Better Guarantee. Hi! Wow, What a cool trip! Yes, we’ll need a copy of your most recent eyeglass prescription along with your pd measurement (if it’s not listed on the Rx). You can upload a photo when placing the order online or call us to speak with a live optician!

    How about for Motorcross goggles? Also, do the inserts sit further away than your glasses would? If so, that would change the prescription needed.

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Год назад

      Hello! We do produce Rx inserts for motocross goggles as well. The Vertex distance (distance from eye to backside of lens) is increased compared to everyday glasses, but this is factored in and calculated when manufacturing the lenses. No change to your prescription is necessary. Try 'em out!

    Is it different than the one you make/sell?

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Месяц назад

      Yes, it's much smaller with less vision range and will only work in select bolle models. We use a few different insert shapes that correspond to specific goggle models.

    Was boarding today and took a bad fall and broke my glasses. Should have had my goggles on, but didn't since they're old and glasses don't fit in them. Would like to get your insert, but I also need some new goggles. Any good rec's for someone with a narrow face? And obviously something I can use the inserts on.

    Could this be attached to then inside of a hockey visor or hockey cage? Would be great if you made a version like that. Rx goggles and glasses under the hockey helmet are not the most comfortable

      Hello! It may be possible if the mask, visor, or helmet has a bevel in which the insert can be firmly installed. In most cases we need to get the object in hand to assess whether it's compatible with one of our Rx inserts. Give us a call or email us at info@sportrx.com to learn more! 877.289.2999

    Hello, I'm a just starting to learn to ski and worried about the impact falling would have on wearing glasses with OTG goggles, would the normal prescription inserts be less likely to break on impact if I fell?

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Год назад +1

      HI Markus, Great question! Yes, the inserts are very unlikely to break/bend or harm you upon impact or during a fall since no part of the insert is actually touching your face. The bevel holding the insert in place does a decent job of protecting the insert from damage as well. Overall a much safer and effective option compared to OTG! 👉www.sportrx.com/prescription-ski-goggle-insert.html

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Год назад +1

      Hi! Yes, vertex distance (the distance between the eye and the backside of the lens) is considered and adjusted with every lens and insert relative to the Rx strength.

      Hey Jhon! The lens on SI Ballistic goggles is much shorter compared to many of the snow goggles that our inserts were designed to accommodate. That said, there's a decent chance we have an insert to fit with it. Give our opticians a call to get started!

    @sportrxsandiego do you recommend for hiking in winter and mountaineering?

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Год назад +1

      Winter hiking most definitely! You may want to opt for a glacier style frame for mountaineering though. That said, if you prefer to wear goggles for it, that's fine too! Here's a few options to consider for glacier style glasses...
