Man, you are a life saver! I had my Stradic since 2002 when i worked on a party boat out of Cape May NJ. I use it now to bass fish farm ponds in the piedmont of NC. The anti reverse recently quit. I followed your instructions and found it was dirty, I cleaned it like you described and now it works!!!!! Thank you!
You're welcome and thanks for watching and taking the time to share. Glad to hear it's back up and running again.... check it every few months or so to make sure your getting a lot of crud in there. Hit the thumbs up and spread the word about the channel.
Thanks! Just what the doctor ordered. Had a 2000 fg and a 4000 fg both slipping. Fixed em right up.
Thanks for finding the video. Glad to hear it helped you out. Hit that thumbs up and spread the word about the channel.
Thank you! Worked for my 4000FG and my Sustain 2000FH.
Excellent! Thanks for watching. Glad to hear it helped. More vids to come, spread the word about the channel.
You always have great tips !!!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the love. Stay tuned for more vids.
Tried to take apart...........all went well until putting it back together. Took the whole thing to the local reel medic.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Sorry to hear I didn't do a good enough job of demonstrating the steps needed so that you could do it yourself.
Thank you much for the help man it did work
You're welcome and thanks for watching! Glad to hear it helped. More vids to come.
Thanks for the help. Prior to this I grease the inner assembly lol. Whoops
You're welcome and thanks for watching..... I'll tell you a secret.... you shouldn't, but sometimes, I'll add a very small touch of oil to it to help kill the noise they make as they get older/more used. In South Florida, it's not terrible, but in the cold up North, it may be. More vids to come!
I like very much your video and tips. 👏👏👏.
So the one way clutch bearing must be out of lubricants?
Many thanks.
Thanks for watching and the compliment! Yes, they should be dry.... since I'm in a temperate climate, I can sometimes get away with a drop or two of oil to help minimize the raspiness of an older a/r clutch, but shhhh..... don't tell anyone I told you that. 🙂
@@TSGReelService I promise you it will be our secret 🤫🤫🤫. Many thanks for your time and consideration. Best regards.
🙂 you're welcome and no worries. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Can you make a video on deep cleaning antireverse because I put some oil in there hoping to do good...my bad!
Hi, watch the last third of the video for what to use on the metal cylinders. For the plastic housing, you'll clean it out with some dawn dish liquid. Depending on your climate, a little oil in there shouldn't hinder the performance, but there's always a risk, since they're meant to run dry.
hi. can you tell me when this reel is produced and released in the market?
Thanks for watching. No, sorry.
My cam broke any suggestions? Don’t wanna spend 30 bucks for a plastic replacement.
Thanks for watching. What's the part number?
@@TSGReelService BNT 6489 it’s broken where the head and shaft meet at the thinest part I’m trying to solder it but just too difficult to get to stick think I’m just gonna have to bite the bullet and cough up the money.
Shimano never made a BNT6489. Either way, based on what you're describing, getting a replacement seems like your only option. Double check your schematics for the part number before ordering.
@@TSGReelService sorry was an RD 6489 not BNT. I was able to superglue it till I can get a replacement 😂
No worries. That part number fits the smaller sizes, like the 2000. Good news on the glue! Hope it holds. If engaging and disengaging the a/r is not a big deal for you, you may be able to glue the metal plate on the bottom of the a/r clutch in the engaged position, so it's permanently on. Just a thought.
That anti reverse works kind of like a clutch?
Thanks for watching. It stops the reel handle from going backwards on hook set or otherwise. More vids to come.
More like a one way gear when engaged. Kind of like a cat starter.
Are you based in the US?
Thanks for watching! Yes.
