Thank you for taking the time to play through the start of Courier. I enjoyed watching and appreciate the feedback given throughout. Courier - Repacked is my most complex solo game thus far as I really aimed to create a "living world" feel for players to experience. The bit on narrative creation by the player is spot-on. I wanted to open the world up for players to create stories that felt unique to them. 1. Vaulter is the overpowered background option for people to get a feel for the game. Think the player character from any Fallout game. 2. Max HP is the total you rolled when creating a character. 12 is the "hard max" i.e. the highest possible amount you can reach by playing the game and finding upgrades or choosing new perks. 3. I'll do another pass on the character sheet and handling modifiers and notes. I've always had issues tracking bonuses from items and gear and things in Courier modify stats across all available, making it hard to track for the player. 4. The Faction setup rules are different for the initial map as I wanted to provide access to the other factions, like Vault Wardens, to all players and not have their appearance tied only to a World Event. Sorry for the confusion there!
Cheers Cody - and bravo - I know how challenging it is to logically organisation and concisely explain rules. I might prefer Glide, but I think Courier is definitely your 'best' game so far, in terms of how well it is put together! Thanks for your feedback - good to know I'm pretty close to providing an accurate demonstration of the game :D With regards to your character sheet, and character sheets in general, I think it is ok if there isn't a 'space for everything'. With games like this where there is a decent amount of stuff to keep track of, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect the player to supplement the sheet with their own notes and records. And its good to strike a balanace so that the game sheets aren't overly-complicated!
What fantastic rolls for a starting character! Can't wait to watch the playthrough next. I quite love Fallout and am very glad to see you play this as I am still looking for some solo rpgs that might be really nice for me to take around and about with me. I will have to look into a printing company like the one you use! I liked the idea of Glide but this one might be more my style gameplay-wise. I definitely enjoy dynamic factions! Never worry about waffling on, I don't think I am the only one who enjoys your musings as you give us information!
This looks really neat, a bit more book keeping than I typically enjoy, but damn I love post-apoc settings! I may have to give this a go. Love your printed book, looks fantastic!
@@lone_adventurer I see what you mean, about "supplementing" the faction sheets to make them "ready to go". That's something I would definitely knock up in Excel or Word for myself. It looks like the character sheet could also be improved upon ... but that's what I enjoy doing with most all solo RPG sheets, and I bet I'm not alone.
@@joelcole161 you're definitely not alone 🙂 that said, Cody is pretty responsive to suggestions from the community, so don't be surprised if some ideas we have on here pop up in the files for the game...
It always feels like cheating being that lucky in character creation, but boy howdy does it feel nice. Not sure if this would scratch my itch for a non-Fallout Fallout RPG, but I'm still a sucker for post-apocalypse settings all the same, so I might have to check this out.

Yesss!! I’ve had a lot of fun with this one, excited to dig into this video! Love the faction system.
Woo hoo! I don't think I've had gotten far enough in to have the factions system really shine yet. Looking forward to getting further into the game!
Oooh nice! I’ve been interested in this system. This is the perfect video to start my morning :)
... appreciate the play-throughs, they've been in my DriveThruRPG list for several months!🤘

Thanks for validating the waffle :D I try to strike a balance but ultimately try not to overthink things - hence the waffle ;)

Dice Gods: BEHOLD OUR BENEVOLENCE!
Lone Adventurer: ... 😯
🤣 surely they are only doing this so that they can strike me down later....
@@lone_adventurer Sadly, that was my thoughts as well. I'll see if this is the case when I get to the next video. Oh the suspense!
@@lone_adventurer The magnificent hills of 6 could not exist without the contrasting valleys of 1s, after all. The Equilibrium must uphold!

Love your printed book, looks fantastic!
The book keeping is a little high but worth it in this case, I think!
The sole-proprietor business simulator solo-RPG.
The title and setting of this game reminds me of that old Kevin Costner move The Postman which would make a good game.
Mmm....similar setting and concept! I haven't seen the film, but I remember enjoying the book. I've always wanted to see it!
"If you like the sound of playing Fallout, but in tabletop, paper form . . . "
Umm, YES !?! LOL #takemymoney!
My thoughts exactly 😁

@@lone_adventurer Very good to know - I love it when the developers are responsive.
I'm here and I'm taking notes. 📒
An Englishman naming his character Jack? That's never happened before...
I got the update. I had it printed but they did it wrong. 8x11 and only one side. So it isn’t “slight” for my version 😂
Haha, yeah I've been there! I've got a number of books printed in interesting sizes / formats!

Yeah...I guess that's what we've signed up for when we're playing these games that have random character generation!
Where did you get it printed?
A company here in the UK called doxzoo
Interesting, who did you use for the printing?
Doxzoo - I recommend them!
@@lone_adventurer Yup I use em too 👍
