I had two of those when I was a kid at school (I lost the first one). I always felt this watch was unfairly overlooked. Then many years later when studying for my accounting exams I bought one purely as I knew how it functioned and was reliable. But many years later I still have it! There are many things that will let you down in life but a Casio W-86 ain't one of them.
I wear this watch most days. It's elbow deep in buttermilk and hot sudsy water every week in my part time deli job and out in the Irish sea most weekends, even out at night when going for a stealthier look. I absolutely LOVE it and I'm so happy to see it get it's shine. I have just bought one to keep on ice as Argos is closing in Ireland. Cannot recommend it more.
I have one of these and it is my go to beater. Gardening, swimming, sea, beach....goes anywhere. Like you say lose it and there are no dramas, cheap to replace
Ordered it before the video finished. My son bought me a casio cheepy and I love it. But this is better. I can't wait. When he was a kid we watched over and again Planes trains and automobiles. And Del tried to pay for a hotel with "a CASIO" and the guy declined. If only he knew how much that is worth today!!!! Thanks again love the channel.

Great shout this. Still keeps classic f91w shape, without being too big or small. Strap a little bit long, but still works. Shell suit 90s teal is a delicious touch
I just bought a couple of these in the U.S. from Amazon and after wearing this for a few days I do not understand how this isn't one of a popular models nick named Tiffany's! Straight forward and simple, EL light, 50m WR, pliable band and a fun pop from that blue color...It's also discontinued now so get it while you can!

I bought the blue version of the F-108W along with a Casio W-800H over 10 years ago: both still going strong, no battery change. The F-108WH is my everyday/beater watch around the house: I prefer it over my 2 G-Shocks (GW-5000U-1JF & GW-M5610-1ER) for that
I have an 80s Casio ae-11w module 694. It's a digital analogue on top and a digital clock below. Used to wear it when I was a kid. They seem to be worth a bit. Don't know best place to try and sell it. It still works amazingly. Nostalgic 😂

Bought one of these when we got a puppy that always wanted to chew my watch I was wearing at the time and now the watch sits on top of my dashboard in my Defender ready for me to slip on if I have a job that's gonna get messy. Bit small on my wrist but a great watch!

I love this watch but I have to say, I like the f105 better. It’s basically the same watch with smaller dimensions and I love that for my 6 1/2 in wrist. Dare I say, it basically replaces the F-91W for me!
Noticed today, my W86 had the date knocked out by the leap year. I shouldn't complain as you only get so much for under thirty quid. I'm just so used to it being right all the time.
Bought this about 5 years ago before I knew about the f91. I've put this thing through absolute hell and abuse with no problems, same battery too. I never understood the rave about the f91 as this was so much better.. and for only a few quid more. Best bang for buck watch in the world imo.
Hey Russ, nice video but nothing for me tbh. Like a famous italian RUclipsr who lives in Philadelphia once said: "I'm Casio-ed out." 😂 Same goes for me as i already have 3 (three, can you imagine!) Casios. Here's an idea for a mod: take the W-86's module and put in the way cooler F-91W case. That'l give you the R-86-W-91-whatever, that only you have!
From my gf. I have to budget for. Things are tight. Just got a blue skmei jellyfish?. Its a great beater even. Just for colour. It electric whatever light luminous is really good. My d2300 is my watch I used for every day for 15 20 Years. Construction. Concrete coats the underneath. Solar. Two batteries. Best watch I own. Buttons are gone. I retired it from service. All nh 35 nowadays
That’s the reason why I purchased a A168-WEMB-1BVT. I have a feeling Casio is slowly getting rid of the EL backlight. I now have two EL backlight models. The other one is the og GW5000-1JF.
I've read or seen somewhere that the switch, though I'm sure the costs savings are welcomed by Casio, is that EL tends to fail at around the 20 year or so mark while the LED lamp will last indefinitely. Proof of this is could be that LEDs are making their way into more expensive Casios, even G Shocks. As to the watch, though I do like the concept, this style of Casio is just too small for me. Regardless, I watches as you always put on a great show.
That back-light is definitely it's best feature unlike my new MWD-110H that's only got the one LED light on the left of the display. It's great apart from that though👍

They are really difficult to buy outside the UK. Here in Spain they go for 3 times that second hand. I bought one from Argos for 16 quid while I was over at Christmas. Very nice.
I daily the w-800h around the house. Has better water resistance, bright enough light and I actually use the snooze alarm. So, i like the newer modules with better alarm functionality.
Recent subscriber, at first I found you incredibly irritating, now I love your style & your enthusiasm is so infectious! Use a BB58 as a daily, but I've been convinced to buy this watch & im excited to grab it from Argos tomorrow & muck about with the straps.. out of interest, do you change your straps/ any combos you can recommend? That's the predecessor of the Mission Impossible Casio 😉 I have the 100M and 200M versions which are different models but retain certain vibes of this one (including the teal accents), but not this one as it isn't available at the retail outlets I frequent here.
I have to agree... apart from the shell suite bit, I was never a fashion person, that explains why I have no mates then. I do however have the Illuminator, my second one, I'm not sure where my original one went that I got in the 90's, maybe the strap broke and I didn't find a replacement that would cost more than the watch. The display does not have the contrast of my F91W but at least you can read it at night. I may be wrong (probably) but this has been a lone electro luminescence on a budget for quite a while now so it might have already been stopped. Keep up the great work Russel.

Would love to see you do a review on the W737H at some point, the W737hx-5av variant has an extra long strap for the 7.5 wrist guys (Me).I got both Coyote and Black version, cuz why not… $21 @ Walmart in the states, hard to beat updated looking square with a dedicated light button. Teal was the signature color for the late 80s and early 80s. It was on everything, including residential homes and commercial buildings!

My A168 is no more, I'm replacing it with an A1000. I'm running with steel Casio & not resin. The Casio Lineage range is my go-to.
