Rio used to go to my school, Blackheath Blue coat. He was a first year when I was a fifth year. Les Ferdinand was my hero, but when Rio took the ball and scored for England I had tears in my eyes. Very humble guy. Saw him when i was working around his area and that made my year because he took time to talk. I will now rejoin the gym group, what an awesome guy!!

Love Rio's mindset never letting failure be an issue in his life. Hard work and dedication made him the man he's become and even though I'm a LFC fan all these stories from Rio, Gary and Patrice have been fascinating to hear. Much respect to these guys who have had their own private battles but came out on top.

I used to have about forty people working under my management and regarded, and treated, all of them as friends, but they knew who was in charge. I expected (not demanded) mutual respect throughout the office. The culture in our company pleased me a lot. My directors disliked this and said I should not be friends with the staff, but I knew my sincere views were right and I ignored them. It is gratifying to hear what Rio had to say and removed some of my (only slight) doubts. What a man.

Yesterday on my way to Florida I sat and watched 3 episodes of Diary of a CEO. My fave was the Rio Ferdinand chat. There was a real bond between you both. I particularly noticed your superb listening skills coupled with admiration and respect for each other. Listening to others experiences is key to success which many fail to do. As my father always used to tell me, you have 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason.

I've recently been watching these episodes and have been getting hooked on them. I enjoyed this and I've admire Rio ever since seeing that documentary on TV. Like you say when someone shows their vulnerability, great things can happen and you perhaps see someone in a different light to before. As you are a Man U fan I thought you went on a little bit too much on the Man U football chat...It got a bit fan like, that's my only gripe...but I am a Leeds Utd fan so....😕I heard Rio say you were doing something with theatre. Here's a tip. There is a singer called Ola Onabule from London who I know would be great for a new theatre production. He sang at The Bechams wedding back in the day. Great work ethic, amazing person. Keep doing what you're doing. Much admiration and appreciation to you.

This whole series of podcasts in my opinion is by far the best I've ever watched and listened to.
The personalities that you interact with on your shows are equally fascinating in their individualism.
A suggestion if I may..... A council estate fella from North Manchester who since I can remember has identified with himself.
No financial fortune here, no fame niether. I however consider myself the richest man, the luckiest man in the world.
How does a 'fella off the street' live so successfully without financial security?
How does this 'typical ragamuffin' get through life unaffected by social expectations?
Dad of five, married, no financial security but the richest man on earth . That's me.
Being honest with myself, knowing who I am and forever checking in with myself creates complete immunity to social norms.
Only a suggestion but I reckon a lot of your audience would be able to connect or resonate with someone like myself on your podcast.
Come on man, let somebody like me come on and be interviewed. Successfully living, being honest and truly knowing who you are doesn't mean you have to be a celebrity.
I just thought maybe the general public would watch and listen to someone from a council estate and still living on a council estate who lives his life on his own terms, without conforming to social standards and without ever comprising who he is considers himself to be so successful and liberated.
I've got all the excuses that everyone else has to be locked in chains and yet all the reasons why I'm so liberated and rich and free and happy.
    Upto you mate.

I have always said that if I don't know the answer I'm putting my hand up. I might look stupid but tomorrow I will be smarter than the person who never asked the question. I also am a big believer in what Rio was saying about always finding something to cling onto, add value or be relatable in a conversation.

Half way through this interview enjoying it but would have been nice to hear more about his personal life, his failures and achievements, his personal journey. I think it would have been more relatable. But appreciate the sporting success.
