Hi Geoff, my dad was a well educated man with a well paid job. Back in 1971 when I was 14 he said to me "my son get a good education and then get out of this country because I don't like the way it's going" My dad was very wise and clever. Sadly he died in 1974 at the age of 53. I did get a good education but didn't leave the UK because I found a good well paid job with a good pension scheme. However, that didn't last due to redundancy. This country has become a nasty place to live unless you are stinking rich. I feel so sorry for young people.

I was born in 1951 and I can attest that the changes to GB are monumental! As a country we have come a long way but not in the right direction.
Governments no longer look out for the people but instead prefer to put their snouts in the trough and give monies (taxes) to fantasy projects and foreigners both at home and abroad. I have lost my heating allowance but I note MPs are given an allowance for heating at around £3k. It seems that I will not only have to pay tax on my pension but will have to find national insurance monies as well. Three hits in one! I can’t think of one policy that Labour are planning to introduce that helps the people.
Every thing we do is either broken or heavily taxed, from motoring through dentists to GP appointments, train fares, bus services, water or power we pay over the odds to serve shareholders and taxes. Don’t get me started on housing costs or availability nor the legislation that allows Muslims to buy property without paying stamp duty, introduced by Blair in 2005!
If I could I would leave the UK right now and not look back - this would be my advice to young people - if they can leave, leave.
Yesterday, 7 August, I joined Reform as my personal fight against an oppressive Labour government that is dedicated to unlimited immigration and net zero neither of which are a positive benefit more a waste of money.
This will be a difficult 5 years to the next election but hopefully we will be able to reverse our countries decline.

Steve, I saw a report recently in a National Newspaper (sorry can't remember who the report was by, but it was from somewhere like the OBR (Office for Budget Responsibility). In the report they quoted the cost of the estimated savings to the Exchequer of the Pensioner Heating Allowance cut (latest estimates - 8/8/24 ish) by another source assesses that a lot of pensioners not currently claiming Pensioner Support (but would be entitled), will now decide to claim, so the first estimation on savings is likely to be an overestimate !). In the report there was also published the yearly cost of housing (just housing, not medcall services etc. etc) the influx of visitors to our shores. The costs were almost the same (memory not logging the actual figue, but 1.5 £billion won't be too far away from the reported figure) so it shows where the sympathies of the current Government lie ...... with potential Labour voters, not the elderly, who, mostly, have paid into the Exchequer in taxes all their lives !!! I dont live in the UK, and to be honest, i thought Geoff was losing it to keep saying they were spraying the sky. However, I started to see people posting photos of the sky, and it looked like a game board! The other day, I watched a video someone made about them spraying the sky, and it had a guy from the met office saying basically its to reflect the sun to prevent global warming. So once again, Geoff, you were correct.

The Aus Government control, soon to be digital ID and social credits and eveything going up in price EVERY month. We have never claimed on insurance. For three cars and house/ contents insurance has gone up 30% to over $12,000 PER YEAR! Average weekly food shop for four people $600+ !!! And majority of food grown in my State!

Not too familiar with NZ, but was decimated politically by the massively 'progrssive' Jacinda Ardern. She's been ousted, but not sure if things have improved. Property is very expensive vs salaries. Can be hard to get work, a lot of Kiwis come to Aus for work.
If you are considering a move this way, please don't underestimate how far it is away from Europe and everything else.... Especially with the brave new world we are entering with digi IDs and the rest...

I am fortunate to live under blue skies with great puffy clouds, and dry seasons and rainy seasons, but unless you have loads of money to buy a passport you are not getting in unless you married a local. Added to that apart from the threat of hurricanes, we already had Beryl, and there may be more to come, we live in fear that the administration may be hoodwinked by the WEF so that our lives are also made a misery, and when all these transport restrictions kick in where will we get our imports from... The whole World is crazy at the moment.
