I’ve heard of some drivers that count 1, 2, 3, 1, 2… and so on when they’re entering zones and transition timing. Singing, counting or whatever you need to keep focus can do wonders
I love that even when drifting the track you were still singing to yourself under the helmet. Absolute gold. Dont change at all bro. Stoked you had a breakthrough and finally got to qualify. Keep up the good work bro. 🤙🏻
You are no failure Sam, you are one of the FDJ drivers which many drivers inspire to be. You was one of them a not so long ago still sharing your old shop. Look at what you have achieved since, your own shop, a banger comp car, became a dad, Japan's worst singer.... Just keep on going!
You're not a failure Sammit, sometimes one's greatest criticizer is yourself. Having the balls to qualify AND compete in the FD competition is an achievement by itself, and your motivation to improve inspires many. Much love, be forward!
I follow FDJ (I'm a big Garedori-Kai fan) and I've known your presence for the longest time but haven't really watched your videos before but I came across your Daigo's V8 Altezza video and I went, "hmm Sammit, the famous RUclipsr, alright I'm gona check this out." Well damn, it was so informative and fun to watch I regretted that I hadn't watched your stuff earlier so I immediately subscribed. This was the second video I watched and I was thoroughly impressed with your humility and character integrity. Sam, no wonder you have such a big fan base. I'm now your fan too. Good news is that I got TONS of your good videos to watch!
Happy to see you actually realizing you threw yourself into the deep end. People will say bad things but you jumped into the absolute uncomfortable. Dont let other comments bring you down. You want to make steps and leaps not baby steps. You could do FDJ2 but it’s not going to actually help. You get better facing harder challenges
@@SAMMIT you don’t get better facing others lower or as equal as you. You get better facing those that are better. You got this Sam! You already know it takes time but you also know you have to challenge yourself to improve. Keep up the great work!
Well done mate! Ican tell you Sam nerves makes push past that barrier, as wave rider it's definitely pushed me over the ledge alot of the time in 20+ yrs in the water. Great work mate keep it up!🤙
Nice Sammy 👍 your doing it! New Zealand 🇳🇿! So much power in that motor, thank you for taking us with you on your journey a very educational experience plenty of footage for a future documentary
Gotta put yourself in more stressful situations so your able to push through it and overcome it. Instead of freaking out. Also helps to have an outlet to distract yourself so you don't overthink and overwhelm yourself. I used to try and get my self angry before a race.
Wooo hoo hoo! Go Sammit. Go Sammit!! You qualified. Amazing work. Loved the interviews with the Snap On. But REALLY love your attitude. The singing as you drove was the best.
Sam, great video my man! Congrats on qualifying. I really like the fact you're embracing your anxiety bro...own it. The interviews at the end are great addition to the video. I want to know all the peoples dailys..👍
Well... I don't know where to start with this comment. First and foremost I have to say HUGE CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR QUALIFYING RESULT SAMMIT. I'm so stoked for you and the team right now. So much has happened in the last year with the car whether it was damage on the track or a new fault discovered while doing repairs in the garage. and even though it was a constant stream of disheartening situations and the simplest of tiny soul destroying setbacks, we've watched you overcome the challenges of your life and drift racing career. Not only are you documenting the wins of your journey, you show the reality of progressing to the top level isn't achieved by what you do on the track. Reaching the top of your game is actually achieved not only from what you need to do which wins, it's done by thinking what not to do! You show the viewers that It's how you learn from the losses gets to see the wins. You're a proper go getter, you're entertaining, you're informative, you're educational, you have a good sense of humour and great personality. You're a good source of energy and inspiration for many people including myself. And considering the fact that I wasn't big into the drift circuit scene before I discovered your channel, although I love the modified drift cars in a big way. And now I have been learning more about drift racing from watching your channel, it's actually grown on me much more One thing that totally resonates with me, is the moments when you get a sudden realisation that you haven't switched on something or didn't switch off something which was causing a slight issue with the cars performance etc. people are constantly asking questions in quora about what it's like living with ADHD, what's the most common mishaps due to ADHD symptoms etc etc... Only when you experience the repeated events of flooding the kitchen and bathroom or roasting a chicken until it's a big chunk of charcoal, dipping the paintbrush in the wrong colour and ruining yet another painting.. All answers about ADHD situations can help with a better awareness, but it takes a personal experience to fully understand the mixed feelings of internal frustrated laughter. And it's also when having slight ADHD mishaps that have led to a Eureka moment of invention or the discovery of a new painting technique for further development .. So, I've not spent the whole day on drawing or painting. I slept mostly and woke up to a resting Day And what a day it's been catching up with my RUclips videos I've saved to the "Watch Later" and to end the day I saw a video suggestion appear on your BIG WIN in FORMULA DRIFT RACING. I just couldn't refuse to see this one Definitely not going in the WATCH LATERs LIST. WELL DONE over the moon for ya no more words other than DAMMIT SAMMIT DIDDIT
So freaking proud of you bro! Keep on doing great things papi. I see many more qualifying rounds for you this year brother! I believe in you always papa!
Oh hell yeah dude, you saw my request for the interviews. I love it Thank you and hopefully you'll continue with the daily car question even in other rounds in the future. Love you dude.
Congrats Sam! Don't let the enemy tell you you are a failure because you know you are not and this round is proof enough. Keep at it! and thank you for the Fausto coverage
congrats on qualifing , i definatly feel the nervs and stuff when i do rc drift comps . ive made it to the final round . now it time to see if i can qual for top 32 ... love the info on how you handle the press etc
9:10 every driver gets nervous... even adam lz gets nervous he usually crosses his arms on his laps and also sings or say dumb... extra dumb crap XD I think the only guys i know who doesnt get much nervous is james dean and piotr wiecek, they get focused instead of shaking/nervous, but pretty sure in the inside they still get a bit nervous...
he did improve a lot... hes no more fighting the car, he can handle it, at least on this track... he now actually learning how to compete in this level, untill now he was fighting with the car trying to get a hand of it... i think he will do very well next year... no big crashes yet so assume his chassis still good and he will mantain the same car... he will improve a lot... he has to, but also he has the capacity to...
You've definitely been working with Adam LZ with the mental aspect and dealing with your nerves. There's no way it isn't him because I watched his most recent video right after watching this video and he starts his races the exact same way you did in this video 💯 but I could be wrong but then again I could be right soooo.
Being nervous is good! Feelings are normal. 💯 Many times people make the best micro-decisions and have the most attention to detail when nervous. The other psychological aspect is when you do good don't let your guard down. Many people make this mistake in sports. They do good in a round or against a team, then put less effort in next time and get wasted. Sports psychology 101. You definitely don't suck and the last thing you are is a failure. That is blatantly obvious. These guys have been doing for decades and it's usually the only thing they do. You're competing against the equivalent of Olympic gold metalist drivers.
👏👏👏 big difference without the antilag blowing out your brains and being able to focus without that noise in the background …. Much better foot control and not having the opportunity to lean on the limiter and self forcing foot control. Keep working on individual sections, learn your strong and weak points and keep working towards staying off the limiter. More seat time thrashing with the boys is going to be a huge benefit. Good job homie, will be keeping an eye on you next round
Awesome job. I notice once you settle your nerves there is a lot of improvement because you can focus on the driving and what have you. From what I have seen this season of FDJ1 you have met all your goals and may even get a bit more out of this year.
Congratulations on qualifying!!! I love seeing the progress in your head game as much as your driving. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Find a kickass sports psychologist!!!
Dear sammit, please don't feel like a failure or a fraud. I feel like this sometimes, and it's due to me having a higher standard for myself. Look at what you have built so far, at one point in time I was jealous of you because of how good you were doing and I'm 40, but after the death of my youngest son 12/19/23;God told me a few days later with all kinds of feelings in me to stop trying and just DO. You got this you are strong
Im sure you dont need me say this, but sam your far from a failer. Not something even worth time thinking about. Doing what you do not only inspires, helps others find themselves, il even admit to being inspired on more than 1 occation, so yeah just do what you do man, thats not a thought thats worth your time. And thank you
That was good we proud but we know you can give us more and another thing chill with those big tires C's Adam was like that but look how comfortable he is with the e36
Could be Adam Lz Your Nerv Coach. Because Lz before this really easy get nervous and screw ups. And lz start to singing and make a weird noise in car before❤ love to see your progress sammit. Keep growing sammit and crew. Love from malaysian ❤🇲🇾

Waiting for Sammit’s Greatest Hits album to drop on the merch page🔥 😅
Interviewer Sam didn't ask about favourite type of girl. Qualifying has changed you man!
Congratulations! Good Job!
singing/thinking about something activates another part of your brain so you can't over think.
its actually a very smart tactic
