Thanks for the video! Since Haltech had the exact adapter for your car, does this mean their ECU is also plug and play?.. Like can you hook it up and drive it right away out of the box, or do you first have to tap into the ECU and tune it before driving?
Good stuff! A quick note for mounting the unit - if you plan on keeping the USB cable in permanently (I did), you'll have to get creative so you can actually put the foot board back down. Facing out, the cable hits the board. I ended up installing mine face down and it fits in pretty nicely. You can see what mine looked like in my install overview video (picture at the very end). I still have some bugs to work out - have a vacuum leak or some fuel issue I need to sort out before I go to tune. Shooting for 500-ish whp on the OEM engine. We'll see! Again - great stuff! Keep it up!
Haltech is definitely worth it for all of the safeties alone! Not to mention all of the tuning parameters that totally change the feel of the car! Thanks for watching :)
600whp should be very obtainable, considering a complete engine build and new turbo kit and high performance and tunable ecu. I've seen stock engine 300zx's with bigger turbos and injectors on stock chipped ecus doing 700 at the crank.
I got a question. Maybe you can help me. I'm LS swapping my Z. But you said the factory Z32 ECU controls both the engine and "body harness?" The body harness controls things like the turn signal, RPM, temp, oil pressure, etc. correct?
I'd love to see what you did next to install the Haltech after it's plugged in. Are you planning another video?
I always wonder that too, do you just fire it up and there are preloaded defaults?
