    I also have a 94 Z28 with a 6 speed. I did this about 4 years ago and i used the clutch safety switch at the clutch pedal with a latching relay and an activation switch on the dash. With the switch off, the line lock works normal. With the switch on it completes the ground circuit (IIRC) when you push the clutch in. With the clutch pressed, all i have to do is hit the line lock button once and the relay latches the line lock and the 2 step until i release the clutch. Then it's off to the races!!!

      Sounds like a great setup!

      All good. You're essentially doing the same thing!!! It's the activation of the "launch' that you are hunting now. Maybe able to tie it into the brake light switch on the pedal??? Might work? I remember something about my activation being ground. Again, I could be wrong. God luck on it! Love F-FODY! U on forums?

      @@speedmongrelZ I’m not really on some forums. I am on Instagram bad_maro_304 is my page name. I was going to tie it into my brake light switch but before long I’m changing to a totally different setup so I didn’t want to worry too much. It’s getting a Holley terminator x max and 24x conversion, also working on a turbo kit rn, a video should be up on the progress shortly.

    Good video! I put a crane hi-6r box on mine a few years ago. Think I bought a jumper harness for that too but hard to remember 100% now lol. Mine has a timing retard box that mounts inside the car with an adjustable knob on it. Think it can pull up to 20deg. Like it because I can make quick changes if the tune is a little hot for the surface on a dry hop

      Yeah I wanna get something to allow me to retard timing as well so that I can run my nitrous and pull timing with just a dial

      @@zachwilson9608 with the hi-6r box it is a plug in box with a dial knob you put on the dash. Really simple setup. I'll try to go over it in a video on my channel soon.

      @YerkitRacingChannel I'm interested in this timing retard box. Other than 2 step what's the point of the msd box install?

    • @YerkitRacingChannel
      @YerkitRacingChannel Год назад +2

      @@StoneMountainAdventures a msd box is more consistent with less chances of weak spark than older factory ignitions. See the most benefit at higher RPMs where factory stuff can start to break up... probably not as critical on an NA setup but strong consistent spark is a must with power adder combos

    Question if i replace my HEI distributor with an msd pro billet distributor an 6al-2 box do i have to take that module thing out of the msd distributor as well

    Were you able to tell a difference in performance?

    • @badmaro304
      @badmaro304  10 месяцев назад +2

      I could definitely notice that the car just ran overall smoother, I’d say the throttle response was a little better as well but I wouldn’t say you’ll necessarily gain a noticeable power gain.

    What's the part number on that rev limiter button? Did it come with the msd 6al

    • @badmaro304

      Are you talking about the momentary switch button that is inside the car? That’s just a momentary switch off Amazon, any momentary switch would work.

      Now that blue wire from the msd box just needs a 12 volt signal to engage the 2 step?

    • @badmaro304
      @badmaro304  Год назад +1

      @@liljohnbarton yes that’s all it needs. My switch gives it a 12v signal when I push it in. So as long as I’m on the botton 2 step is engaged

    What doea this do for a stock lt1?

    • @badmaro304
      @badmaro304  Год назад +2

      This one allows me to have 2 step for more consistent launches when racing, it also works as a rev limiter that you can set at whichever rpm you desire so if your car doesn’t shift it won’t continue to spark when it hits that rev limiter. I noticed a little more smoothness driving with it as well.

    • @NJRangerGeorge
      @NJRangerGeorge Год назад +1

      @@badmaro304 so this is more for racing and stick shifting. I have a 97 z28 5.7 stock motor automatic. So this wont do much for my car right?

    • @badmaro304
      @badmaro304  Год назад +2

      @@NJRangerGeorge mines an automatic, so it 100% will help with automatics too, that’s why I use it to launch. I can still use the foot brake to launch but I can hold the pedal all the way to the floor and it’ll only rev to around 2,000 rpm for my launch
