@@dadbod4life we let people come in to work on their bikes free of charge and I’m pretty sure it’s only happened when someone is careless and trip over the feet or bump the bike.
my buddy has a very old park tool stand and we always use a micro fiber towel in the clamp when we put a bike in it just to ensure that we do not damage the dropper seat post or the paint on the frame.
I have this stand and I think it's pretty cool. It really makes life a little easier. I keep a shop rag in the clamp to prevent scratches and it seems adequate. Thanks for sharing!
You’ll like the park tool bike stand. The feet of it does not get in your way and if you watch other videos they out a rag or towel in the clamp. The park tool beats the budget ones I used to have one. And if they gave tools the price would be higher. So to keep them afloat they don’t give them and there is different versions. Of the stand. And doing videos take the bike off then adjust plan out the video better for the bike to raise up or move. I’m no way being ignorant on this. I’m no way being mad or anything. I’m just stating somethings. Dig the videos.
Another great video. I bought a Park stand used a few years ago. I think mine is the 9.1. Looks very similar but the legs fold away for storage differently. I have no complaints with mine, but I have no experience with other models either. Park does sell a tool tray for that stand. I've been thinking of getting one but not very high on my priority list. They are handy for cleaning your bike also. I'm very happy w mine, but not sure if I would have paid full price.
I really like my park tools stand, I've never had an issue with it scratching any of my bikes. 😬don't drop your bike into the clamp and the clamp will last a long time😬 with heavier bikes I clamp them from from the frame and not the seatpost, it's not going to dent your bike nomatter how tight you get it. Keep shredding that shxt 🤘 😎
Yes sir, glad you have some experience as well. Now let's see how much crap I get when I clamp a frame!! LOL Also mailed the Gummy stickers out today!!! See you Sunday BERSERKER!!
Or, a piece of 6 to 8 ounce softish leather, roughly 1 inch wider than the jaws and long enough to give a full wrap around the down-tube, for example. I’m thinking 4 x 8-10 inches. I’ll see about trying to get such a piece cut and try to send it your way later in the year.
Get a roll of foam tape. It has adhesive backing on one side, and soft rubbery foam on the other side. U can get different widths and thicknesses for a few bucks, if dont work just peel it off, maybe that would work.
Gotcha, I think because it's steel steel could use less material than our aluminum style stands. Thanks for watching Lebron, I know you watch all but we appreciate it brother.
Anyone looking check out the Bike Hand. The only draw back is it doesn't extend very high. Other than that I'd say it's better for a lot less. The tray is great and it's quite compact while folded so it just lives in the corner of the room... Very nice 🎁 for the channel none the less so good on ya for that!
Take care with the bottom clamp for the legs the plastic threads strip out very easy and need to then put a jubblee clip round the blue post to stop the black mount sliding up!
I just ordered the Park 9.3. What finally convinced me to get a repair stand was the ordeal of servicing my air fork without one. It's possible, but neither easy nor convenient.
2:40 they won't scratch the bike, nor seat post, but if you have frame protection it might mess it up, make it loosen or warp, but they will wear out eventually, a year or two, more or less, it depend show much you use it, so get spares. I bought some from Worldwide Cyclery, just make sure to get the correct type, as there are different sizes. If it will damage paint or something, the paint is too weak. They are safe to use on a dropper post stanchion, just make sure the stanchion is clean.
First off I have two park tool bike stands and they are Awesome , mine are a little different than yours, I have tool tray's on both of mine and are quite nice. Park tool make accessories for my stands and more than likely for yours too. I think if you use it for a few months then do another review on it .
05:00 it's better to adjust it and leave it and get bike on. I have a shop stand so it has a strong metal pin I slid eibtona hole. So it can't fall no matter what. But this will probably be fine too. But yours has fine. If you have a decent tripod you can adjust the height, angle and move the tripod easily. I reccomend Peak Design travel Tripod it's about 1 kg, and most compact on the market, I have it iwth me in my backpack. If I have enough time I can use the tripod to shoot photos at slower shutter speeds. But if you need more angles and rotate the camera or phone while you shoot I reccomend getting a ball head. The tripod has a camera mount and phone mount included. Smart design.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS my Peak Designs Travel Tripod, yes, already mounted, but I took it off, as I don't have a camera yet, but it screws on to a camera, andit slides in place, once you opened the locking mechanism, by turning the ring. @@EBikeBuilder_ I didn't know! Relax. I don't even know why Park still makes that one. I'm sure the 10.3 costs Park only a few dollars more to make but they charge way more.
There's no replacement for a good stand. If you don't have the budget or the space for a legit stand Ibera makes a cheap stand that just keeps the back wheel off the ground, folds easily under a bed or in a closet and costs about $25. For working on e-bikes upside down, where you have to protect fragile displays, I use "Handlebar Jack". Thanks for the demo. Would have liked to see your heaviest e-bike though. I may just have to budget for this stand, I've worked without one for too long.
Looks like a huge upgrade over the old ratchet clamp 🤣😂. Looks very stout but those clamping jaws are a drawback, for the money you shouldn't be expected to use a rag to protect your bike, time will tell if that's a deal breaker. Props to Kevin H for hooking you guys up!! Maybe Park tools will sponsor your channel?? 🦥

Must admit, I'm an upside down mechanic, I should really invest in a stand. I'm not denying Park tool stuff isn't great, I just sometimes think you're paying a premium for name. It's a very sturdy looking stand, but I'm disappointed with the clamp. Great little review gents, very thorough and scientific 👍😎🍺

Thank you very much, appreciate the view and comment man.
You might want to anchor it to a work bench. The shop I volunteer at has those stands and heavy bikes have tipped them over.
When that happens its because of the way the bike was positioned. But if it feels tippy, I agree with you. Most of the time its not needed.
