@@CoasterConnections yeah me and me mate went on it. Head was spinning and it was a quiet day considering in july!!! 30 years ago...wow i feel old. Would love to go and ride it again.
First visited in approx 1982. There used to be a single person bobsliegh course run down a hill. Handle between your legs that controlled the brake. Think it was situated where Oblivion is. Also down in that corner...where Enterprise has been, there was a dome with a 360 cinema show. Some people may even remember that on the big grassy lawn...there used to be a animal pit that had Sealions inside.
We used to go to Alton Towers on a school trip every year from Near Manchester from 1979 to 1984 . I remember a lad on the viking ship standing up and nearly falling out . Thanks for the memories.
This is a really good video. I’m surprised you don’t have many subscribers! I’ve hit subscribe to provide support to the work and effort that clearly went in to this video.
What a great ride, Schwarzkopf coasters really pack a punch! Magic Carpet and 1001 Nights are both on the “More Lost Rides” video 😁 ruclips.net/video/CwWr6Bp8oTU/видео.htmlsi=ByvbyktKmCIkd28d
When you see the first part of the video with the monorail and the thunder looper what is the roller coaster you can see in the background on the right handside
It’s The New Beast after its relocation from Coaster Corner. The footage is actually from 1992, but I wanted to show the area before Nemesis construction started.

Wow, good memory of the Alpine Bobsleigh! Maybe you will see it in a future video 😉
1994 was the best year for Alton Towers. And a year where the park is at its peak with Nemesis and Toyland Tours.
I will second that! It’s the year that sparked my interest in theme parks and roller coasters. Alton Towers had a special magic back then.
This bought bk so many memories thankyou ! And brilliant research knowing where all these coasters are now ! ❤
Thank you Lisa! I really enjoyed researching it all and I’m already planning a “More Lost Rides” video.
I enjoyed this. Well researched, thank you
I’m glad you enjoyed watching this video as much as I enjoyed researching it.
Brilliant video. Top, top work! I remember riding the Thunder Looper and was so amazed to see it was lap bar only!
Glad you enjoyed the video. There are still a few loopers out there with lap bars. Ride them while you can!

And thank you for watching. The Pirate Ship is still at the park, just returned to The Blade. It’s the oldest operating ride at Alton Towers!
I operated ripsaw in 97. And a few shifts on the log flume. Memories.
I bet you have lots of stories to tell!

@@CoasterConnections you’re doing really well with views 😃. Honestly I really enjoyed this video. Very well put together and thought out. Well done!
Me too. New subscriber.
Love that you’ve researched where all coasters ended up going, just been to Alton towers today 🥳
I hope some day to be able to ride some of the ones I missed when they were at Alton Towers.
It’s my favourite park in hole wide world AltonTowers 17:21
It’s great park!

I wonder what the new ride coming in that area will be.

Don't sleep on submission, it was actually quite a fun ride.
It could be me. I managed to ride an operating Chance Inverter recently and still find it underwhelming.
