  • Cuttings are a great way to propagate plants but also enable us to protect our stock of the more tender perennials through the harshest winters.
    Today, I am propagating Lavender, Rosemary, Penstemons, Veronicastrum, Clematis, Pittosporum and Brachyglotis. I show you how to collect your cuttings and how to prepare them for rooting and then how to care for your cuttings for the first 4 - 6 weeks.
    It’s difficult to know how to express myself on social media when there is so much sorrow and devastation in the world we live in, particularly in Ukraine. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine.

    Why do you only place the cuttings around the edge of a pot?

    • @cottoverdi
      @cottoverdi  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Francine, we only place the cuttings around the edge so that they are not surrounded by as much damp compost, this is supposed to help prevent them from rotting. 😊

      Thanks, yes, that's a great idea. Do follow along the journey - I tend to put a video up later with the results when they've rooted in.
