Hi, can you suggest a safe, budget-friendly place for two females to stay close to activities in Zona Colonial, please? We want to be within walking distance of most things.
When you say 'historical looking", "reminiscent", you make it seem like they're not actually XVI century buildings, Santo Domingo is the first European settlement in the Americas, the first Cathedral, the first hospital, the first university, were established there. Santo Domingo was established in 1496, and the Colonial zone is rich in history.
muchas gracias! ... we are a couple.... arriving soon.... we would like to stay in a place (backpackers style) where we can meet a lot of travelers, share our experiences and go out all together to party ...Does island life hostel match with this???
Yes! Very easy to meet people here, and walking distance to parties. + Good location, inside zona colonial + love the info sheets they give out + Very spacious, 2 levels, with many areas to chill, both outside and inside + Reliable wifi. + Secure - front door is locked, they also have locks on doors to rooms and lockers. + They have dogs for good company. + Better breakfast and coffee compared to other hostels - but the same everyday. - There is a lot of people that smoke at this hostel. If you are irritated by smoke fumes, it may be an annoyance here.
