Such a good idea that you do swatch chart of all the pencils you own 🤩! That way when you create a piece, you can look at the swatches and find the exact shade you need. 120 colors of Polychromose pencils are sooooo niiiiice 😍!! I can see why these are your favorite 👍🏻! The Carandache box is so pretty with that bright red. Love how well stored these are with the meal tins and sheets inbetween each layer 👏🏻!! The square swatch chart looks so satisfying 🤩! The pastel sets are so so pretty 💗!! This is what I call an impressive color pencil collection 🙌🏻👏🏻!
Yes my current swatch charts aren’t exactly all acceptable🤣 I love the red caran dache packaging as well. Caran d’ache always packages very well and it really adds to the quality! Thank you for watching❤️
Well, since it’s a new year, I decided to pull out all of my colored pencils for you guys! My collection has grown quite a bit in the past few years and I fear it will only keep growing😂 also, is the quality low? It should be 1080p but it’s only at 480 for me. I’m not sure why
This is true, I hear there are so many great amazon brands. If i ever was to collect some, i would probably do a review and then giveaways since I already have so many pencils
That Bob plush is so cute! 😂 I need to use my Prismacolors again. I like the cases you have; I also have some zippy cases but I ended up transferring my pencils back into their tins for filming purposes. Not keeping the original tins...shock and horror! 😱 Ooh I love those jumbo chunky pencils. If you do get more pencils, definitely get the Lightfasts; they're worth it! A great overall collection of coloured pencils; I look forward to seeing you use them and of course, possibly collecting more. 😁😂 (I'm telling myself I can't justify the Caran d'Ache Pablos, lol)
Yes, another Bob to add to my collection😂 I have a bob ornament as well🤣 before I started my channel, I thought keeping tins was a waste of space, boy was I wrong! I actually never owned the polychromos tin because I bought them open stock over the years, but my poor, poor albrecht durer tin😭 it probably got lost/tossed in the move a couple years ago. I really want to get to lightfasts, but I’ll need to wait on big spending at least until I buy a new car first as mine is getting really old. Sigh. *considers just riding a donkey to work* Also, you should get the Pablos👀
I have a Derwent Superpoint, but stopped using because it would waste the pencil. luminance is also thick (like derwent) so doesn't fit in all sharpeners.I often use my little red generals handheld. probably need a better one
@@AlexisCassandraArt I was asking myself that question, because I think the cutter Stanley knife, the sandpaper (even the potato peeler) are excellent for pastel pencils. but for pencils with a wooden barrel as precious as the luminances it would be a shame to ruin them with a cutter Stanley knife (especially for the cost of each pencil). My suggest about kum (masterpiece) It was cause i saw a video where someone used well that Sharpener for caran d'ache luminance
Hi Alexis, I really enjoyed watching all your colored pencils supplies. Although I am not really an artist, but an avid colorist, and sometimes I’m going through this “Collection Syndrome Phase“ because I love the colors, that’s it. LOL. I had my eye on the Derwent Lightfast and Caran D’ashe Luminance, both of which I can definitely not afford. Buying a set of 24, I know that’s not going to do it for me. So, at this point I definitely want to get the 24 Derwent Drawing pencils, those earthy colors look amazing. And I was thinking of the Coloursoft, but I heard you saying you think they might be too soft, and you’re not the only one saying this. But really, softer than Prismas ? (which I have). I guess the quality must be better than Prismas. I wanted to ask you, I believe you had 3 Derwent Lighfast, how do they compare as smoothness and softness with the Coloursoft? Sometimes I think why everyone wants the Lighfast pencils ,because they are lighfast, and that’s not important to me. I haven’t heard much how they perform? Honestly the reason I crave the Derwent Lighfast and the Luminance because of their naked wood barrels, I love those. And I know the Luminance performs really well, but they are even more expensive than the Derwent. Actually right now I can get the 36 set Lightfast for $86 which is the lowest I’ve seen, but still for that exact price I can get the 72 Coloursoft. Even if I want to build up with open stock, 1 pencil is $4.59 which is crazy. So, my question to you, putting the lighfastness aside is there a big difference in performance and feel between the Coloursoft, Lightfast and the Drawing. I do like soft pencils but not to be so soft so you can’t do any detail coloring. 😊
Hello, thanks for watching!:) I have a collection obsession as well(clearly😂). To answer your question- well, it’s complicated. I definitely recommend derwent drawing pencils, but just keep in mind they are not well-suited for fine detail as they have an extremely thick core! The collection of colors is great to have though. Coloursofts are softer than derwent lightfast pencils. The build quality in coloursofts, including the core, is much sturdier than prismacolors. They glide over the paper, laying down pigment without much effort, but they don’t feel as waxy as prismacolors. I don’t think detail is a strong point for the coloursofts. Lightfast pencils are a happy medium, not too hard or soft, so they could be well-suited for both coloring larger areas and creating fine details. I think that’s why people love them so much, also they seem to complement the luminance set very nicely. Do you already have the polychromos? If you do, those are the best artist grade pencils for details on the market IMO and more affordable than lightfast or luminance. I recommend trying each pencil open stock before committing to a set. It sometimes comes down to personal preference to how the pencil feels in your hand when you first swatch it😀
@@AlexisCassandraArt Hi Alexis, I agree with everything you said. I definitely want to try the drawing pencils and the chromaflow, they are both small sets and both on the softer side, the chromaflow might be a little harder but it also has beautiful colors. I don’t think you mentioned the chromaflow? So yes I have the Polychromos and a couple of other more budget oil pencils good for details. I think I’m attracted more to the Luminance than the Lightfast, I mean major thing is I like the wood finish, but I know Luminance is softer. It’s crazy because definitely I don’t need all these pencils, nobody does, but it’s just awesome as a collection.Of course I can’t go for the larger sets, that’s just very expensive. I do have the entire 150 of Prismas and 120 of Polys and take such good care of them. Actually I don’t use them a lot becuse I don’t want to shorten them lol. I have 2 sets that are considered budget, but don’t behave like that. They are all oil based. Markart is one, 120 they are so smooth, but also keep a sharp tip. Then Brutfuner if you heard, they are square, beautiful pencils, very nice to work with them. There is one set I regret buying, the Schpirerr Farben, if you saw them they are very nice looking, but too hard for me,and too bad because they have unique colors. I am not big in putting down layers upon layers and these require that. It’s a 96 set, I really didn’t use them at all really, was thinking to give them away or for a low price, they are $45 brand new. So, sorry I was boring you with this. The Derwent Lightfast and the Luminance is $4.50 per pencil open stuck, thats horribly expensive. Maybe I catch a sale or something. Take care and see you i guess in videos. 😊
I have the Derwent Lightfast, don’t like them at all. I have all the Polychromos in the range and they’re my go to pencils, they’re beautiful, I have a yearning for the Luminance tho’ 😄
I swatch everything…Have you seen the Ruby Charm 2021 swatch book?…there are lots of swatch charts for different medium and blank ones for you to do other stuff you want to swatch…🥰
Me doing all my swatches new D: Im doing swatch cards, single swatches on a 4.5 by 4.5 piece of paper, as I found It easier to comper them :D. Its a pain in the b.. to do it but it will be worth it
Make good looking swatch charts and reviews of them, not to long and not to short videos, colour something decent maybe, and you will reach a point where all kinds of vendors will send products for you to do reviews. All the other channels have this be it photography or artists , many can't keep up with the demand because if would be to many videos, some times they pay, sometimes they just give you the product for review and I assume to keep it, you gotta ask if u get to keep it, but they are stalking everyone . Definitely do reviews and swatches if you are interested in this.
Man I thought I had a lot of colored pencils back in the day, Granted I'm no artist but this is pretty cool You can create a whole museum with your collection! Also shout-out to Bob Ross for making an appearance I haven't seen him in anything in years 😂 Edit: Your def not lazy, don't get it twisted 😌
What is it about the Holbein pencils? No one knows their lightfastness, yet people are paying premium prices for them. No, not me. There are other nicer pencils also from Japan at good prices.
Not sure! i told myself if i (or a friend) ever goes to japan I will get them and fly them back, but otherwise, probably won't buy them online and ship
When you opened the Pablos tin it was like looking at a piece of art in itself. Very nice collection of pencils.
They are presented beautifully! And thank you. I can’t believe it took 30 minutes for me to go through them all, but I shouldn’t be surprised LOL
@@AlexisCassandraArt your pencils deserved thirty minutes!

I love love love the Pablo’s colours.
Marvelous collection! Really appreciate all the color swatches!
Thank you! I’m excited to redo some of the swatches on camera
Yes the pitts are color indexed to the poly"s they are my favorite pastel pencils to use and work well with the square sticks as well.
I don't have the sticks! I feel like I would make a mess but it would be fun to try
@@AlexisCassandraArt The sticks are hard and can be used for blocking in and also details if you get a fine edge on them. Cheaper then pans.
Great collection! I love prismacolor but I'm a smoosher lol. I do love the polys, Albrecht Durer and a few others you showed.
The prismacolors are really vibrant! The polychromos are my favorite. Thank you for watching!

That Holbein looks so gorgeous...i will save up for that
They are very pretty but yeah so expensive!
Where did you get those first 2 pencil cases? I like them
They were a birthday present a few years back! I think they were from Amazon
Caran d ache seem amazing but I never see them go on sale.
Right! Same with derwent lightfast
which is the best pencil sharpener for caran d'ache luminance ?
a crank pencil sharpener / kum (masterpiece) pencil sharpener?
I have a Derwent Superpoint, but stopped using because it would waste the pencil. luminance is also thick (like derwent) so doesn't fit in all sharpeners.I often use my little red generals handheld. probably need a better one

I have had my eye on the lightfast set and the add on luminance set. I did get some "art" money for Christmas so you never know...
Art money, hehehe. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to me🤷🏻♀️😂

Great collection of pencils. Hello from South Africa.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed :)
thanks.. been waiting for this..!!
Yaaay I’m glad you liked it! It was fun to film too
Prismacolor is portrait artist's favorite colored pencils except me. I am more comfortable with Polychromos.
I agree with this! I used to love the prismas but I identify more with polys now
Bruh how do u even keep track of all this 😂
I wouldn't even know what to use.
Nice collection!
I don’t🤣 haha thanks for watching
Caran d'ache luminance now comes in a box of 100
