Nigerian pidgin English is ever evolving...some new words are added every year, while the old words stay.... it's truly dynamic and special...
You guys are killin the pidgin English, I love it, laughed my ass out😂😂
I had a nigerian girlfriend so I can say that "weting" is a combination of: "what + thing" which translate as: what is it. Hope that make more sense for you now. Great video again from you two. Thank you and carry on.
Wetin not wating
Wetin nor bi wating
@Onome Mymothermypride was just abt getting ready to answer the guy, until I realise WE both have the same FIRST name, small world one would say 😅😅.
Anyways, your answer was spot on👌 .
Oga no be the same thing
You guyz are just making me smiling all day as a Nigerian🇳🇬, one❤
Have a great day and pass on the love to someone you come across today😊
I love you from South Africa 🇿🇦 ♥️ I'm also teaching myself pidgin english
Your pidgin English is spot on...the pronunciation, everything.
Sierra says hers with a little too much attitude. If you speak pidgin to anyone like that, they'd definitely know you're not joking/its serious business. Dionne's attitude with it is spot on.
She was born with that attitude 😂
You guys are amazing 😂😂😂. Una de do well to show Nigeria to the world. God bless una ❤❤
You guys are my latest obsession! I stumbled on your channel a few days ago and can’t seem to have enough. Thank you guys for reaching out to your African roots. It’s so beautiful to watch you guys, stay blessed!
❤️❤️ Well, at least it is a healthy obsession😂. Welcome to the family!
It also includes a lot of indigenous languages especially Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba as well as the coastal tribes. It’s really a potpourri but is flexible enough to keep growing and expanding. Fantastic language to expresses your actual feelings at every point
pidgin doesn't really have rules, it's free flowing. If "been been" wasn't a thing before, if you say it enough times with context it becomes it's own expression. So yeah it works!
Nigerian pidgin english has become evolved over time, combining with latest slangs and would keep increasing over time
Pigeon English is a free flowing language and everyone bring their own expression and context to enrich it.
Pidgin... Not pigeon
You for write duck no be only pigeon 😏😏😏
Bros, you wicked o. 😁
@@kingdarey8000 grammar no be my language...Shina Peters 🤣🤣🤣
Even the person teaching the pidgin is not speaking it with the correct accent.
I'm Nigerian --Yoruba tribe precisely! I must say you guys are so hilarious! lol
Sierra got the attitude on a promax level lol
Aswear😂
pidgeon English without attitude is not complete... shes spot on 😀😀
Who else knows that pidgin also has some Portuguese elements and vocabulary? The Portuguese trade ships were some of the first to arrive on our shores. They mostly traded with the coastal communities. They named Lagos because of the Lagoon and after the city in there country, the original Lagos. The word Sabi (to know) is from Portuguese; so is Pickin ( child).
Sabi (se bi ) is yoruba language
@@bolajames6890 Not really, sorry you’re wrong. Sabi (to know) is from Saber Portuguese and Spanish which means to know. She-bi is Yoruba for “that’s correct, not so?” Or used to ask a rhetorical question.
@@bolajames6890 you are 💯wrong
I will not be surprised because the Portuguese came before the English. We should have been speaking Portuguese by now instead of English 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
@@bolajames6890 se bi is another word different from sabi.
I love how well you guys are rolling with the pidgin..
The pidgin English is a creole like the one you guys used to have in Lousiana, Haiti, Jamaica, Dominica and other Countries where the local people made up foreign languages for local understanding. The English version is spoken in Countries like Nigeria, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Ghana and some pockets of people from Liberia. There is also a French version in the French speaking African Countries.
We call it kouri vini☺️. The elders just aren’t passing it down as they should.
Ageg can also be used to say, "I don't care." People usually say 'abeg eeee', in cases like when someone reports you to the principal and you can be like "abeg eeeee" with some attitude meaning you don't care
Abeg probably comes from 'I beg your pardon' with attitude. Most people today only say 'I beg...' With attitude almost like 'Excuse me!'
You guys turned it on! 😂. I've been laughing and having stomach aches as a result. I love this - you guys learning how to speak pidgin English. Amazing
Lol. U killed me with my husband is kampe and my wife has kampe mind. Most times kampe ends a sentence. Example: my husband dey kampe, meaning my husband is solid. My wife mind dey kampe.
But not all d time it ends a sentence. Eg I dey kampe well well, I am very solid. My own dey kampe pass hin own. Meaning mine is more solid that his/or hers.
*'hin' in pidgin has possessive property and can be for both genders, and comes b4 d noun d person is possessing. In the example above it means his own or her own
Another example is 'my car fine pass hin car, or my car fine pass hin own'. U can guess the meaning
I'm Nigerian Ibibio, and I did my ancestry a few years ago. All the relatives that are on my list, about 5,000 people and growing are mainly from Louisiana and neighboring States; so you are not wrong on that.
Love from Nigeria ❤️
Lol, I actually love the way your guys are practicing it on yourselves in sucha fun manner, I think it works great😅
You can say "bad bele free me becos I dey kampe, nottin do me". Means "jealous person/people leave me alone because I am very alright/fit, nothing is wrong with me". 😌
You can create words in pidgin English that people will accept and become normal pidgin words.
I be ur number 1 fan tey tey and I no Dey too comment like that but this episode sweet me die. U guys are amazing and I fit bet u say pilgin English sweet pieces and e dey easy to learn
Wow!! you're getting it am enjoying you guys vibe ooo
The good thing about pidgin is , I as a Cameroonian can have a well rounded conversation with a nigerian in pidgin even though we are from diff countries
I don't agree with her spelling of:
WATIN......nope. it's actually spelt WETIN . The fun thing about pidgin is how free it can flow....new forms of expressions are always hyped.
Hahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Your wife is kind da funny....
You must add attitude, or charisma ...
Pidgin is sweet...
You guys are cool together.Pls your reaction to Nigeria's Uche Chukwumerije's poem will be appreciated ...Love you both, Thank you!
I like the way Sierra was saying 'wetin' ❤ from Nigeria.
This was very funny , i was watching it on tv, i actually stood up to get my phone to make this comment 😂😂
I'm new in this channel but I really love the way y'all speak pigeon love from the Gambia
Much love!
So just like she said, nigerian pidgin is coined from alot of Nigerian languages mixed with English. Like igbo, yoruba, hausa and Benin too. Nigerian pidgin is fun I promise lol
Lol. Let's chop means let's eat. But to put it better in pidgin you say ' come make we chop', or 'make we chop', or 'make we lem' or 'make we lette'. Lem and lette are more of street slang for chop. All of them mean 'eat'
You made me laugh so hard, I wish y'all can understand how funny you were in this video
You guys are funny!, I love the family interest and effort in learning Nigeria pidgin English. Congratulations!!
(Give me)- (Give it to me).
(I no no)- ( I don't know).
(Comot for here)- (Get out from here).
(Wetin deh happen)- ( What's happening).
(Make we Chop)- ( Let's eat).
Lol, you guys are too very much. Cracking me up. Don't worry, you are doing great

🤣u guys are funny, pikin English is sweet when u know how to speak it well. U guys dey try oo
Which one be pikin English again comrade
"Una " is y'all in Nigerian pidgin why" uno" means the same in the Jamaican patois
it comes from igbo language . depends on the dialect some say unu and uno
@@chisomnzeh6249 yeah i know it comes from the igbo word
Pigin English is dynamic and broad, that there is even warri pigin, that one is quite interesting to hear.
Love watching you videos it's fun and informative even as an African, (Nigerian 🇳🇬) that has never travelled out. Love you guys 😘

😂😂😂😂😂im cracking up with the been been , before before , now now love it 😂😂😂😂
😅😅😅😅I dey enjoy una well-well.
Wow, love from Nigeria
You guys are comedians, have been laughing with my kids😅😊
I believe "wetin" derives from "what thing"? The British spoke formally, so they might have said something like "what thing is that"? (versus American: what is that?)
"comot" is "come out"
"How fa/far" derives from "how far with you"
yea sierra. wetin dey road means what's on the road... so youre right. it goes together😁
Lmao 😂😂😂 I love you guys, been binging since yesterday, just subscribed. ❤from 🇳🇬
Una don try ❤❤😂
U can use it this way ( I dey kamkpe) which means am good... like I've strength for the work
Una no go kill me with laugh 😅😅
U guys are so hilarious, jst laughing in my bedroom, bt it's a good thing you guys are learning this
Lol

U guys really tried!!!!😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Abeg make una no let me laugh piss for body ( please you guys shouldn’t let me laugh so hard that I’d wet myself)
Chaiiii I tried with the interpretation
(I deh come)- ( Am coming)
( I go call you later)- ( I will call you later)
( I deh vex)- ( Am angry)
Okaaaay.. Sierra got the attitude down to a Tee! I hear a little patios, especially the repetition of words like "well well"
U guys are really amazing ❤️❤️💕
You guys should try pidgin spoken from a city called WARRI (Warfi). Pidgin is at another level from out there.
Wahala is gbege there

The "watin" part is actually spelt "wetin" and not as spelled on the video you saw. Wetin means "what" or "what is it?"
Una well done
(My mama no deh)- ( My mom is not at home).
( I wan go see my friend)- ( Am going to see my friend).
