Having seen your original video about the CGO600 and researching further, I decided that it was the perfect bike for me. I love it and the gates carbon belt combined with the electric motor is fantastic. I even ride this bike regularly without any assistance as it is so light.

I've had my Estarli e28 since about May this year - I remember commenting about it on the original Tenways review - Estarli being on most Cycle-To-Work schemes was the thing that got me onboard with them in the end. Very stoked to see Estarli getting out there a little more! Loving mine, really appreciate the gears living in hilly Kent. The mudguards are earning their keep this time of year!

Thank you for this review. Benefits of gearing are hard to understand if you begin your journey with a single speed. Once you use gears, it's hard to give them up. In addition to difficulty riding with a flat battery, some are going to load up the back with a rack and panniers and groceries.

Cadence sensor bikes will keep giving you its intended power, no matter how tired your legs get. Conversely, torque sensor bikes reflect and amplify your fatigue, by giving less as you able to give less.

    • @LieuNoir
      @LieuNoir 7 месяцев назад

from my experience, torque sensor are much more natural, you get the electric support nearly immediately. With cadence sensor, you have to do a half(?) turn of the cranks before the motor starts. It's makes it much more responsive to use, I think.

I hope no one thinks they can ship their bike back to China, or even the factory in UK for repair. All bike repair is local. Maybe the bigger concern with all these Direct To Consumer bikes brands is can your Local Bike Shop, or you yourself, source replacement parts to fix it? This is why bike shops wouldn't want to retail DTC grade bikes. They need to honor a warranty and even out of warranty, they need to be able to look their customer in the eyes and say, I can fix your broken bike. With some DTC, they'd have to say, "I cannot get parts for that motor, and that motor is no longer available that I can see, so we'd have to try to lace up a new wheel with a new motor as long as I can find one that's compatible with your built in controller."
I think some interviews with Local Bike Shop mechanics are in order. Bring these bikes to them with some theoretical failures and see what they say about parts availability for in-frame battery failures, failed sensors, etc.

REVIEW OF TENWAYS: So I wanted to make a complaint and find a rapid solution to some problems with your product. After watching many reviews I was super excited to get my hands on this product.
But the whole experience so far has been awful.
After long delays on delivery (4 weeks) I had to book 4 vacation days off work (as it never arrived on the programmed time) to receive the product. So I have lost 4 days of work
And then, when it did arrive, to make things worse, it arrived with the wrong parts making the bike completely defunct and obsolete: the wheel doesn't even fit under the frame making it impossible to turn
I am not sure if the wheel is too big, both are at 70cm (in which case you need to send a new wheel)
Note: the ordered bike is Medium size
Or if the frame and forks are too small (in which case you need to send a new bike)
The problem now is about broken trust
With the shipping issues you have lost trust, how can i know i don't have to wait 4 weeks to return then 4 weeks to get a replacement, making the whole debacle 3 months on length
You have broken trust in the quality control of breaks and batteries. I cant establish these work if I cannot even attach the front wheel and I can see this has been an issue with other companies
You have broken trust in your customer service, I have emailed for a business invoice and help with shipping twice with no reply at all for weeks. On your website it states you reply in 24 hours and it is 'professional.' This is a lie and at best mis marketing.
    Other failures:
Your instruction manual is out of date
The front light was applied backwards
There may be more to discover
I am not even close to closing this chapter as I will have to navigate bad customer support now
    -----
    For the record:
I will not accept anything short of an immediate shipment of a replacement bike
or certainly that a new wheel will suffice, but given that the both are 70cm i presume both wheels are the wrong size in the case
    -----
I expect a reply within 24 hours, with a phone number to speak with a real person, otherwise i will file a "european small claims report" and you can arbitrate though court.
I will also pass this story onto friend in Barcelona who runs a prominent bicycle review blog / socials here
I will change this entry and update dependent on how you respond
    -----
ADVICE TO CUSTOMERS: Do not be fooled by the slick design of the website and paid promotions, this company has not got its act together abd will cause you a huge headache
I am always willing to be convinced otherwise but let's see.
So far: avoid like the plague

It would take you a minute or more to try to up/down, enter your way through the menu using the buttons to enter. It's also just a goofy feature that Chinese motor makers include for free and no one uses because entry is so sketchy. No points for that one.
