Thank you - It's just a little slap back echo. I don't have the settings handy right now, but if you search RUclips / Google for Rockabilly slap back echo, you'll get an idea of what to do :)
Thank you - I'm using a Line 6 POD HD500 here, but there are a few good options out there. The Danelectro echo pedals have always sounded good to me. The best option out there is probably the Nocturne Mystery Brain, but they can be a little pricey.

Hi there. Thanks so much for providing this. It’s helping me a lot. I wondering if you have seen the video of Setzer in Japan 92? He sometimes uses bar chords for the main riff and I can’t figure the. Out to save my life. It almost looks as though he starts on the 4th or 5th fret and then finishes of the 7th like you did. Any insight would be appreciated.
Hi there - I do this too sometimes. He's just using the E (7-7-9-9-9-9), A (5-7-7-6-5-5) and B (7-9-9-8-7-7) bar chords. If he's doing the intro part with bar chords, leave your ring finger baring the bottom 4 strings on the 9th fret and slide your index finger from the 6th to the 7th fret.
@@RobBrindleyGuitar Thanks for the reply. So its similar to the bar chords you use at 11:08? It almost looks like Setzer E(EBG bared 4th fret, B 5th fret, D 6th fret, A 7th fret)
Hi Nigel, Thank you! I'm using a Line 6 POD HD500 to record this, no analogue pedals and no amp. The POD has amp modelling built in and is replicating a Fender style amp. When I play live, I use the POD and a Blackstar HT Club 40 Mk II
@@RobBrindleyGuitar Yeah it's just really hard to see the technique at that angle, because they're really cool licks just can't get head around them fully. Thanks for replying to me on a video on 3 year old video though, much appreciated.
Thanks Frank - I'm not using an amp for this video. I use a Line 6 POD HD500 with amp modelling. It has all my effects programmed on it, too. A lot of people look down on digital stuff but, if you spend the time, it can sound great :)
Is that the real sound of that guitar or is it the Amp that gives the sound or do you have a pedal to make sound that way ??? I play that guitar at guitar center and it sound that way at all
That is amazing lesson….thank you…very good teaching…🎉

Love your channel, what bridge are you using?
Thanks J - Most of the Gretchs I use have the Tru-Arc bar bridge. I find them much more comfortable playing live :)
@@RobBrindleyGuitar I have a Setzer Hot Rod myself. Was considering a tru arch or Compton. Was just curious what were using. Thank you for replying..
The Who did a great version at Woodstock.
There’s a great version onLive at Leeds too
how did you do those licks in the start of the first part??
Hi @GaziBaba - Can you give me a time reference in the video and I'll take a look for you.
@@RobBrindleyGuitar Ah thank you, the one at "0:14 " and "0:27" and the one near "1:05" , really great lesson btw

This is a 6120T-DCH (Dark Cherry). They were a limited run done a few years ago :)

Sorry Carlos, I haven't logged into RUclips for a little while. All I'm using is a little slap back echo and compression
Good teacher with lessons ... cover lonely summer nights and won't stand in your way. Still havent seen anything close to orginal
I'd love to do 'I wont stand in your way' - I've been playing it for a while now but would have to make the backing track from scratch...
Bad Axe !!!
Pas de son pourquoi?
I assume it has been restricted in your country because of licensing.
why named stray cats in this?!
Because the solo is from the Stray Cats 'Hollywood Strut' album, As I explain in the video.
@@RobBrindleyGuitar ahh ok ;)
Now that you are explaining how to play that song I hear a delay pedal or something else
Yes, There's a slap back echo on :)
