I was supposed to finish this a lot sooner, but I ran into quite a lot of problems. Anyway, you guys seemed to like the last 199 Years of Politics, so here's another one.
Sri Lanka or Ceylon ( the country below India ) managed to stay uncolonised much longer than India it's bigger neighbour That must've been quite embarrassing for India
1st Duke of Wellington, Viscount of Talavera, Prince of Waterloo, General Arthur Wellesley I really like it too. If you enjoy it, you should have a look at the creator's channels, "MarcusWarnerMusic" and "Evening Star", he's really talented, I think.
I skimmed through to see various parts, so I'm wondering if I missed something: do those two empty boxes in the key at the bottom get filled up at any point?
Em 1615 á 1808 Brasil era Principado, não mais uma colonia, um principado do reino de Portugal ,Em 1808 Brasil vira reino Junto com Portugal e Algarves, a capital do Reino é transferida para o Rio de Janeiro no Brasil.
But Israeli Funny It was supposed to only show areas of active settlement rather than exploration. If you look at some of the islands, you'll see they turn green in 1799.
Chris Paine I Agree, I Don't Know if You Like History but, Alaska Wasn't Colonized by the Russians Until the 1790s and Yeah Your Right, He Did Forgot Russian Alaska
Yes but aboriginals never formed any government, so they can't be represented on this map. The same way that most of North America, Siberia and Africa are all white, these were nomadic peoples and sparse communities, no governments.
There weren't just tribes there. There were kingdoms and empires but he just didn't include them for some reason. Like the Songhai Empire which was the largest Empire in African history. Many others as well that were ignored and some just labeled as "tribal states" even though they were complex monarchies.
Humin Behaviorz What? Songhai didn't exist in the period shown in the video. Oyo and Benin were pretty small states and you can see states appearing in their approximate location at around 1:00. Granted, one of them isn't represented and I'm not sure which.
if he splited everything there would be so many categories. Like Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth would be a 'noble democracy with a constitution and elective king' or sth like that
You didn't really do Africa any justice in this video. You ignored all of the monarchies such as the Oyo and Benin. Also empires such as the Songhai as well as confederations such as the Ashanti. Even the "tribal states" were sparse. Not sure what you meant by tribal states. I feel like you kinda forgot Africa even existed on this. Tends to happen alot when people teach about history though.
These types of maps becoming a thing is a big breakthrough for understanding historical geography

Ollie Bye You forgot that in 1792 Poland turned into a Republic and in 1793 And back into whatever you had before 1790's
Ollie Bye Music?
Dutch Imperial Mapping Daniel [DIMD] It's in the description.
THanks

A very enjoyable and well-researched video. i'd love to see a third 199 years of politics, this time one covering the developments from 1415 - 1614.
The attention to detail is awesome!...the addition of a tiny piece of land to my US state is even correctly presented...well done!
This music makes me happy.

These are so informative, very good idea!
You're awesome, i wish you could find a way to do this full time
Amazing video
Hope to be able to collaborate with you one day
Amazing! Jaw dropping!
Awesome video
Why 199, not 200? Nice video :)
I skimmed through to see various parts, so I'm wondering if I missed something: do those two empty boxes in the key at the bottom get filled up at any point?
Will there be a 1414-1615?
When will your next live stream or hangout be?
Ticktock139 Hmm, I don't know. No one has mentioned doing another one yet, but I will tell them that there is demand for another livestream.
Check out my new vid pls. I would love a comment
Ticktock139 I've already seen them, but I'll leave a comment now.
in 1815 , netherland was not a republic
no music
Pretty sure that from 1783-87 the USA was a confederation, under the Articles of Confederation until 1787 when the Constitution was adopted.
Ollie Bye, You have a mistake. At first ,Russia has not a monarch, Russia have a King. Im sorry, but... But video is AWESOME!!!
+Sevan Lap A king is just a male monarch; they are the same thing. Anyway, thanks!

Great video but you forgot Russian Alaska

+Garrett Bailey Please Don't Capitalize Every Word.
Garrett Bailey I didn't forget it. The Russians only held significant territory on the Alaskan islands before 1815, which I included.
Ollie Bye So I See, You Are Right About That, I Capitalize That Many Words Because That's How I Am
I'm pretty sure Japan would be an Empire by name
Not until 1867 with the Meiji Restoration.
musics are disappeared
You didn't show some independent states like Georgian states.
1:16 did you hear the spongebob theme song right here?
In the first 30 years, it seems like only russia moves
Australia did have people living there before the British came!
and so the Americas
and africa.. but they were tribes....

In the history of Africa only one country was not colonized by European nations Liberia with was took by former slaves
so the largest duchy, kingdom, empire and republic was russia?
T-Mag 3004 The largest empire was the British.
davidjl1234 the largest was the mongol empire at 1300.
If you do not include British dominions, then yes. But those were semi-independent.
repubic should be split into true republic and crowned republic
if he splited everything there would be so many categories. Like Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth would be a 'noble democracy with a constitution and elective king' or sth like that
But where was the British EMPIRE ;) ?

Испания и Британия были империями
