- My dad and I went fishing for Walleye and Trout on the Columbia River and did good! Limited out! And then I hooked into what I believe was a sturgeon and it took all the braided line off my reel in the matter of seconds!

You were way under gunned for that big fish, it spooled you in seconds. Next time you’re targeting monster fish you need more line on your reel or that will happen every time.

What size weight were you guys using? And did you use a worm needle for the worms? Did you guys fish for the walleye and the trout with the same exact rigging or were they different? Sorry for all the questions.
4-5 oz weights to make it stay in the current, we just used a plain hook and put a whole night crawler on and we would fish for the trout and walleye at the same time using the same setup... I tried using a different setup for the trout but wasn’t successful but we seem to catch some trout using this setup! Thanks for watching!
