- How to test if an H02S 02 sensor heater element has failed.
Find the 2 wires with the same color.
Set multi meter to Ohms.
Use Ohms to measure resistance.
The Ohms should be 3-25 or the O2 sensor is bad and has failed.

Subscribed. I have been fixing my cars my entire life and I love it when I find someone that speaks my language!! Wife's honda 2013 accord v6 is throwing this code. Already did Cataclean and waiting to see if any codes pop up. If so, will look at O2 sensors. Getting better with my multimeter... Thank you for helping out the common man garage mechanics!! Pretty much what I thought I needed to do.
so i need to completely take the sensor out in order to test the heater element side ?
It can be tested while still in the vehicle; just find the correct pins in the harness.
@@HVAC_Mechanicyou got a tik tok or facebook so i can send you a video ?
thanks for this, ended up making a pickle jar smoke machine and found the leak #3 exhaust gasket being the cause of the 02 code popping up. Whew easy fix for once
What should the heater wire read on the vehicle end of the o2 sensor harness for a 2uzfe
Top 2 points are ox+ and ox- and bottom left is B+ and right bottom is the heater how should I test it on the vehicle side of it
I drive a 5.3 gmc sierra 1500 4whl dr can i disconnect my mass airflow sensor while the truck is running or I have to turn off the truck to check it cause I have a po175 bank 2 fuel is ok
There are different methods to test the MAF sensor. Here is a video how I test them with a low-cost scan tool. ruclips.net/video/kzISHRN1Qjs/видео.html
Hello .. How do you know on the 2 heater element wires which one is negative or Positive- or don’t it matter ?? I am putting one together…
A schematic for the vehicle is needed to know for sure, but usually black is negative, and white or any other color is positive. It won't matter when testing it since it is the same as testing a light bulb.
Thank you for that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
Exactly how does one determine the wires to the Heater element of the sensor?
Usually, the two wires with the same color are for the heater element, and the mismatched wires are for the 02-sensor part.
good stuff dude
Thank you
Wow,l got it my friends will think l'm so smart WOW, Thanks.
What year engines would start to have this?
Most any vehicle with a fuel injected engine and a computer will have a 02 sensor. They moved from carburetors to fuel injection in the 1980s with most vehicles from 1990 on, fuel injected.
What about an “Air fuel sensor heater circuit response malfunction” message? What gives the “response malfunction message” part of the error?
I need to know too
I drive a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 4whl dr have a po172 po175 my Maf sensor is reading 4.07g/s an 3.04g/s an po446 please respond keep those video coming
I would fix the P0172 and P0175 first which can be caused by several things, including the MAF sensor, Oxygen sensor, bad fuel pump, fuel filter, and possibly an injector. Each component will need to be tested. If the MAF sensor test is good, I would do a fuel pressure test to see if it is fuel related. Here is a video on how to test the MAF sensor. ruclips.net/video/kzISHRN1Qjs/видео.html
From what I have seen 2.4g/s would approximate a 2.4 liter engine, thus your observed result would seem to approximate either a 4 or 3 liter engine, assuming no vacuum leaks or other abnormalities in the air input system or other problems in the numerous other control systems.
It's a 5.3 eng fuel flex
@@simonflores3410 Have you cleaned the MAF with mass air flow cleaner? You should have readings in the 5 to 6 g/s range, yet a leak after the MAF could cause your observed results.
Code P0446 is related to Charcoal Canister. I replaced it and the code gone. Also on the way I noticed a blockage in the return fuel line, which I removed (it was after the Fuel Filter, which I replaced as well). The car was 2001 Saturn SL2.
02 Sensor Heater
Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1 P0135 Can’t figure out what to do
Would not having cats make a heater circuit malfunction code come up ?
It shouldn’t cause the heater circuit to malfunction, but it would likely throw a code saying the cat is bad or create a rich condition code because of the lack of cata
Had lots of low power mode pop up on my car fixed it and went away
✊🏾🏆
I love u❤
Basically…got it.
Toyota ?
Just do it
Just show how!
Or, for $20 just throw a new one on there.
20??? Lol mine is 180 bucks
