I 5/32" riveted mine in the same place. 52" curved. If placed the way you think they go, they would need serious modification (read: bending). I did not use the included screws in fear of cracking a windshield as the screws would poke into the windshield glue. The brackets still needed slight bending to fit properly. The light bar has 2 screws on either end to hold elevation so a 2nd small bracket will be needed as these brackets are single hole.
just got my brackets in today. cant wait to get rid of the other ones that let wind and water in and put these ones on. hope they don't let rain or water in, fingers crossed.
Victor Landa Damn. Didn’t know this video was from 4 years ago lol. I have the same style ford and I made the same mistake. Think I paid about $90 bucks for the sound diffusing brackets and have had no annoying whistling. Not that I needed the light bar but it gives the truck an amazing look.
I have a similar truck, 2003 f150 and I have the same brackets. But my light bar vibrates like hell when going above 40 mph. Did your vibrate at all? And was there anything you did to stop it from vibrating?
Alex Puls not sure. On my truck it makes very little noise. But it might be masked by the fact that my truck is noisy. But the led bar on my land rover whistles horribly at 50mph, so i feel your pain. Not sure how to fix it yet.
Could you use the universal brackets or rather the originals that come with the bars to make that same installation? Is there a problem or is it a matter of taste that they put these supports?
+Matt Sweigard I find some noise at about 60mph, but my truck is old and rickety and always makes one nose or another. I actually cut the outer parts of the weather stripping to allow for the brackets, but it didn't affect it for me, the truck still stays dry.
Victor Landa but I think it was supposed to go behind now water will get in your door jam and you should have put some silicone where the screws go through the metal to prevent water leakage and rusting
HDRUclips Videos I removed a piece of the weather strip. I kept the part of the strip that runs over the windshield in tact but removed the part that cushions the door. Water leakage hasn't been an issue for me but i live in a desert. To prevent rust, other commenters have suggested silicone or paint where the screws holes are.
I have a 01 F150, do you recommend rivets or the screws that come with the brackets? I'm going 50" roof mount and 20" in bumper with 2- 4" crew reverse lights.
Warren Sterling Nice. I actually ended up replacing the screws that came with the brackets. I went to Home Depot and purchased the same size screw that came with the brackets but a slightly thicker version.
Tommy Fitzgerald I actually had to remove the brackets again and and cut a small piece of the weather strip where the brackets are screwed in while keeping the weather strip in tact
I tightened everything down. I think it vibrates a little but I hardly notice anymore, that being said it's not the most aerodynamic thing for my truck, but I love how it looks now.
Have you had to replace your gem or fuse box panel afterwards I put same brackets on mine and just recently had to replace my fuse panel because my windshield leaked where I cut that piece out and ran down to my fuse panel
can the mount go like above the curve on the door? i got a 52 inch but i have a visor on my truck and i dont really want to take the visor off im hoping to find a braket that will go above the visor
Joaquin Aguilar would that look stupud thow i want the truck to have a good look to it and i havent really seen any trucks with it mounted like that lol
Lol that was gonna be my option if I got the visor first and but I got a 52" led light bar first and decided to not get the visor only reason I was gonna do it that way was alot of my buddy's say the LED light bars leave a glare off the hood that's why I'm gonna hook mine up with laser cut brackets and if it glares I'm gonna fab up a mini visor to go on the under side of the light bar to shield it from shining off the hood
I think these are it www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-150-Light-Bar-Bracket-50-52-LED-1997-2003-F150-Made-in-USA-LightBar-/282104997409?hash=item41aec4a621:g:t1QAAOSwGYVXA-KY&vxp=mtr
Those are the ones that I ordered and for some reason they don't fit right and I ended up cracking my windshield. And there's no way the light bar will bolt up on both sides and mine is a 50-in curved
There's tons of different ones on ebay. i just did a search for "LED bar bracket 2001 f150" (im not sponsored by anyone but heres a sample link) www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-150-Light-Bar-Bracket-50-52-LED-1997-2003-F150-Made-in-USA-LightBar/282104997409?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3Dc2535ed7dc1044dfb43b0d9216173c6d%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252700104238
You could probably get away without doing it but the eBay listing for mine stated "PLEASE NOTE TRIMMING OF THE DOOR WEATHER STRIPPING MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE BRACKET TO FIT FLUSH" so I just cut off enough of it to be able to screw the brackets on.
Kevin Bowman depends what kind of vehicle your putting them on I have a second generation Dodge RAM and I could only find two people had them APOC and a knock off brand I got the knock off brand since it was only 35 buck free shipping compared to APOC wich is like 75 bucks give or take that's a crazy price and they know they think there probably the only company making them for the 2nd gen Dodge RAM truck
Jeremy Wininger No the brackets can go high if you want or low until it doesnt fit anymore. It's about where you want it. Theres really no wrong or right way bro lmao.
I just bought a 52in curved lightbar and I have the same truck. I hope that won't be too big lol
Im like 70% sure it'll be ok lol
So did I 52 inch curved and 99 f150 my problem is i ordered the wrong brackets i need brackets like his good video.
Yo how’s meow meow lol funny that I saw you here
If you partake in the smokeless tobacco , pack one with me

Those holes drilled are eventually going to rust if ya don’t put some sealant on that bracket

james taylor no leaks in mine so far :]
For yall woundering where to buy these brackets amazon sells them
If you’re going to get a light bar for your daily drive get the sounds diffusing brackets!!!!
I don't even have that truck anymore lol but yeah the whistling got annoying past 50mph
Do you have any pictures of exactly where you screwed the brackets into the door frame?
Nah. Made that video 8 years ago. I Don't even have the same truck lol
I have a similar truck, 2003 f150 and I have the same brackets. But my light bar vibrates like hell when going above 40 mph. Did your vibrate at all? And was there anything you did to stop it from vibrating?

You could use the ones that came with the bar, but I did not want to drill on the roof of my car.
What website did you buy the brackets off. Also how good did they hold up from now.
just got them off Ebay. had to get more screws at home depot. it still on there hasn't moved
Thank you!
How do you find the road noise at higher speeds? Also, do you find those brackets interfere with your weatherstripping on your door?
+Matt Sweigard I find some noise at about 60mph, but my truck is old and rickety and always makes one nose or another. I actually cut the outer parts of the weather stripping to allow for the brackets, but it didn't affect it for me, the truck still stays dry.
Victor Landa but I think it was supposed to go behind now water will get in your door jam and you should have put some silicone where the screws go through the metal to prevent water leakage and rusting
do you know if that same model of bracket fits on a ford ranger 1996?
Sorry, No idea. I don't even have that truck anymore. Lol
Brake light is out
Getto fabulous
100% fabulous 😎
Victor Landa and 200% ghet-toe
that's like 300% 😱
Do you have to cut the weather stripping or no? What is the best way to do this and prevent rust and water leaking into the cab?
HDRUclips Videos I removed a piece of the weather strip. I kept the part of the strip that runs over the windshield in tact but removed the part that cushions the door. Water leakage hasn't been an issue for me but i live in a desert. To prevent rust, other commenters have suggested silicone or paint where the screws holes are.
If you pause at 14:21 you can kinda see what I did
Thank you!
I'll post a small walk around video when done.
Warren Sterling looking for your walk around video.
Warren Sterling you ever post it
how did you put the weather strip back on after you mounted the bracket. I got my brackets today for the 97 F-150 and I am confused
Tommy Fitzgerald I actually had to remove the brackets again and and cut a small piece of the weather strip where the brackets are screwed in while keeping the weather strip in tact
Tommy Fitzgerald pause the video at 14:23 to kind of see what I did.
Where did you get those brackets ??
Got them 6 years ago on ebay. Can't help ya now, you're gonna have to search for f150 light bar brackets.
Does it light up dash so hard to see I bought brackets makes it not perfect to see
huh?
With light bar on is there a lot of glare from the dash on the windshield
ohhh, not really. i tried to aim the light past the hood of the truck. also you can vynil or plastidip the hood black for less glare in general.
What???
do you get any vibration from your light bar placement?
I tightened everything down. I think it vibrates a little but I hardly notice anymore, that being said it's not the most aerodynamic thing for my truck, but I love how it looks now.
Have you had to replace your gem or fuse box panel afterwards I put same brackets on mine and just recently had to replace my fuse panel because my windshield leaked where I cut that piece out and ran down to my fuse panel
Taylor Smith haven't had any issues with mine. But I live in a desert. Water is never really an issue here.
Victor Landa did you silicone or put anything in the place of where you cut that piece out?
Nope, how it is in the video is how i left it. People are suggesting placing silicone where i drilled into the metal.
can the mount go like above the curve on the door? i got a 52 inch but i have a visor on my truck and i dont really want to take the visor off im hoping to find a braket that will go above the visor
It might but probably not, it drills into that metal sliver that surrounds the windsheild.I'm not to sure how it would do up on the roof part.
Brandon Truty just mount it straight to the visor with brackets provided
Joaquin Aguilar would that look stupud thow i want the truck to have a good look to it and i havent really seen any trucks with it mounted like that lol
Lol that was gonna be my option if I got the visor first and but I got a 52" led light bar first and decided to not get the visor only reason I was gonna do it that way was alot of my buddy's say the LED light bars leave a glare off the hood that's why I'm gonna hook mine up with laser cut brackets and if it glares I'm gonna fab up a mini visor to go on the under side of the light bar to shield it from shining off the hood
We will see
You got a fb page?
So.....does water leak inside truck?
No sir.
Can you go more in depth about the weather striping
So where did you order the brackets from
I got them on eBay :]
I think these are it
www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-150-Light-Bar-Bracket-50-52-LED-1997-2003-F150-Made-in-USA-LightBar-/282104997409?hash=item41aec4a621:g:t1QAAOSwGYVXA-KY&vxp=mtr

can you used that light on the frwy or only for offroad only
baguiocityPH it is illegal to have it on while driving on public roads. Off road only.

@@Landa62888 I click the link, but the page does not show me the Ford F150 Light LED Bar Bracket.
It's been 4 years since i made this video. I think utll be the same no matter what brackets you get.
@@Landa62888 Ok 🖐
does your light bar vibrate around 50 mph
james taylor yup, the kit i got didnt have enough screws, after the video I replaced them with more screws and thicker ones, it vibrates less now,
james taylor my light bar vibrates really bad did you ever find a solution?
how come your led bar came with a switch button
That's how the eBay guy sold it to me, switch and everything.
How long was your wiring
I dont remember, but there was plenty of it.
do you have a link for this light bar?
Justin McCourt the eBay listing is so old I cant find it. But if you search "52 in LED white curved led light Bar" there's similar stuff.
Victor Landa sweet, thank you I’ll see if I can find it lol
did you really have to cut the weather stripping to install the brackets?
You could probably get away without doing it but the eBay listing for mine stated "PLEASE NOTE TRIMMING OF THE DOOR WEATHER STRIPPING MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE BRACKET TO FIT FLUSH" so I just cut off enough of it to be able to screw the brackets on.

where did you buy the brackets
+Marco Solis eBay, look for "LASER CUT led brackets"
thanks how much was it?
+Marco Solis I paid $45 but I've seen them as low as $23
+Victor Landa
thank you I found them
That's only a 3d light bar. They have 4d, 5d, and 7d now even have ones with halos and color to change them.
Lol nice, at the time I just really wanted a light bar, my only criteria was that it matched my truck :p
How can you tell what any light bar is? I'm looking at a 52" 300w Nicolight on Amazon and don't see anywhere on the listing what it is?
Larry Jonap The way the reflectors look like. Just type all that on Ebay instead of Amazon it should show you.
Just tried to find it and no luck on ebay
Works for me not sure how it's not working for you. Not sure how else I can have you search otherwise.
You put the brackets on wrong,,
Yeah probably, but there was no instructions, and they seem to be holding. what did I do wrong?
+Victor Landa The brackets where suppose to go down further
Oh dang, I didnt even think to look at or research the hight placement, I was just going off the pictures on eBay. lol
Jeremy Wininger No the brackets can go high if you want or low until it doesnt fit anymore. It's about where you want it. Theres really no wrong or right way bro lmao.
the white bar on Amazon:www.amazon.com/dp/B0148FWBCM
what size screws did you use
I honestly don't remember the size, i just used the screws that came with the brackets.
It’s installed too high.
Now you tell me?! I don't even have that truck anymore lol :p
Go to www.auxbeam.com for light bars I got one I have 4 day until it arrives at my house can't wait for it.
