We had a feeling this was sung live - just from the audio - but it was so well produced we didn't even notice until we watched it a second time. We actually talked about the similarity this song has to early Beatles songs, but we left it on the cutting room floor since the video was getting a little long. But yes... we definitely felt the similarities. And we LOVE it!

This was indeed performed live. This song makes me happy. And by the way, the 3 members of Jimin's band in the beginning are Big Hit's music producers who worked with Jimin on his FACE album as well as his upcoming MUSE album.
This song is being called a follow-up to BTS' song THE TRUTH UNTOLD, which is a meaning of the blue "SMERALDO" flower (also seen in the beginning of FAKE LOVE mv), along with "the truth I cannot tell". Here, Jimin is boldly confessing his feelings and desires, unlike Jin's tragic hesitancy in the BANGTAN UNIVERSE storyline or the original folktale in the BU.
Eventually becoming familiar with the Bangtan Universe fictional storyline that shows up more or less throughout a lot of BTS' lyrics and videos adds a richness to the appreciation of all the references and creativity that goes into their productions.
In the more recent years, a familiarity with Carl Jung's Map Of The Soul personality theories (includes Shadow / mask, Persona & Ego) also helps reveal some of the visual and lyric references in some of their songs.
Per usual, fyi, there are YT videos and plenty of articles by ARMY that explain these references. SUGA & spice, xCeleste, Bookish Theories and others have some theory / explanation videos.

The band members in this video are his producers and the team Jimin has worked with to write a number of his solo projects. It is sweet were included on screen. The album this song is on comes out in July. He worked on this prior to entering the Military service. I can only imagine how hard he worked prior to conscription. 2 albums completed, Face released in 2023, and now Muse, plus the single Closer than This. All when the guys were taking a break from group activities and resting. Doesn't sound like much rest to me. They all impress me, but as Suga says, he "never worries about Jimin because he works so hard."

Smeraldo garden marching band is the pre-release song of Jimin's new album Muse. And also the name he gave to the band with him : Pdogg, Evan, Ghstsloop, witch are Big Hit in-house producers and song writers Jimin's (and BTS) work with since BTS début. (watch the credit for almost every BTS'song since 2013 and you would see Pdogg's name, he's called the "master mind" behind BTS success) .
This little team works with Jimin in his solo projects : all together with Jimin, they write, composed and produced the album Face and most part of the upcoming album Muse too. They call themselves the "smeraldo marching band"
Also, Smeraldo is a fictional flower that symbolise secrets you have to keep in BTS fictional storyline The BU , and in the song "The Truth Untold".
I feel like Pdogg is the eighth member. We owe a lot to him.
I think they performed Live on set, because Jimin would be in the military, when it was released, and not able to perform Live for ARMY. I thought Loco’s performance was a fabulous addition, matching up to Jimin, like the rap line would, and adding a good flavor to the mix. Jimin was a ball of sunshine, emitting rays of joy, warmth, charm, whimsy, and love. His duality freely shined throughout this video. It’s the happiest and most relaxed version of himself, I’ve seen in a long, long time. Welcome back, Park Jimin. Happy to see you in true form. 💜🥳🥹🥰💜

Good morning! Loved your reaction. Yes, the band are all familiar with us LOL, producers from their company who have been with them for a long time and appear with them from time to time. BTS are famous for their Rock-Paper-Scissors so it was adorable that it was included with the kids at the beginning. This is the pre-release for his new album MUSE coming out in mid-July and the MV took inspiration from Sergeant Peppers Lonely Heart-club Band. Jimin is the announcing ringmaster. He used sign language to say I Love You and at the end sign language for joy with a fluttering hand. Can you both do the dance challenge? Permission to Dance by BTS also used sign language for the chorus and even did a trailer with deaf actors at a convenience store. It is known that music and beats touch those who can not hear. Music is so universal even for those who cannot hear. Jin had a beautiful picture of sign language in his home... I believe the next chapter of BTS will have sign language and not just Japanese lyrics but Spanish. So looking forward to the comeback.

Some visual and lyrical things are important. Jimin performed Serendipity in concert starting in a plastic bubble surrounded by flowers. The way he pushes couples together is classic k-drama. The Smeraldo flower, which died a tragic death in The Truth Untold is now revived. Jimin tells us, in honesty, there were things BTS couldn't say before. BTS are the Ambassadors to the Association of Rock, Paper, Scissors, look that one up! You may not have caught LOVE in sign language. And of course he misses ARMY. This is a happy song for us!

Pdogg especially has been the main producer for BTS and has been with them for years. Jimin really has liked working with the Big Hit in house producers in his projects instead of outside producers like the other members. He really is an excellent producer and has produced so many of the best songs of BTS.

Yes, as others have said. Pdogg has been with BTS from the beginning and is one of their main producers. He knows the members inside out. He produced Face too with Ghstloop and Evan who are also producers with BigHit. All 3 of them worked with Jimin on Face and at the same time worked with other producers on what we now know is Jimin's second album to come Muse. And as others have said, they affectionately named themselves Smeraldo Garden Marching Band as a nodd to the BTS single The Truth Untold and the Smeraldo flower, there is a whole fictional back story behind it. The song (and I think the whole album) was inspired by "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles. These are the vibe similarities and connections you can draw from. The "band" are the producers of this song and generally who Jimin works with on his music.
Jimin also said the album (along with the main track "WHO" and its MV is coming out on July 19th) is about his source of inspiration, which seems to be LOVE! So far, two songs off the album are both about the love for his fans, the rest probably will be about other types of love too 😊

This song is refreshing and full of fun. I have a new appreciation for marching band sound. It gets me in an uplifting mood knowing this song was made specially for fans who only if you are a fan, you will pick up the little things shown or mentioned in the writing, dance and video. The total opposite of set me free pt2 where this time, together we raise our hands up for a great show. As always, Jimin tells a great story and how he make links with his previous works either as solo or BTS. This song makes a great introduction to his album. PDOGG is the in-house producer of bighit since day 1 of bts, and EVANS is also the producer who was with pdogg in jimins documentary during his FACE album the making. So pdogg, Evans and the other guy was jimins team in producing,writings his album face and Muse.
I was thinking the same, that many army has now mentioned, in reference to the Beatles album, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, being the inspiration, what influence it had in the making of this song & MV! For me, an excellent clue already happened in the vid: “A Day with Jimin in NYC by vogue, (perhaps you might want to watch it), which was basically a behind the scene, filmed during the time Jimin debuted “Like Crazy” on Fallon show! It showed Jimin, before going to a dance practice, rehearsing Like Crazy for Fallon tonight show, going to a record store, along with producer Pdogg who not only worked along side of Jimin throughout both albums FACE & MUSE, where Jimin pulled out that very record by the Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album & even held it up so you could see it clearly! It seemed at the time a bit out of place, sort of unexpected? Now I wonder if it was planted there? I would think that that album might be highly collectible and not amongst a pile of records. But who knows? The background, as many have also mentioned, does also have a teletubbies feel as well, about it! 🤔🧐😅👍❤🔥😍
Loco was a Bighit trainee for BTS but he and several others left when the concept changed from a hiphop rap group to a hiphop/dancing idol Kpop group. He went on to have his own career as a rapper. The “band” are major BTS writers/producers. On the keyboard is Pdogg, main writer and producer of many many BTS songs (and solos) since day 1. The 3 were co-writers/producers of Jimin’s Face album and appeared at the beginning of his song Closer to You- they were in Pdogg’s house talking about the lyrics. You can also see him in Jimin’s Production Diary documentary on Weverse , spending time at Pdogg’s house and his studio at Hybe working on the album. 💜
✨BTS‘ Jimin revealed the full track list for his upcoming second solo album, MUSE, (last yrs 1st album, FACE is still charting, worldwide), according to billboard article. The seven-song LP MUSE, due out on July 19 KST (July 18 in other time zones), will feature the intro song “Rebirth,” as well as “Interlude : Showtime,” the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (featuring Loco), “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), as well as “Be Mine,” “Who”, (single can now be purchased as presale aside from 2 versions MUSE album), and “Closer Than This” (which dropped in December.)
Jimin, 28, wrote six of the songs, according to a release, composed, also finally listed as one of the producers for most of his songs, (though shown in Jimin’s documentary his involvement in producing all his songs), which also noted that the announcement from BIGHIT Music featured a vintage feel via images of old-school cassette tapes representing each song, with an overarching theme of “love” connecting all the tracks.
The hip-hop/R&B-leaning focus song, “Who,” was produced by Grammy-nominated singer/producer Jon Bellion, along with Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Pdgogg and GHSTLOOP, with a vibe described as “intense bounce and guitar sound.” In addition, the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” draws inspiration from marching bands, “blending hip-hop elements with the big band sound characterized by a large-scale orchestra, creating an upbeat, lively rhythm and dynamic atmosphere thanks to an assist from South Korean rapper Loco.”
Other contributors to the album include Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber), as well as producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN, who also worked on Jimin’s first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jimin’s official solo debut came with the 2018 single “Promise.” Five years later, he became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy,” followed by FACE‘s “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” reaching No. 30 on the chart.

ONE of the things I love about OT7 is they are so humble. I have become so tired of groups saying I wrote, I composed, I produced and you look at the credits and it’s a team. Nothing wrong with a team. So ungracious. Then we have Jimin …. Who has Pdogg front and center…. BRAVO! BTS members understand teamwork. All rounders are very very rare and expertise is a real thing. For other idols to take complete credit is offensive to me. Folks behind the scenes deserve credit and respect. BRAVO Jimin!
Some of the fans (solos) need to be humbled as they will slam your face into "facts" that the member wrote, produced, composed, and conceptualized everything themselves. Yet the members are always upfront that it's a team effort. There are only a very few songs that one member did themselves.

Some background-
Loco was in the original BTS lineup back when they were supposed to debut as a hip hop crew. He left (voluntarily) when they were told they would have to dance. That is why the ending where Jimin drags Loco out to do a bit of choreography is so cute.
The three guys in the band are producers. They worked with Jimin to write and produce both of his albums. I’d like to give a special shoutout to PDogg, the guy on the keyboard. PDogg is basically the 8th member of BTS. He has been with them from the beginning, and he is credited as a producer on the majority of their music. This is his first appearance in a music video, so we are happy to see him.

Pdogg didn't write most of the songs, RM and Suga did. RM is the lyricist, Suga the producer. They have explained how they work and you can see it in the various series and documentaries. Why would Suga constantly keep a notebook for ideas and bring all that equipment on yours? Those two send drafts of their work (Suga calls the production a "frame") and they send it over to PDogg and others, who are their STAFF. This is the essence of BTS. There would be no point in having such a talented producer and lyricist among BTS members, it's why they were signed on by Bang Si-hyuk. You can also read about it in their book as well as watch a lot more material.
RM maybe the main writer of the songs but most of their songs have numerous people with writing credits on it. PDogg has a writing credit on almost all of their songs. He is also the main producer of BTS since the beginning. He oversees everything

I didn't understand if you liked the song, but it is not like everything that has been released lately, it is so addictive, it creates the illusion of absolute happiness, especially when your favorite artist sings. I think I will not be mistaken if I call this track a summer hit.

BTS has a song "The Truth Untold" which is based on a heartbreaking story and the fictional Smeraldo flowers as a man grew the flowers for the girl but never got to speak to her to tell her or share his feelings or anything (because he feels he is very ugly so he wears a mask) before she eventually died. Here, Jimin is putting a positive vibe on the smeraldo flowers by spreading joy spreading love in this song, this is so beautiful with references to the past (June 12 was BTS debut showcase) and a march towards the future! hope you can check out BTS "The Truth Untold" live performance, thank you!
