Thanks for watching everyone! I was planning on doing the Looper X video after this one, but mine had some bugs in it and I sent it back to Sweetwater to get a new one…. And now they are back ordered until September. So it might be a while, but I still plan to review the X. That thing is absolutely crazy all the things it can do!
Hey Scott! Off topic (sort of), but have you looked at Loopy Pro yet? I would LOVE to see a video (or series) from you on this. Thanks as always for your videos!
You're the most tech savvy artist out there! Applaud you for staying in the know! Takes a much time to learn the gear as it does to be creative... and you're editing video...damn man!
Thanks man, I sincerely appreciate that! I enjoy learning gear for sure… the editing is what takes forever lol, so I’m glad people are finding the videos helpful!
Thank you so much for your video, it's really clear and useful! I didn't understand if it's possibile to clear A while B is playing or viceversa. Can you explain me better the clear mechanism? Thank you so much! What can I do if I want to clear completely one track and record a new part on it?
It looks like there's no separate knobs to control your loop level, like the Boss VE8, Rc600 or RC500. Is that the case?. I see input level control, but no loop level control.
What if ( while in synce mode) you want to record drum thingy on a switch to b record back up track then play solo over everything but then stop b from playing and have a continue the loop beat?? can you stop one sync track while the other one continues..
Yeah that can be a little tricky to remember, which is why I like the aux footswitch instead for just record a or b

Great review, I think the best on YT. Thank you Sir, If you don't mind, I will make little similar (of course different) test in Polish language. Have you got link for software upgrade?
THANKS FOR A FANTASTIC REVIEW. I'd never heard of this looper before, and now I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up getting it, just based on your video here alone!
EXCELLENT video. I have one question Scott. I have been using that basic red Boss looper for years with a footswitch to allow me to stop it with one tap, but I want a 2 channel looper badly. I stop/start my looped beats often mid song, is that something you can do with one tap with this looper, assuming my beat is on track one? The double tapping is a no-go for me, I need one tap to start the looped beat and one to stop it in real time. Also, does this correct the meter/timing of your loops if they are slightly off? From your demo it almost seems like it does that.
i purchased a two button foot switch to use on the Looper +. It still requires to be depressed twice for it to do anything. Is there a specific switch I need to get in order to only have to press it once?
@@palacios62771 sounds like the configuration of the button itself, it might be a toggle or momentary footswitch. Try changing the settings of it if you can
My first show with this pedal was a success…. Your video going over the features helped me navigate without having to necessarily go to the manual😁!! I’m locked in now! Thanks
The Song mode should be done just by one move - after you have recorded both loops , the looper recognizes it and changes the behaviour of the footswitches as follows : left footswitch selects loop A , right footswitch selects loop B , to stop the looper step on the footswitch wich belongs to the active loop , ( the loop wich is playing ) .... step and hold on a switch clears the loop ....
Very comprehensive review, thank you! Apart from not having to worry about software glitches, it would still be hard to choose this over a loopy pro ipad setup for me. The flexibility over there is like sci Fi.
@@ScottUhlMusic Any idea how that would work ? I’m assuming the imported drum loops would have to be assigned to one of the 128 memory slots. Would it be a case opening that, playing it on one of the tracks and then recording and overdubbing on the other whilst in sync mode ?
hey, I was just wonderin can we connect mic, guitar and key(akai midi play)??? .Please can you suggest I'm Planning to buy the looper But I'm not sure if three input works?
Another excellent review! TY! However, I'm a simple guy and only an intermediate guitarist. I'll stick with my Boss RC-30. TBT, I'm using the simple looper on my Prime P1 more than the Boss. If I get better at looping, I might dust off the RC-30 as it has better features. Again, I really appreciate the review. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you for your tutorial! Is there a stop all and start all option for both tracks? Also which 4 button footswitches do you recommend instead of the TT2? I plan on ordering this today :)
To each his own I guess but for me, I just want a looping pedal that does the job of looping without all the other stuff. I don't want drums or effects that no one buys. I don't want to buy extra pedals just so it will work properly. I'm just getting used to this pedal but I'm psyched about it so far. The ability to serial loop with a guitar and microphone opens up a lot of possibilities. Double tapping to switch tracks is a drag but can be overcome by assigning the Encoder button to do that job (no need for an external pedal). I'd guess that Ed Sheeran had a list of very usable features that had to be met, even including things like it's weight and hefty foot pads. It's really built like a tank. Some of the other pedals I've used like the Ditto X4 has good sound quality, 2 separate track buttons (great feature) and a dedicated stop button (another good design ) but it won't take a mic and the lag when overdubing is just unacceptable. I have a older Boss RC30 which works well, is simple to use but the sound quality isn't very good and it won't serial loop. I tried the Boss RC500 which I believe will serial loop, has a mic input and great sound quality but gave up on it because it's just too complicated. It's just too easy to get into trouble. I rented one and almost went blind looking at the postage stamp size screen trying to fix it. Compared to all the other pedals I've tried, the Sheeran X Looper is a bargain and a solid tool for a gigging soloist.
Thanks for sharing! And this is exactly what I was talking about at the beginning of the video. Everyone has such a different goal/need in mind with looping especially. It’s extremely true with looping more than anything else I’ve reviewed. Thanks again for commenting
Would love to know how you're connecting your M Vave keyboard to your phone. Looking to add a synth and or drum pad option to my Sheeran Looper + setup.
I really like this video. It would be totally awesome if you made a video on how you programmed your midi pedal. I have no clue and it's somewhat intimidating. Thanks
Echoing and expanding on what others have said - your ability to constantly learn the operation of new devices and present them in details is amazing. I mean, sure, just *this* device isn't quite the console of an F-14, but it's complicated enough that I know I would have to keep a cheat card available for a while. But in the aggregate the stuff you've presented just since I've been watching (since I found your HX Stomp snapshots video) is a little bit mind boggling. The device itself is pretty cool, too. Much respect from FoCo.

No worries, I went over it in that video, and for this video I just connected via Bluetooth to my iPad. It should be pretty straight forward to setup. Thanks for watching!
Something tells me they listened to far more musicians than just Ed when they designed this looper. The gain and volume meters are so important. I always struggle to get a decent mix with my regular looper, especially when using distorted/overdriven guitars. The only looper style pedal that comes close to having control over the separate volumes is the Digitech Trio+. But this is far better. Great review, thank you.
I might be tempted if I didn't already have several loopers and totally underuse them. But I appreciate the video because it's spurred me to hook one up and give it another go. Mahalo!
Couple of points to add Scott. When you save a loop it remembers the foot control assignments which is handy if you save different modes of looping and want the pedals to do different things. The big issue I have with the looper is lack of volume control of your loops. If you load a loop into the machine you can't alter its volume like you can with a ditto+. Equally you can't alter loop volume on the fly when you have just recorded something so if you want something a bit more background then you have to play softer or sing quieter. Great video mate. 😊
Thanks man! And thanks for pointing these out. Like I mentioned at the beginning, it’s very interesting to see what everyone has for needs for loopers. For me personally I don’t need those, but some people it might be important. Thanks for commenting and helping people decide which one is right for them 🤘

Yeah, I have so many other videos to finish up, and that one I have one large problem with that I'm trying to reach out with them about to see if it's just an issue on my end or theirs. I'm hoping to release it sometime in June!
Given that the looper is really a sophisticated Boss RC30 you have to run 2 mics - one straight out to your speaker/mixer and the other into the looper. It helps to have a on/off switch on the looper mic.
Not that I know of. Possibly with midi clock though, I think it might be possible with that to some extent. But not “arm, wait for sound, then record,” no.
