Loved it. Brought back big memories of being part of the Crack Rifle team in San Diego in Jan-Mar 1978. Had to show this to some colleagues at Lockheed after we talked about boot camp in Air Force, Army and Navy. They could not believe the majority of my basic training was practicing spinning a rifle for this very ceremony. Thanks for sharing. Go Navy!
Graduating class of Feb 1981. Our fearless leader was Kreiss , my buddy Scott and I were the oldest 3 in our company. The two of them had previously been in the Army and I spent a couple of years on the farm after high school. Wish I could get my hands on one of the Springfields
I seem to remember doing this for more than just a few hours each day in December 82 and January 83. Like this TEAM we did not drop a rifle in the graduation ceremony which was really good. Got to wear metal horseshoes on our heels to make that distinctive clack when marching.
Master at Arms, Crack Rifle Team, CO 936, NTC San Diego. One of the highlights of my USN time. We even got off base for a public event somewhere in San Diego vicinity during boot camp
Spartans Crack Rifle Team, May-July 1977 Company 919 Thanks for the memories!!! They made us stay a week or two longer because of July 4th, well worth it, we got to go on the field and perform for an Angels game, did a bunch of parades. Good times

I was Crack Rifle in San Diego. Amazing the precision we developed in just 30 days. I especially remember the exchange arms with the Springfield. We practiced every waking moment.
I was there in San Diego! Company 945 "Lords of Discipline" We graduated on my birthday 2 Jan 87! That was a lot fun! I remember when we first started training and wondering how we were gonna do that! I wish I still had the video of ours!
Hey there Zac, I'm not sure if I remember you, although it's been over 25 years ago. We sure did ace are performance. I'm happy to hear that you stumbled across this video. Believe it or not I am still friends with one of the other guys on our squad!
uhmm.......hmmmm lets see, the navy ceremonial guard, the us army old guard.... but i do agree more parades and things like that would be nice for a morale boost
I love America but we aren't nationalistic enough! No marches through the streets or ceremonial guard teams! I think we should honor our service men and women every month with marches and songs sung in the state capital! It would be very good for national morale and make people respect the military more (the ones who don't already).
San Diego Jan 8, 1988. Company 945. I was the guy at the very right on the V. Thanks for bringing back good memories. Go NAVY!
