Hello Hans, my channel viewing figures have dropped dramatically, for some reason the South African videos have not done well so I made this video to try and attract new viewers, it ramains to be seen whether or not it works. Tim, a wide ranging and varied compilation. Your travels have kept me company since UK COVID lockdown restrictions stopped any movement and particularly to Aus to see my son & the Ausie half of my six grandchildren. Your generous back catalogue is now being augmented by your recent travels. Thanks from me, it kept me sane when any travel was confined to my four walls.
Hello Peter, putting this video together brought back plenty of good memories from my travels, we live in a wonderful world. I've made one trip to Oz & NZ since restrictions were lifted, hopefully I'll get to see my son in NZ towards the end of next year, I try to see him every other year. I know how it feels to be apart from family, missing the grandchildren growing up. Have you made plans to visit your son? I've still got plenty of cab rides from around Europe to prepare and upload to RUclips; it's nice to know you enjoy watching them. Cheers. Tim.

Hello Bob, I'm glad you liked it, my channel viewing figures and subscriptions took a hammering as a result of the South African videos. Due to circumstances beyond the tour leader’s control, I didn't get any main line forward view videos, on the occasions I was able to mount a camera on the locomotive, it failed leaving me with a couple of hours of very boring video. I've watched South African videos posted by other creators, some of them are very good, but surprisingly none of them get good viewing figures, I don’t know why that is, not only are the figures poor, the earnings per thousand views is around one third of the channel average. I enjoyed my South African tour, but I doubt I'll even earn the taxi fare to the airport from the videos. I'm deciding where to go next, an expensive overseas destination or North Wales, just a days car ride away, staying in reasonably priced B&B's with the knowledge that Welsh narrow gauge railways do well on RUclips. If I continue working, I can go pretty well anywhere, I'm passed retirement age and some days the idea of giving up on work is appealing, trouble is that would limit my ability to travel. I'm glad that at my age I'm still fit enough for retirement to be an option, rather than something forced on me by failing health. I’ve got some good footage in the can from a number of European country’s to share over the coming months and I enjoy the social aspect of RUclips. I appreciate your support over the years and it’s nice to know you enjoy my videos. Cheers. Tim 😊.
