Violet growling as Wickham is about to cruelly deceive Ms. Darcy is priceless!

I download these videos and trudge out into the woods with my big black puppy, Daisy. Yesterday, she found a deer bone and chomped on it contentedly as you read of Darcy and Collins et al. What a joy.
In grief or anxiety, a sense of purpose is the best hold to bring one into better feelings. You are giving us this. I am blazing a trail through the woods. Thank you for accompanying me into the Massachusetts woods by Little Herring Pond and allowing Violet and Daisy to play as you read and I work.

How delightful! I was almost hoping to hear you say about Mr. Darcy's behavior, "Really? Astonish me." I loved that line. Scratch Violet on the ears for her joining us. She's right on cue!

I continue to enjoy all the little imperfections, which aren't, of your readings. It makes me feel reminiscent of having been read to as a child and it is so enjoyable. It's also very evident that your Violet loves you very much and is very conscious of being your guardian. I truly believe you should venture on to other books, even if not Austen, and post more readings. I hope this time of sheltering kept you and your family safe. BTW, thank you for your comment the other time to those who must deal with the pandemic. I am a nurse and never stopped working due to my necessity and it has been exhausting. I wish I had seen these postings of yours during the worst of it because it would have been very helpful to get me to relax. Thank you again.

I love the readings! Thank you so much for sharing your gift of storytelling. This is a guilty pleasure for sure. My husband asked me what I was doing. I told him that I was watching & listening to YOU read Jane Austen. It sounds crazy, however, I think it is brilliant! I have recommended your readings- so you can expect more people to watch ☺️. Your rendering of Elizabeth Bennett remains, in my estimation, the best of them all!!

A very big thank you all the way from India... With the lockdown making me an insomniac, listening to my favourite Jennifer Ehle reading my favourite book is a treat indeed.. particularly this chapter and the last one (the proposal)... What sets this reading apart is the casual, homely manner with which she reads.. repeating if she makes a mistake, takes disturbances in the house in her stride... all in all a wonderful experience!

First time I read P&P and got to the letter chapter, I was disgusted with Wickham for being a fortune hunter. But when I looked back on it when I was older, I realised that Georgiana was also a victim of child grooming. 15 was very young to elope, even by Georgian standards 🤢

Olivia Smith Lydia is the same age as Georgiana was at the time of her elopement.

Mr. Darcy's handwriting must have been minuscule in the extreme to have written all of that on a mere two pages. It's a wonder she could read it without the benefit of a large magnifying glass.

Your reading makes even the most mundane act of organizing a space where there is none left, a pleasant experience. I save your reading for these acts when what MUST be done, SHOULD be done with calm and enjoyment to GET done.

Elisabeth Bennet - Jennifer Ehle , Quel charme ! Quel talent ! Jennifer Ehle for ever !!! Jean Linakis

Darcy must have known that proper young ladies, like Jane Bennett, didn't show their feelings in public (unlike Caroline Bingley)

How luck we are that Ms. Austen does not write longwinded and convoluted sentences in the manner of Mr. Darcy's rationalistic epistolary fauxpology.

I suppose he redeems himself in the end with his meticulous explanation of the matter, written quite through, in a very close hand.
