Even as a pure hater of Team Emperor i will always wish you best. Keep that stallion happy, sorry to hear about the Mechanic, the one benefit of having to get more work done is you eventually find one who isn't a POS faster than any normal person would, at a cost surely, but once you find them it's golden.
Yeah I had a good one at the last area I lived.... an old bloke with 2 guys working with him.... his prices were fair and good and he would talk sht on every chain mechanic ripping people off around him. I couldnt go back because the logistics were just off, so I need to find a small local guy thats not paying 5 receptionists as overheads
@@chrisbooy good luck, I'm sure there is one around just don't hire guy like i did who thinks sledgehammers are required to install half shafts/drive shafts 🙃
Around $700 on labour... about $550 on radiator and thermo and fluid.... its an hour job to swap a radiator.... when labour exceed parts thats a problem
@@chrisbooy what hourly rate was he charging for labour? Very excessive. I would have gone to bunnings on sunday morning, bought 4 litres of coolant, drained the radiator (not a flush), filles it up and driven it on sunday to see if it heated up again before going with a new radiator. Anyway, its done now, hopefully no more issues whilst dashing.
radiator and thermostat replaced ($75 on thermostat). I miss my old mechanic. Initially i thought it was just inflation really bad, but when i saw the labour on the invoice i was like yep.... just got ripped off
@@chrisbooy oh yeah. How many hours. Cause some cars replacing the radiator requires removing the under guards between the front tires and the engine bay and the front bumper. Sometimes headlight Assembly. Newer cars require so much cause they love to cram everything into as tight of a space as they can.
Then your in Australia also. Not sure how easy it is to get parts there. So they might upcharge the hell out of it. Here in the states parts for bmw and Porsche. Some China manufactured cars. But mostly German made cars and Italian ones are insane prices cause of shipping across the ocean
Dude, you got rorted. I had my radiator tank crack when I was on holiday. Stuck on the side of the highway and LubeMobile, who aren’t exactly known for being cheap, replaced it on the side of the highway for around $700. Obviously different cars means different prices but still…
@ I would like to suggest a video topic where you compare the cost of doing deliveries on a car vs motorcycle Maybe you can interview someone who does delivery by bike . I am from Brazil Road to Brazil next?
don't wanna be that guy but its a fairly easy job at home and you can get a radiator for no more than $250, only takes a few hours if your not to sure what your doing heaps of RUclips videos on it, however oi know you were in a rush and just wanted it done on the spot! if anything else ever happens definitely way up your options or get a few quotes if your not keen on doing it yourself! love the videos mate! cheers!
Learning the basic working around cars is definitely something I want to learn when I shift out of rentals and hopefully get a place with a shed to have to space to work on a car
I’d be dropping negative reviews online left and right until they apologize and offer a free service in the future in exchange for you deleting the comments

That’s a bugger with the radiator man! Sounds like the mechanic was a douche. Keep ya chin up and keep on fighting on. Look forward to the next video
Thanks Eddie! Next ones coming out on Monday... no break downs this time!.... but i do lose attitute on the last shift 😂
@@chrisbooy look forward to watching new video bro. thats good no mechanical breakdowns but maybe an emotional one 😜
Just a reminder to never give up on your dreams.

The mechanic is doing a road to Japan series and just contributed 1k to it
It will be a world wide trip if he keeps those rates up
Around the 1k mark is about right. I did mine 6 months ago its was 950. I think the radiator was 550$
