    Thank you, I have this plant grown in my backyard last year save some seeds will plant this year did some research they're invasive needed to keep my eyes on them.

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  7 месяцев назад

      I find they do spread, but they aren't nearly as invasive as some other plants (like coltsfoot, mints, chickweed etc.). If you know what they look like in the spring you can always pull them up if they show up somewhere you don't want them :)

      I had this blue vervain pop up in my herb bed along with 1 moth mullein and a pokeweed popped up in a different planter in what should have been a pepper plant! Interesting. I wish I knew more about the pokeweed it's such a controversial plant and I'm in chronic pain from a back injury. It's probably just what I need, I believe our Creator has given us just what we need in these plants for our healing, we just need to learn more about them, so thank you so much for your informative videos, blessings to you

      I honestly have no idea! It's not a well known herb truthfully so it might be tricky to find online. You can check with Harmonic Arts, St. Francis or Mountain Rose Herbs (if you are in the US).

    I hope you still read comments for this video. Trying to tincture my blue vervain but my flowers already died off and it’s just leaves and the part that’s left of the flower… like a brown cone thing. Can I still use it?

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  3 месяца назад +1

      I do still read comments! And I would definitely not use that. The plant is already well into its dormancy state. There is a saying in wild harvesting and medicine making... "there's always next year." Personally I would wait until next growing season!

      Hi there Joseph. If you listen to the video, about one minute in I mention that I use the top 20-25% of the plant :) I strip off the leaves and flowers and utilize that for tinctures and infused oils. Hope that helps!

      Hi there Sarah! I am sorry to be seeing this comment so late (I'm not getting notifications from YT for some reason!). It's very bitter so I don't often harvest for tea, but perhaps next year when it's in flower again I can talk about drying herbs :)
