I am a big fan of baseball. Although the Mets and the Pirates are my teams, I can watch any team play. I miss the Stargell era and the Seaver era. The Mets were truly a miracle team. I'm not an expert by a long shot, just love the game.
Nice to hear he came to most recent reunion. The Two most insane trades in MLB History... Boston sending Babe Ruth to the NY Yankees after the 1918 season and Nolan Ryan to The Angels in 1972 for JIM FREGOSI... Jim Fregosi, Are you kidding Me. Mets are fortunate Bill Buckner was playing late in Game 6, otherwise, they'd be staring down the same fate Boston endured from 1919-2003!!!
okay one O was born in 1977 so I don't remember who saved games 3 or 4 of the 1969 WS. He might have been throwing 100 per hour but he was wild. WILD I tell you.
Calm down. Nolan Ryan of 1971-72 showed no real proof that he would become the HOF he became. Also when Buckner made the error the Mets had already previously tied the game. (Mitchell scoring on the Wild Pitch)
First of all it seems you don't cause if you did you would know Ryan played the angles from 1972-79 not 78. The Angels were not subpar for all of those years not with Ryan and Tannana the one two punch on the mound. So you do not know more than me it appears
Doug you don't know baseball. Game 6 of the 86 series was already tied. If Buckner had caught that the game would have continued. Who are you to say the Sox would have won, are you God? Oh and the Sox had a chance in game 7 and they LOST. Plus the Sox won game 2 of that series 1-0 and how did they get their run? The ball went between Teufel's legs same way as Buckner. So do your research and dont spout cliches.
One can never make a good point to anyone from NY, you people know it all. At least you think you do. Make me sick. Ryan saved Game 3 or 4, can't remember, but only pitched that one inning in '69, the only World Series game he ever played in. He was throwing 100 mph from 1969-1971, don't tell me he didn't have proof or show proof. Your Organization paid the heavy price!
screw the updated version. This decade's team minus the 2000 series team cant hold a candle to the past mets. At least i could love the loveable losers...but these recent teams make me sick.
Again Doug you dont seem to be a baseball expert. Instead of insulting people from an entire city why not do some research? Ryan is one of the most overrated players ever. Never won a Cy Young, has 292 career losses. Walked more batters than any pitcher in history. He only won 20 games twice when he was in a four man rotation, losing 16 games each of those seasons. It was a bad trade but to compare it to Ruth is just misinformed , to be nice. Go get a haircut.
My mom and I have been fans since '62. Tomorrow she turns 82 and I'm posting this on her wall. Thanks.

THE METS ARE BACK!!!
That was a beautiful thing that Mookie Wilson did for them back in '86😎
Too bad he didn't mention Nolan Ryan from that amazin' '69 team. Greatest Met Ever!
@LeighMet 2006 was a good year. Should have mentioned that as a pass lol. I am still a die hard met fan no matter where our team is.
@LeighMet Ryan was at the last reunion...

just think its the new way YT lays out responses, its annoying isnt it
Talkin baseball....... Baseball and the shits
They're not the best team, but they're my team
@cpsway ya, wright sucks. but i think reyes is only playing so well to go somewhere else. i think we'll be stuck w Wright. :(
Also you didn't know the mets had tied the game before the buckner error so how do you claim to know more about the game then me
why did your reply to doug go to me
