Nice fish Ian by we got 20 mm of rain not enough to make the drive to the highlands worth it to check the rivers.Getting ready for partridge season on the first then ducks on the 6th then finally geese on the 16th .No deer hunt for me this year the dog only got a few yrs left retrieving so i'm puttin my time into him till he's retired plus i'm the only one in the house that eats deer lol,,,
Hi thanks for watching. If you look at the video, 3 in a day. I'm sure it's either on that or definitely one of the last three I showed, the set up and how to fish it.
Excellent and really enjoyed thanks. Never tried the floating devon but you've made me want to give a try. In your opinion is it effective for Spring fish? Tks
HI thanks for watching. It's a really effective method normally from July onwards on my opinion. If you have spring fiah sitting holding in a pool then yes but generally spring fish run through most places so
Thanks for watching. I'd say it's effective when you've fish holding in a pool. I find it effective on the lower Tay from July onwards. Most of the spring fish will generally be running through and I think you'd be fishing below them. I prefer a metal devin in the spring as you can fish it in the middle and just below in the water column
Have to ask..... started the fly for salmon not so long ago. Was recommended the short head rio. Not really learning to cast as the head is so short i can even get an anchor on it. My question is.... am i better to get a mid long spey line or the 1 you use, long head spey line? Regards 👍
Hi, thanks for watching. Before doing that as they are harder to get to grips with. Buy a 20ft vision hybrid tip or any long tip and add it onto your shooting head. This will give you a longer line in total and enough to anchor with. Alternate between 20ft, 14ft, 10ft until you find what works for you. I have a rio gamechanger and use the 20ft tips on it. They work great. Still short but anchor well.
I respect your opinion but I believe it makes no difference. I use one where possible but when wading deep and in fast water they become dangerous because they send you off balance or drag the water. Thanks for watching
Nice fish again good big trout
It was James, decent trout for here. I dare say there's bigger but their not keen on much. Thanks again for watching 👍

Thanks Billy, that's a pity on the water. I get more enjoyment out of working the dogs to thanks shooting now. Good luck 👍
