Thanks William. Nice of you to say. Yes they were cracking fish, hopefully they keep coming into the system for a bit longer. They seem earlier this year by a few weeks in these numbers so fingers crossed.
Great fish. Wonderful to see those sea lice. Freshly run gives us hope for salmon Future. Toby versus Fly and old story! I suppose its all a matter of the river conditions?
Yes great to see. River conditions and accessibility dictate when I use the spinning rod. I'm not shy about using it if I think it's the only option to fish an area. Thanks again for watching 👍
I have a few 28 gram tobys..or another make. They usually only get used when I come up to the Tweed in Spring... Id love to try somewhere on the Tay which Ive never fished..Yes Id make sure they were in the bag for your big fine river....(along with the fly rod) Always enjoy your videos..antidote to the hard fishing here on Welsh Dee Lune and Eden. Thanks for watching Simon. You've been watching them from the beginning I'm sure. You should take a day or two in June on Walkmill next year if it's low water. Let me know when your coming and I'll come and give you some pointers. Thanks again 👍
Well done! Defo a fair few fish in the river just now, was fishing Newtyle yesterday and the boil was stuffed with them. Had a pull early morning but no luck after that even though they were showing constantly. Tight Lines!
Amazing video, Congrats on the two fish! I’d very much like to fish the Tay, can you recommend a couple of the most productive beats in your experience for spinning September time? Many thanks 😊
Hi, thanks for watching, I would say Walkmill is excellent for spinning. I had four there yesterday spinning. Ballathie is another. Hopefully you get into a few fish 👍
Cast upstream and wind back quick. Very effective on the Tay and permitted. I would check as its not allowed on some smaller rivers as there is a higher chance of foul hooking one.
@@scottishoutdoorlife I thought it was !, I had the same problem with mine !, and Stradic and baitrunner in the past !, think I need to service them more !,
Hi, not sure what rule your referring to, in Scotland this is a very effective way to fish for salmon and there have never been any rules to say you can't. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi, it certainly does. I have had days where they won't look at a spinner but take the fly. On the Tay especially a spinning rods essential I think on most beats. Even if it's just to get to places you can't wade or doesn't suit the fly. Very effective.
Brilliant Mr Law... fantastic videos 😊
Great username Andy, love it. Thanks, have I missed the first upload or is it due out soon 😃
Beautiful fish and a lovely video, two fish…two casts I bet work went quick that day after that!
It certainly did. If only everyday was like that. Thanks for watching 👍
Fantastic, what lovely fresh fish, well done and congratulations! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching and commenting again 🙂
Excellent morning, well done, two real cracking fish.. nice to cover every method as you’re allowed..
Thanks, they were belters. Hopefully one or two more to be had soon.
Beautiful fresh seal iced fish. Great to see. I am too old for salmon fishing now and I enjoy your videos👌
Thanks William. Nice of you to say. Yes they were cracking fish, hopefully they keep coming into the system for a bit longer. They seem earlier this year by a few weeks in these numbers so fingers crossed.
@@scottishoutdoorlife my heart is in my mouth when I see you wading in that river without a wading stick or a life vest.
Been wading that beat since I was 10 but agree I should really have a vest on. 👍
@@scottishoutdoorlife your life is more important than any salmon
A couple of fresh fish in a couple of hours, well done, looked beautiful out there on the water 👏👏
Thanks for watching. Yes it was a great couple of hours. Great just to be out to be honest.
Super fish. Well done Ian!
Thanks for watching 👍

Crazy wading into the middle of the tay again!😂2 absolute crackers though and could have been a few more! Another great video👍
Thanks for watching and for the kind comments. Yes two crackers 👍

Hi, yes a lot of fish coming in. Great to see and hope they keep coming. Pity you didn't get hold of one. I'm sure you'll get them next time 👍
Great stuff some people get all the luck 😂😂. A couple of belters there tight lines for the next trip.
Thanks Toby, right place right time. Hopefully get out again soon.

@@scottishoutdoorlife that’s great, thanks so much for the reply! Loving your content :)
lovely fish
Thanks
Absolutely brilliant as always 👏👏👏, what is your spinning set up please? 🥃
Thanks, I fish a 10ft Daiwa Whisker spinning rod, a Shimano 6000 baitrunner with 33lb braid.
Hey, how come casting upstream? I usually do straight across or a bit down.
Cast upstream and wind back quick. Very effective on the Tay and permitted. I would check as its not allowed on some smaller rivers as there is a higher chance of foul hooking one.
Thanks for watching 👍
You’re welcome!
Another nice video!. I have been wondering where this area is in relation to Perth, how far north?
Hi thanks for watching. It's only about 2-3 miles from Perth. Just above Scone Racecourse. 👍
What G of toby were you using mate? 2 stunning fish👏🎣
Thanks Andy. 28g Abu toby. They sit higher in the water when reeled in quick. 👍
@@scottishoutdoorlife thanks mate i'm on the Tay tomorrow🤞🎣
Whereabouts? Good luck 👍
@@scottishoutdoorlife thanks mate, i'm out on Dalmarnock hoping to snag my first salmon on the fly😂
Good luck
Hi can you recommend a spinning real and rod please thanks.
Hi I use a Daiwa Whisker 10ft spinning rod, I would definitely have another. Thanks for watching 👍
Disappointed when you didn't get another one on the 3rd cast 😃. Belters
I know I felt sure I was going to get another when I was getting so many offers. 👍
Great video. What weight toby did you have on? 🎣
Hi thanks for watching, its a 28g Abu toby.
Silver or copper.@@scottishoutdoorlife
Silver one, don't often fish a copper 👍
2 bars of silver excellent
Thanks for watching again James.
Better than tv keep them coming 👍👊
I thought you normally did yeah , but what reel of your sons did you have on for this video?
Ok sorry, his is a Shimano Sahara 4000
@@scottishoutdoorlife I thought it was !, I had the same problem with mine !, and Stradic and baitrunner in the past !, think I need to service them more !,
@chriswright2135 What's a service? 🤣 should really get mine looked at from time to time too.
Why were you casting up the river have the rules changed
Hi, not sure what rule your referring to, in Scotland this is a very effective way to fish for salmon and there have never been any rules to say you can't. Thanks for watching 👍
Bet you were in a good made at work then! 2 cracking fish, right place, right time..that’s salmon fishing for you..😊
Great mood at work 🙂. Yes that's what it's all about. Thanks for watching 👍
This video demonstrates the effectiveness of a spinner compared to the fly. 6 offers on a spinner, no offers on the fly.
