What Parks Are Getting New Roller Coasters In 2024?

- Every year amusement parks across the continent announce new additions in an attempt to get more people to come to their parks. 2024 will be no exception as many parks will (or have already) announced new roller coasters for next year. Today, I'll showcase what parks have confirmed new roller coasters, what parks have basically confirmed new roller coasters, and some parks that are speculated to get new roller coasters. At the end, I'll throw in some wild card predictions to lookout for as well.

I think we could see a replacement for volcano at kings dominion sometime in 2025. The park is overdue for replacing this coaster.
Didn’t know that Busch Gardens Williamsburg is getting a new coaster. Considering that’ll be my new home park in a few months I’ll take it
Just to add to your Sea World Orlando speculation.....first the area they are clearing is quite massive. Like larger than kraken area and beyond. But it's still definitely going to be a family launch coaster and the initial design was going to be a intamin straddle. But after hearing from inside sources, the park made a last min design and manufacturer change and it's looking to be a B&M family launch coaster. Like another prototype. After working with B&M on Pipeline, the park is excited to keep their relationship going. So I'm quite excited for this new coaster now.
Yeah I we know there’s a coaster going there. Really hoping it is a B&M to see what they come up with
@@amusementscape I’ve also heard rumors from inside the the park of a B&M family launch coaster for Sea World Orlando. Also heard the Sand Serpent replacement will be a family coaster. My guess is BGT will get an Intamin straddle to replace that.
Same im very excited to see what Sea World and Busch Gardens Tampa have planned... after recently riding Mystic Timbers and The Beast at Kings Island for the first time, Florida could use a great wooden coaster but that's not something I see happening as wooden coasters dont typically drive crowds.
@@ChrispysThemeParkAdventures wooden coasters just don't do well in Florida with the overall weather and year round use. They have tried a few times and each time it either failed or requires triple the maintenance work to keep it running smooth.
@Florida Maddogg it definitely makes sense I do wish it were possible though after riding the 2 at Kings Island I have Fallin in love with wooden coasters
BGT has the whole area where Sand Serpent is all closed and one ride already removed. I think it will be a family ride there for late 2024. Hopefully we get that Giga in Jungala in 2026!
Yeah that makes sense. I’m thinking a family coaster this year and then a Giga later on. It also makes sense since they are removing Sand Serpent this early on in the season
Silver Dollar City’s coaster is basically confirmed. I’ve seen the track inside of the building and it looks about done. The area around it is being built fast too/

The BGW coaster isn't a 2024 addition. It was pushed back to 2025. There would have been work by now if it were 2024, and there's been nothing.
Kings dominion also is likely to be getting something in the old Volcano plot. Over the last few weeks work has significantly ramped up in that area, and it seems like if they hurry, a 2024 opening if feasible.
I’d love to see Ky Kingdom surprise us with something unique.

A 200ft tall + RMC at Williamsburg would put that park into rare territory for me personally.
Hoping Kings Island gets RMC Son of Beast or B&M stand up King Cobra or even a Mack Rides Multi launch.
Agreed. I personally would love a B&M stand up, but another thing i can see happen is an extreme spinning coaster, as there are others that are very popular, and kings island does not have a spinning coaster yet.

So excited for Mattel adventure park. Desert storm has been the “newest” thrill coaster in my state with it opening in 1992. I love that ride don’t get me wrong but a over 30 year coaster drought is kinda ridiculous

As a non-US resident I’d love an overseas one, especially as there’s a rumour (and a proposal with the track on the front) that Paultons Park in the U.K. is getting a water coaster.
I think I heard about that vaguely, I’d have to look into that!

I dont get why cedar point didnt reuse the track from wicked twister. They could have combined the 2 spikes into one large twisted spike and saved tons on fabrication of the new spike.

Fire in the hole 2.0 as I’m calling it. Will almost 100% open next year. Facade work on the new building is Almost done and when I was there the other day you can just about see that track work inside looks about finished. As far as RMC they were spotted at the park not to long ago and they also put out a post on Facebook asking for volunteers near their shop to come and test restraints for a “new type of coaster train” they wanted people 32 inches or more and I’ve heard sdc wants the new fire in the hole to accommodate to almost anyone so it’s very likely those are the trains for the new ride. Also just to add to this the other day they posted a image on social media of some sort of book cover or something without any context. Sdc likes to announce their rides in august or September so they May be beginning to tease the new ride

An RMC Family Coaster at New England would be very cool
I see something happening to the boss in St. Louis hopefully a RMC but likely just a retrack as it is now unbearable to ride

If Six Flags New England added both a launch and a dive coaster, their coaster portfolio would move into the elite category.

Something in the Speculated is the unnamed B&M Hyper Coaster that is planned on being built for Knott's Berry Farm.

So we got a dueling Vekoma Family Boomerang and an Orkanen Clone coming to the wizard of oz area at Warner Bros Movie World, a 1.5km (mile long) Weigand Alpine Coaster coming to Thredbo and Goldrush, a cool looking Vekoma Family coaster with 12 airtime moments.

Or family/kiddie coasters. Literally the last non-launch non-family/kiddie coaster at bgw was griffon.

Six Flags Great Escape will be getting a gravity group wood coaster in 2024 the name will be Bobcat.
Universal newsa to make a family coaster named Vin Diesels FAMILY coaster. Just have a big picture of him crossing his arms at the enterance. Have him record "welcome to vin diesels family coaster, no single riders permitted because family. Make sure to buckle your seatbelts we dont want anybody getting hurt. Then he start crying singing "its been a long day without you my friend and ill tell you all about it when i see you again WHY GOD WHY DID YOU TAKE MY FAMILY"
Another BGW item… they are redoing Loch Ness Monster for next year. Unfortunately that’s all I know.
Just at BGW today. Didn’t see any movement in that area but they are dressing up that Drachen Fire wait station for Howl-O-Scream.
Still waiting for ohio to get a new park to replace geauga lake. A park to serve the cleveland akron area would be successful. Plus it would push cedar point to build big record breaking rides again since they have no competition they have slowed down. Six flags should open another six flags ohio.
SFOG announced an Intamin Ultra Surf for their 2024 edition but it’s name has yet to announced as well at an animated concept of the ride with the name chosen
I predict that Worlds of Fun will do absolutely nothing and ride on the Zambezi Zinger nuts for at least 5 years.
Bgw not getting nothing in 24, maybe an announcement of something new but no construction in that area as of October 23. I hope we get an iron gwazi mimic!
Great America in Gurnee Il is doing something as Buccaneer Battle is being removed and the bungee coaster next to American eagle is as closed to be removed .

With the opening of Epic we will see a lot of investments in BGT AND SWO they will upgrade just about everything to pick up whatever overflow Epic has…. I can see IOA doing another major opening even tho they own Epic…
Studios will remain somewhat the same but they are pushing it to family friendly things over there not so much thrill

I'm getting the feeling that Cotaland is dead. Track has been sitting on site untouched for months and zero new shipments or progress over that timespan either. Hoping that's not the case, but in any realistic scenario I would have expected something to change by now.
That’s a good point. They did say it’s delayed though, and I doubt they’ll move fast. Something to watch out for for sure

that plot of land where Vortex used to be at Kings Island is looking pretty lonely right now. I doubt there'll be anything for 2024 since if they put something there it'll probably be a bigger project and they just finished their new themed area but fingers crossed for 2025 maybe.
they should name the replacement shooting star bc it's located in the coney mall section and can pay homage to the original coaster from coney island
@LightningBoat that would be awesome although I was thinking an RMC hybrid themed around the return of the Son of Beast would be great too. There's so many possibilities in that spot.

I saw a video of them doing sound testing in the park for the new coaster.
BGT just announced Sand Serpent is closing this summer. So it may be a 2025 addition after all. Iron Gwazi was supposed to be a 2020 addition so it falls in line with the new major ride every 4 years they have usually kept with.
You forgot to mention kings island they’ve been getting rides every 3-4 years so they are due for another one

What I think Great adventure should get in 2024 is a dive coaster.

@@kevinmillan9392 Dorney is too close to Great Adventure that it would make it too similar if they got a Dive so I think they will either get one of the other B&M models or a GCI, Premier, or maybe a ground up RMC

I wanna see fun spot shock the community again with another insane coaster at Fun Spot Atlanta. I would love to see them build a sweet launch or wooden coaster, maybe one slightly more for families.

I’d love a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster built over/around that pond in the front of the park. Would be a great visual with a zero g inversion over that water
I’m sick and tired of this +500 Dragster spike talk 😤. Weather it is or not do you guys realize it wouldn’t launch 🚀 to that desired height so what would be the reason for Cedar Point to take such a cheesy record. Lastly, show me 1 coaster with a spike that climbs the whole spike 🤔
