Everytime I hear an off the top its always a mf just saying a bunch of random lines, with inconsistent, sloppy rhyme schemes and not saying ANYTHING. Give me a ill written that tells a story, has clever lines and comes together to form a cohesive verse over a sloppy ass freestyle

Been listening to Hip Hop for 25+ years but I'd still rather hear a verse that someone took the time to craft over a mediocre freestyle. It's a cool skill to have but it's more of a novelty. I'm a fan of guys like Talib and Droog for what they do on actual songs and albums, so if I'm watching/listening to them then I'd rather hear that level of quality.
