howard was serious when it came to his radio grudges or other people he felt mistreated him in the past i dont think it was entirely bit - giilbert doesnt give in, but you can tell he's kinda uncomfortable. its only a "bit" since gilbert didnt give in to the pressure and called howard's bluff - but it was a real attempt at a power play by howard and robin, i think

I can't get over how Howard always talked about how Gilbert was a special friend of the show that had the privilege to just walk in (because Howard rightfully recognized Gilbert's talent!) and then all of a sudden in 2012 that all ends and Howard never speaks about Gilbert again until he died. Howard wanted his guests to show him a loyalty that he only reciprocated on a conditional basis. I admire Gilbert so much in this clip for not giving in to Howard. Despite his self-deprecating persona, Gilbert knew his worth! I'll always love Gilbert. Howard just looks worse and worse every year.
