10:04 - Mistake(Ошибка). Well done everyone who noticed!;-)
i have heard 3 other teachers doing this lesson and it is only Max who really does it quickly, clearly, efficiently.
I find him the most comprehensive and the most thorough compared to others with similar channels. I like how he takes his time and encourages us to learn Russian by listening to Russian.
Quickly 🤣🤣 for me there's no such thing. This language is incredibly difficult 😞
The amount of effort you put into these videos in unbelievable! Thank you so much!
Slow and accurate teaching style without any difficulty listening to your speech. Although the background is dark, the white clock upfront is clear and easy to recognize.Well done Makc!
the best to learn Russian. Even for french people, like me!!!
Excellent video. Will likely have to watch it a few times to have it all sink in and to remember it all.
Awesome video. I kind of get the concept. I have to watch the video several times. But you explain this very well. Thank you so much.
You are a very good teacher! I love how you act like a teacher in a class room and try to involve the audience! Thank for helping us all out :D Greetings from a Dane currently learning Russian, three months in!
Really great video on this challenging subject. Thanks.
Great I like so much
Thank you 😊😊
Really really excellent explanation!

Great job, thank you.
Max, the intro to your videos are priceless!🔥💯 Hahaha ...oh hey guys) hahahah
Thanks for this.
At 10:04 - это правильно? It doesn't seem right. I though it was четверти семь.
No problem. I'm just glad that I could use the Russian words for 'upside down' on the same day that I learned it. I learned 'вверх ногами' today, and was able to use it already!!!!!!!!!!!!
^_^
Thank you. Very helpful and funny too! 😂👍
You did it!
One year in the Russian language and I can say, telling time is one of my weakness. Universally, people should be able to tell time in two ways. The twelve-hour time or the military time. Russian has it all in variety of ways! You don't want this way, let me tell you this other way, oh, how about this one....
I will have to watch this video again and again.
Thanks.
Hey! You need to understand them all, but you don't need to use all of them in speech. Military time is very strict and almost has no variety:) Choose the easiest way for you. Good luck!:)
Merci pour cette vidéo, très bien expliqué !
Наглядно, с жестами и раздаточным материалом в виде часов)))) Напомнило "I wake up" song by Dream English)))) Умничка, Макс!
Max, this is the best explanation I've seen! I'll have to watch it a few times to have it all sink in. Entertaining and funny.
This is so interesting! In England we say half (past) four to mean 4.30, but it seems in Russian half four means 3.30?
Полчетвёртого means "half of the fourth hour", we take the 4th hour (as 60 min) and refer to its half, which is 30 min, so it's 3:30.
5.30
4.20
6.45
23.46
Good way to teach time. How's the bike ? Learned to wheelie yet?
5:30 (half of the sixth hour); 4:20 (20 minutes of the fifth hour); 6:45 (without a quarter from hour 7);
I need to practice this a lot. But, in the future, I want to make a video trying to translate these in a literal but English way that makes sense to the English speaking mind. I will be thinking about better ways to translate these. This lesson was challenging. I'm trying to only use the word 'of' for genitive case words, & not for nominative. без четверти needs a better translation. I'm thinking about 'A quarter of an hour less than 7 o'clock. I will try to think about better ways to translate.
Ok...I thought this was gonna give me a headache but I think I got it...
5:30 4:20 6:45 23:46
Interesting and useful video. It seems that there is no A.M. or P.M. as in English. Therefore, the easiest way to say at 3:50 p.m. would seem to be "в три пятьдесят днём". If it was 3:50 a.m. it would be "в три пятьдесят утром". Please correct me if I am wrong.
Mind the comma.
1.5:30
2.4:20
3.6:45
4.23:46
5:30, 4:20, 6:45, 23:46
Thanks Max for this video, however I'm still confused - at one point you had the clock at a quarter to seven but said it was a quarter to five. And secondly when it's 2.10 you seem to be saying ten minutes three! I understand the first way of saying 3.40 as 4 o"clock without 20 minutes but am lost with the second half of the video.
Simon Tolson, it has to do with the genitive case & nominative case. See my reply about the audio. In parentheses, I tried to translate this into an English way as close as possible. It might help.
2:10 it's 10 past 2 in English, but in Russian we say another way: 'it is beginning of 3, so 10 min of 3rd. 10 min past but they are going to 3 and this is our destination' I cannot translate it more correctly to English, but I hope you got the idea:)
at 11:40 should be written: 6:05 not 5:10. and to the answers at the video's end: 5:30 5:20 6:45 11:46
tal it shows how well you understood! gratz!:-)
